*Update: I have updated this skin with many of the changes I was originally planning on releasing in v0.12.0.  The main changes include the ability for the user to easily define how many rows of shortcuts to have in the QuickLaunch area.  News feed details area can now be expanded to display more text.  I've made a few minor cosmetic changes as well.  There are probably other changes that I am forgetting since most were made over a month ago. :wink:


I've made a few minor changes and cleaned up the code quite a bit.  This skin uses the new Weather.com image set included with the latest version of TodayPlus, and Forcast details now include Night info.  This skin has been redesigned to work with the new config application as well.  The location & parentheses have been removed from all-day events in the Agenda section.

- Main page with today's Date, Weather, and current month's Calendar
- World Timezones (both analog and digital)
- Weather for 1 or more cities
- Multiple news feeds with optional Stocks page
- 2 Month Calendar with Agenda Advance function

Would it be possible to modify your skin so that, when you click on the battery meter, storage meter, or memory meter, a shortcut is launched to the application associated with that function?  I think that would be a great addition.  

It could be done when the meter is highlighted in the upper right corner.

I think the recombinant skin is supposed to do this, but that feature doesn't work for me.

Bug in the skin.  I set up the shortcuts as you described, and for the games I only have four games listed and the last one on my list is listed one with an icon and 5 times with no icon.  Beyond that great skin.

I found a bug that wouldn't allow the Main section to collapse (forgot to add a full-refresh :oops: ).  I've updated the first post's ZIP file and I'm including the updated skin file below for those who downloaded OSX Complete skin prior to 12/25/03:

Yes, I may add this in the next version.  I currently have this function in both of my other skins (Logika Complete & Complete skins), but didn't add it to this skin because the detail screens are more thorough in this skin.

It displays "--:--" until you update/syncronize the skin for the first time.  It will also display that any other time the buffer is empty.

This is not actually a bug, but a quirk of TodayPlus.  To prevent this from happening create additional "blank" shortcuts (no path or name defined) in "apps-3-" until you have a total of 9 shortcuts for that group.

Yesterday I installed your skin. The only problem I had yesterday is that the weather-icon on the today-TAB would'nt show. This morning it did show the icon, but after updating it was gone again.

Try clearing your buffer (manually or using the config app) & resyncing your data.

I admire your work, particularly the Logika skins. I am new with TodayPlus and trying to learn, along with PPX. I ahve a couple of questions, please:

1. What is the reason for clearing the Buffer, and how often?

2. How do you perform a 'REFRESH'? I find that when I load TodayPlus, without regard for any particular skin, I ahve to perform a soft reset in order for the screen to dispaly any information...only a blank screen.

3. I find that while in the learning curve, I disable TodayPlus and PPX to get back to a familar working space. With that said, I have for a long time be an advocate of WisBar. I cannot find a Logika.skin file to use and have resorted to using someone's rip off of yours. Any chance of getting this file?

You don't have to reset the PPC, all you do is go Settings Today items then exit settings and it will refresh.

The buffer contains previously downloaded weather & news data.  Usually, you shouldn't need to clear this unless that data isn't displaying correctly.

The quickest way to reload the  skin is from the config application.  If you get a blank screen, wait a few seconds.  TodayPlus can sometimes take a while to load & display.

I use Icbar, so I don't have an original skin file for any of my Wisbar/Icbar themes.  Sorry. :(

To start with, OSX is a superb skin, rbg08.

To be able to collapse the main section directly when in Weather, News, etc. I have been adding "imagebutton,226,60,up_arrow.png,t,0,4,0,-1" line in the appropriate places, (I think!).

This has worked everywhere, (the main section collapsing directly), with the exception of the Calendar section. I noticed that in the skin in this section, the "imagebutton" line has an additional "button" line, which I can't get to work. Based on the line that I have used, could you please tell me what the "button" line should say.

The only other problem I am having is that I cannot get overdue tasks to show up in the skin, although I casn't get them to show up on the slider skin, either. I have looked at the various posts, and tried various things, and I am sure I am missing something simple :oops: Could you please help?

Sorry, rgb08, I managed to find what I was doing wrong. The "imagebutton,226,60,up_arrow.png,t,0,4,0,-1" should have had an 8 after the t, (not 0). The Calendar section now collapses properly.

However, I still need some help with overdue tasks. (I use PI, but can't get any of the TD+ POOM filters to work, and as TD+ has replaced ALL my other plugins I really want this to happen). A stupid question, I'm sure, but in the POOM filter section, for tasks, when it asks for no of days, is that look ahead days?

Also, what command do I have to change in the skin so that the Agenda does NOT show at the start, but only when you press the Agenda button.

I'm having the same problem with Overdue tasks not showing up.  I'm not sure if my filters are set up wrong or if there's some other problem.

I haven't used POOM filters since config.exe was introduced.  I had Overdue Tasks displaying on this skin in previous versions, so it should be possible.  Check out the Help & Support forum or other skin threads to see if others have gotten the filters to work.

I've downloaded your skin successfully, but I can't figure out how to make it appear. Upon trying to replace the slider.txt file with the osx.txt fill in the select skin dll drop box it won't show up - I have made sure to place the files in the directories you suggested but no luck.

WTF am I doing wrong?

After selecting OSX Complete skin.txt in the drop-down box, did you press the "Reload Plugin" button?  TodayPlus must be restarted in order for a new skin to display.

Can I setup a button to refresh the 'agenda', the 'count' seems to be updated when I add a new appointment but agenda takes quite awhile before I can view the new appointment.

Any thoughts, once again I been very please with this skin.  :D

1. At the moment its not possible to list tasks in TodayPlus which do not have a due date associated.

2. You can add an additional button command in the 'Agenda' button area with action no 23 and slot number used for cache to force fetch the data whenever u click that button.

It would look like....
button,<x>,<y>,<width>,<height>,-1,23,<outlook cache slot>

outlook cache slot most probably will be 0 as I have not seen the skin code myself.

Or you can add a new imagebutton somewhere too if you like with action 23.

There is actually a refresh button for Agenda in the Calendar section.  I put it there since you can advance the Agenda section by tapping on any date on the calendars, but to return to today's Agenda you needed a refresh button.

Hi. Complete noob here.

I downloaded TP yesterday and am exicted about this program.

This skin is by far my favorite!

Question: tasks show up under my appointments on the "Agenda" view. How to I keep this from happening? I only want to see the appointments.

Simple to change. :)  Open up the OSX Complete skin.txt file, scroll down to the end, and look for the following code in region,2,0 of the Agenda section:

changefont,tahoma,13,
outlook,2,1,238,66,0,0,,,,1
button,68,1,12,66,5,24,nohighlight,1

In the outlook command, change the 5th number from 0 to 1.  Reload the skin and you should see only appointments on the Agenda view.

Getting real close now!

1) Can the length of the agenda & tasks be set so that it auto-adjusts depending on how many items are on the list. Example: I think it's set at 5 now, so it only shows 5 tasks on the list. What if I have 10 tasks today, then 12 tomorrow. Can it auto adjust the way standard Today screen does with meetings?

2) Is there a way to wrap the appointment name or task name to the next line, instead of chopping off?

3) Can the agenda view only show me today's meetings and not tomorrow's? I only want to see tomorrow's meetings tomorrow.

4) Is there a way to add meeting location on the appointments?

Again, this skin is great! Sorry for so many questions, but I'm starting to get the feel of how it works. Still, I'm a complete noob to all of this.

In the AGENDA section at the bottom of the skin file, increase each page number of region,2 by 1 (i.e.: change region,2,0,-1 to region,2,1,-1 , etc.).  Make sure to also increase each corresponding endregion.

Then find the following code, also in the AGENDA section, and make the changes I have bolded:

Unfortunately not :( .  At least as far as I know, there is currently no way of doing this.

Word-wrap isn't currently supported either.  I designed the Agenda section to look similar to a tAgenda format I was using before TodayPlus.

I think there may be a way to do this now, but I haven't looked into it yet.  Try looking at other skins or asking about this in the Help forum.

Location is listed after the appointment name in parenthesis for all types of appointments except all-day appointments.

Haven't tried it myself but if I think a similar approach can be adopted to the one I used to increase the number of launcher pages, namely in the skin file add an additional page to the quick launch region and change the second page's imagebuttons to point to your new page and set its imagebuttons to poiint back to the first (what the second pages buttons do now).

There are a few different places you can tap to update.  On the Main page tap "Last updated:", On the Weather forcast page tap on the update time below current conditions (if weather data is current within 4 hours), or on any News page by tapping on the feed's title (i.e.: BBC World News).

For the SilverAqua skiin as rbg08 said you will need Wisbar Advance (http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/wisbar/).

Once you've got it your best bet is to download the WA skin file I hacked together a while back and uploaded in the version 0.98 thread from here (http://www.dark-mojo.com/todayplus/download.php?id=207)

Looks like my Agenda format isn't very compatible with Chinese. :oops:  If you have the patience, you may wish to recode the Agenda section to a format that works better.  You can use fishboy's Skin Reference Guide, posted in the top thread of the General forum, for help in understanding & changing the code in the skin file.  Or you could borrow another skin's existing code (i.e.: slider skin) to replace my code in the Agenda section.

I have asked the question here, rgb08, because I have added wind speed and dir to the weather section of your OSX skin.

At the moment it quotes the wind speed in mph, and I was just wondering if I could get it to easily quote km/h.

By the way I have increased the Quick Launch section from 20 to 30, and made a couple of minor changes. My skin is posted in the "Share your skin" thread in this forum. I would be interested to see what you thought about it.

Hi Inawe, this is not possible for now because there is no calcvar for
the windspeed in v011. But as we aso liked to change the windspeed
into beaufort Timmy made a feature request and srs stated, it will be there in the next version:

did you put the number of days in the Poom filter area? I put 360 in mine.

yes i did put it the "360."

On the skin I am using, I have to use the scroll button to go back to see it, because the Agenda defaults to the present day. So I know I have to go back to see it.

Thnx, joe, for the reply. This is the poom filters that I have for my Task. Maybe there is a problem in it that causes the finished task not showing up.

The first line is exactly as mine is, and mine works.  But like I said you don't see the past due task untill I scroll back.

I hope to add scrollable Agenda in the next version of this skin (along with several other enhancements I've already added ;) ).

I am still having dificulty getting overdue tasks to show on the agenda.  I have defined the filters and they work with other skins but not this one.  Any suggestions?

fdroms, I had the same problem, but then joe told me to scroll up to find the overdue tasks, and that solved the problem. I did find them displayed in red on the previous day. Maybe you can try the same.

I have found the problem with seein overdue tasks.  Search the skin file for taskfilter.  You will find  "taskfilter,taskfilter0 " and "taskfilter, taskfilter1 ".  They should both read taskfilter,1.  Then be sure you have at least 2 poom filter set.  both for 360 days, show overdue tasks & sort by due date.   Overdue tasks then show up fine.

Thanks! :)  I haven't used POOM filters since srs added the config.exe program.  So I hadn't tested my Overdue Tasks code to see if it was compatible with the latest version of TP.  I'll correct the file in the first post when I get a chance.

I set up 2 filters since some of the skins ref task filter 2.  The problem with most skins is tht the first reference is for taskfilter 0 which aparently does not exist in ver .11.  The initial filter you enter is taskfilter 1

I've updated the skin file to work correctly with Task and Calendar filters.  This allows Overdue Tasks to display in Agenda and Tasks views.  Taskfilter,1 corresponds with Agenda and Tasks views; taskfilter,2 & calendarfilter,2 correspond with Countdown view.  Here is the updated skin file (I've also updated the ZIP file in the first post):

I made a few changes to this skin.  Tapping on today's date in text on the Main page now displays the mini calendar to the side (which is also displayed by default).  Tapping on the mini calendar will open the two month Calendar view.  Tapping the battery and memory meters displays more detail on the Main page.  Tapping on the details will now launch the appropriate system monitor on your PPC.  You can also manually resync the weather data if no current data is available by tapping on the displayed text.  I've also made a few corrections/updates to the readme file.  Here's the new skin file:

Oops!  :oops:  The skin file I originally posted in the previous post was an older file that didn't have many of the changes mentioned above.  This is the most updated skin file with all the changes mentioned in the previous post, plus an additional change.  I changed the page refresh time to allow for better response to taps. This should be the final version of this skin (barring srs's return).  Hope you enjoy! :D

Sorry I took so long to respond, I've been out of the country for the past 2 weeks on vacation.  I'm not sure what problem you are having since your weather appears to be updated in the screenshot you provided.  When you set the city's lattitude & longitude, did you also search for the city in the config application using the right city code from weather.com?

I just started using POOM scrolling and liked it, so I created an alternative version of this skin with this new feature.  It also includes a POOM refresh button.  Hope you like it as much as me. :)

If you are asking how to add icons to the Games page of the Launch section, you need to create a third Shortcuts Group in the config application and define the shortcuts to your games there.

P.S.  Glad you got your other problem solved! :D

How can I get the news desctiption to display more then 3 lines. When I clck on the new title and when the descriptio comes up it only shows three line and then gets cut off.

The most recent updates to this skin have a "down" button in the top-left corner of the news description screen that expands the description to 6 lines.
