I found a nice skin on a german board. I'm using it now and made a dutch translation for it. You can find it here:

I didn't make this skin!!! It's from a german guy Wichtel.
I only did the translation.
For now I'm not going to translate this one into english, because I'm taking a 3 weeks holiday without a computer! :shock:

Even though I don't speak German, it shouldn't be that hard to translate the skin into English. In fact, I was going to have look at working on it over the weekend.

I had to contact Wichtel for the dutch icons, because some of the translated text is hardcoded into the icons. He was more than willing to translate them for me. I did provide him with the correct translation.

Yes they must have been twins seperated at birth.
The problems with translation I think will be in the png files. The art work has German on it. So you would have to edit the art also.
Yep I did most of the changes on the artwork... I was just not sure what the german meant so I guessed. To make it easy for myself I did not change the names on the png files... and I renamed all the pertinent items in the skin. I think I have it about 95% done...
I am just not sure how two of the application buttons work.. the Refresh Arrow... and the Last one... the Blue Button...
I thought one was for the launcher.. but I see that it is on the main screen.

It's a good thing you didn't rename the artwork. For the translation of the artwork I've contacted Wichtel. He translated the artwork into dutch, after I provided the wright text. Maybe you can do the same.

The "forced" refresh starts if you are on the first screen and push on the time after "Updated: xx:xx"
The arrow is for the "Shortcut Groups". The first group is presented on the main screen, the second, third, .... are presented after you push the arrow.
The bleu button at the bottom has to function with a set "apps-6" that Wichtel provides on the first link. Getting it to work is not easy (a lot of questions in the german forum).
If you're not sure what a german word mean, please feel free to ask. I speak Dutch, German and English.
It looks like LightMan has discontinued development of HandyPlus Pro, due to all the copies out there. I don't blame him at all. The TP community will be losing a great artist. And a great skin.

Looks like Hammerskin wins after all. Methinks Lightman can still finish his Pro skin. Shame he didn't have time to finish it earlier. He can sure come up with ideas of how to improve or even transform it completely into something else. I hope he does, as I do like his skins a lot and was looking forward to the Pro skin.

Thanks Motormuis I really appreciate the help with the english translation... I had done most of the artwork but I think I will redo it all... (and get it right this time)... I thought the German translation for some of this was re-loading...
I will do the work as I get the chance and when it is complete I will post it here. Along with any questions...
Now if you can figure out where "apps-6" folder is suppose to go... that would help... to start with... and if they ever figure out how to make it work that would be a bonus...
You shouldn't have to use the app 6 you can change that in the skin. I have done it in many skins. here is an example from the skin.

Change it to this and it will look at group 2

So you look in the skin change the shortcut to look for another location in the config.
Basicly it is saying look in group 6 item number 8 in the group. The 8 can of course be changed depending on the way it is loaded in config.
In the config you can have it listed as

apps2
apps3
apps4
apps5
apps6
Or it could be set up as
quick
word apps
maint1
maint2
maint3
sys apps6
It all depends on how the skin looks at the name of the group.

What does Nix mean...???
I have a problem the file is to large... is there another way for me to upload it...???
The apps 6 folder contains the apps for shortcuts that you setup in the config file. I have mine from previous skins in the today plus folder, on my SD card. I then point the config to these apps. The only thing you need to do is look in the txt file for the number for each app so you no the order it loads.
Try to zip the file, if you mean loading to the board. If not contact Jim and he mite have to change the upload limits. If that is possible.
I don't think so... the apps-6 folder has a few links that lead to the backlight, reset, and suspend functions...
I am guessing they are somehow attached to the last button on the menu... the "pretty blue" one... I am just not sure how to make them work. I guess I need to go through the skin again... and have a better look.

I think you mean the word "Nix" that is standing in a blue square. The english translation could be "Nothing" or "Empty".

I have it working, I even have the shortcuts working. Also how do you set up filters in config.
Edit: I have temporally removed the English version of Wichtel's HammerSkin translated by Ripper pending Wichtel's approval for its distribution. I hope to have it back up soon.
I have noticed that there are alot of posts over at the original forum where Hammerskin came from... since I don't speak German... but I am nosey... I would like to know what is going on.
It seems to me that Wichtel is taking some heat with the similarities of Lightman's HandyPro and his Hammerskin... Can someone chime in and tell us what is going on...???
It would be a shame to lose Lightman or Wichtel as skinners...
I didn't meddle in this discusion, that I (without my knowledge) started.

I didn't steal the idea, I had the idea in May of this year and putted an update in the PPC-Welt to follow. When I saw the skin of LightMan I thought the same as Lightman "somebody has the same idea".
It's correct to say that I used the images from LightMan, because they were great and I couldn't make anything better. I didn't asked LightMan if it was good to uses the images, because more people in the forum where using the same kind of images, so I thought nobody would blame me.
I make my apologies for this to LightMan in public!
Furthermore I didn't programmed everything by myself, but I've never made a secret of it and there are several remarks about that in the german forum about asking questions about the skins. I looked in the coding of the skins and learned about it.
The code of the LightMan Skin wasn't available, only the images. So I'm (Wichtel) angry that I'm accused about stealing the complete package.
And last but not least, after the announcement of the Hammerskin in TodayPlus V2 by Motormuis, the download went crazy. Several questions are asked about the skin and the same people now point to me.
I think that's not right, so I removed the package as I believe it's not nice to LightMan's Images. I ask everybody to do the same with the foreign language from HammerSkin and wait until the new packages with the new images are available.
So, please, let us stop with all the namecalling, commenting and so on and go on with what we can do best, making skins and helping eachother.

After all the heat that aparently was generated after I aborted my HandyPlus Pro skin, I think its time to make a statement, since it appears that some people are taking things way too far :
1) Wichtel didn't exactly "steal" anything. He just did what so many other skinners did before him. Some asked before, some didn't. For that fact alone, no one should be accused of stealing, since sharing ideas has always been one of the strong points of the TP community/skinners. The material we're talking about here isn't copyrighted anyway.
2) Lots of skinners (myself included) used other skinner's ideas at some stage in order to improve their skins. Again, some asked, some didn't. Personally I've always asked because I also like that people ask me before seeing my ideas elsewhere, but that's me. Anyway, again, for that fact alone, no one should be accused of stealing.
3) Saying that Wichtel stole the complete package is simply stupid. As he rightly said, the skin wasn't available to download yet, so he couldn't have "stolen" any code.
4) As you can read on the post I wrote about aborting my skin (http://www.pdacorps.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=3559&PN=1&TPN=1) , the fact that led me to stop developping that skin was the fact that I didn't want to keep working on a skin that would seem like a copy of other skins already released or nearing release, since my idea had already been used by others (and some graphics).
They could have asked before? Yes they could. Can they be called thieves because of that? I don't think so, because as I mentioned before, using good ideas from other skinners was/is common among TP skinners.
As I assumed on my post,
it was my mistake to post the screenshots and then take so long to release the skin, eventually giving others enough time for this to happen. I also mention on my post that I don't blame others for using ideas that are good, although obviously I can't help feeling disappointed that it happened with a skin I was writing from scratch and even more since it happened before I released it. So, that led me to the decision that is known.
So, I'm hoping that this post here will put an end to this situation and those who blamed Wichtel or called him names without knowing all the facts or reading my original post should apologize to him.

Sorry I have been away for a few days so I could not chime in... but I feel the same way... everyone of us that have done any skinning owes something to someone else. I feel we are a community of people trying to share our ideas, abilities and work...
People should be applauded for giving up their time and work for the rest of us to enjoy... afterall... Wichtel didn't have to share the work he had done... he did it to contribute to the community...
As I have done from the outset I want to thank... Wichtel and Lightman for their work in the past... and what efforts they wish to provide in the future... and JHollins for his contributions...
AND thank-you to Motoruis for the translation... so we know what is going on...
I figured I should give everyone an update on the status of the download of the English translated version of the HammerSkin.
With Motormuis help in translating (who is hopefully having a great time on his vacation :)), I have been in contact with Wichtel. He asked that all distribution of the translated skins be stopped pending his creation of new images and his release of v1.04. He has stressed that unfortunately, this updated version has to be translated again into English.
I have been keeping on eye on PPC-Welt for its releases. Until than, everyone be patent.
Oh... I was unaware of that... why was this done...???
Obviously with the latest posts by Lightman that even he feels that the work should be distributed... the only downside was that he was not informed prior to the use of his artwork.
I personally do not see why Wichtel should feel compelled to pull this release from distribution...
I wanted to apologize to Wichtel in this forum since I can't speak German. I was critical of his skin in the PDACorps thread (http://www.pdacorps.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?PID=21110&FID=15&TID=3559&TPN=1#21110) since I had only seen the images posted on the German site. I too have borrowed ideas and images for my skins from others. I took some heat myself (rightly so) for borrowing images from Juni for use in my OSX Complete skin (http://www.pdacorps.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?PID=20283&FID=15&TID=3457&TPN=1#20283), without asking for Juni's permission. I was unaware that Wichtel did not have access to any of LightMan's code and was only borrowing the images and some ideas from his HandyPlus Pro skin. I hope we do see Wichtel's skin re-released.
The unfortunate thing is for those that didn't get the Wichtel skin... they will now not have access to Lightman's skin either... so the community loses all the way around.
This whole incident was very unfortunate, but people tend to be very sensitive when TodayPlus is involved. Hopefully a new set of icons will be available soon and Wichtel will release the skin again. We have all reacted to these things in many different ways, but hopefully we learn from these things.

Since LightMan isn't releasing his skin, can someone post the translated version which used his graphics? I'm really fond of his work, and even if it isn't fully his, I'd prefer it over the other version.
I believe that Wichtel requested that version not be distributed anymore due to the "controversy". My guess is that if anyone posted it here, it would probably just be deleted by the moderators to comply with Wichtel's request.

Wichtel, never said he doesn't want the HammerSkin every distributed again. He just asked that v1.03, the one with LightMan's images not be distributed, pending his release of v1.04. Since it is okay'd by LightMan, any chance someone can post just the image directory from 1.03? As much as I accept Wichtel's decision to use his own images, since HandyPro is canceled, I'd still like to use LM's images.
To be honest there is not much to choose between the old and new images... there are only two that are different from my quick overview of them...

I have a version of Hammerskin 1.04 translated into English for my own use - I have made no changes to the graphics, only to the skin file itself. I have also not translated any file names etc. - that would just be too much work esp. if 1.05 comes out etc. There are a few minor cosmetic modifications as well (again, to suit my own use). Should I post it here? :?:

Lightman - Wonderful concept - I waited with bated breath for HandyPlus 2.0 but once you cancelled I just had to go with Hammerskin. :oops:

Hi, everyone, this my first time to post so please go easy on me. I like to share some of modification I done in Hammerskin. By the way, this is a great free skin. But I am not sure how to post screen shot here. So if no image shows up, I will need someone to help me with that. :D
Here are the things I changed.
1) In the poom page, I would like to have more space for events listing, so I add a button at the upper-left corner. Tap it will close/open the two months calendars. This allows me to look specific date if necessary.
2) I put poom filters in this page. This was not in original Hammerskin. Therefore I only need to stay this region for the calendar and task. This will let me to use task page for something else.
That is it for now.

Wichtel has asked that v1.03 translated skins not be posted. Although I don't think he would object to posting screen captures of it.
If you like to post the v1.03 skin, I am sure Motormuis or broesel will help in translating your request if you need the help.
Well, I think, the only thing from the SkinVersion 1.03 that not should be posted, are the icons,
so if you only post the skintext here, it should be no problem.

That is where I don't understand the reasoning... the icons for v1.03 are more or less the same as v1.04 I really only see two icons that differ. The problem is that the names of the artwork changed from v1.03 to v1.04
I have sent a complete set of the icons to Jhollin's to post for the English version of 1.04 and I have also supplied him with the complete package for the English version of Hammerskin v1.03 I have revised some of Wichtel's work so the latest skin is v1.03.3 if Jim is willing to post it. I take no credit for any work done... this is all Wichtel's I just tweaked it a bit. And of course the inspiration and original art from Lightman.
For me this is the best skin available to date... I even like it more than any of the commercial offerings.

As mentioned earlier in the thread I have had some problems with the translation of the v1.04 skin... so I will stay with v1.03 and my tweaks...
The only differences I see in the artwork for v1.03 and v1.04 are the buttons for "HOME" and the button for "SYSTEMS" other than that I have not noticed anything different.
For those that are not aware the last button (Blue one) is set to turn off the PocketPC... saving on the hardware button... but could be configured for something else.
Attached are the images for HammerSkin v1.04 that Ripper has taken the time to translate into English.
If you still need the translated English version of the skin, swm1605 has provided that to us in this post (http://www.jhollin1138.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=9478#9478).

By "Systems" section I assume you mean the page displayed when you press the button second from the bottom on the left hand side.
Are you refering to Wichtel's untranslated 1.04 skin or to the 1.04E English translation skin I provided recently? :?: If its my translation, is anybody else experiencing these problems - obviously I'm not or I wouldn't have posted the translation but if there is a problem I would like to find and fix it. :? Can you provide a little more detail :?:

Hi SWM1605....
I was having problems with your translation. But it was something I did in the file... I renamed my Hammerskin image files to Hammerskin20 and Hammerskin21, and for whatever reason I got this error. If I leave them with the original names there are no problems.
Thanks for the translation but at this point I will probably stay with v1.03
By the way if there are any problems with the graphics let me know... and I will do what I can to correct them.

You are welcome to use the version 1.03 and further distribute, but without Lightman's icons.
I have replaced these 8 icons (of Lightman) in version 1.04 by own and renamed the names. I have partly used sources at the one of Lightman and I have partly also made new ones.
Unfortunately, I cannot understand why you want still to use version 1.03 since some improvements were made in the Skintext in version 1.04. By these improvements the Skin got a little faster.
It is better in my opinion to use the version 1.04 only since the Skin contains less faults.
I hope that it is cleared thus now definitely.

Unfortunately my browser translates only half of the ppcwelt and mixes the german and english so I can barely understand what's going on. So I tend to stick with this forum which I must say has been my good fortune to come accross.

I suspect this you would like to have an additional Plugin under the Skin. Rotlaus has gone into trouble and reduces the Skin in the height . In the Screenshot (http://www.jhollin1138.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=9516#9516) you can see another Plugin under the Skin.
Unfortunately, no English translation exists for this yet

I have checked everything now once again and can't establish any change. The Cancelled Button remains invisible and it comes still worse, the complete badge strip partly disappears from the right side.
Within the next days, I must check this once again, because it also can be connected that I already work on version 1.05.

Thanks Wichtel... it is just that I have finally gotten the Hammerskin to what I want... that for me to use v1.04 I would need to make all the revisions. I will try and find some time to update v1.04 and ask JHollin to post it.
I am currently heading back to school so finding time may be difficult, but I will do what I can when I can find the time.

I would like to apologize that it was not very clear when I posted Agenda.zip and Agenda1.zip. I did not include png files (for buttons) in the zip file and the text file only included the codes for region 9. My original intention was to let users can just put the codes into region 9.
Here is my latest package. In this package,
1) Two complete Hammerskinv1.04 (German Version) with either Poom or Poom plus calendar (open/close). I have tested these two and they worked on my device just like the way they was designed. However, since my laptop is in foreign language OS, it is possible that you will see some strange characters in the skin. Again, there are two extra files "only" contain region 9 codes, in case you need copy and paste into your skin.
2) The icons were included in the package. These are from LightMan's previous HandyPlus Basic skin. (LightMan, I should ask you first).

3) However, the category icons are not included in this package. You need to find the ones you like and put into image folders.
4) You should be able to find necessary information in the readme.txt. If I missed anything or you have any question, please feel free to post here or PM me. I will do my best.

Someone asked me to put poom filters in the Hammerskinv1.04_reduced by Rotlaus. Here it is. There are only 3 skin files in this zip file.
Hammerskin1[1].04_ReducedEng:.txt Just translation of Rotlaus skin. I can not take the credit of translation. I used the English version from swm1605 and just do copy/paste. We should thank swm1605 for translation.
Hammerskin1[1].04_Reduced_PoomEng.txt: The Rotlaus_Eng with poom filters.
Hammerskin1[1].04_Reduced_Poom_CEng.txt: The Rotlaus_Eng with poom filters plus calendar open/close
The icons you need for poom filtes/calendar open/close are in the previous zip file I posted before. The screenshots in that package also can help you set up the filters and catergory icons.

At the bottom of the skin there is an imagebutton looks like this.

This button is connected to a folder called apps-6 in your TP folder you have to setup in the TP config file an apps-6 group and the first shortcut will be suspend so when you tap on this button it will call to apps-6 program 1.
If you need help there is a txt file which comes with the skin. I don't know if it has been translated.

I think I need more help Joel. I created a folder called apps-6 in my TP directory and there are programs called suspend, backlight, and reset in there. I created a shortcuts group called apps-6, but for some reason the reset button on the main screen does not reset the system. Interestingly, if I go to the shortcuts screen, the reset icon is there and when I press it it works. Any ideas?

Did you use the browse button in config to point it to the folder and suspend or did you just type it in? If you typed it in you mite not have it correct. Also the order in the TP config must be correct. That is the only things that would prevent it from working.

You should look in your config program on wich place your apps-6 resides.
In this example it's on the third place, with the suspend-function on the first place, so the correct syntax in the txt file should be:
%Apps-3-1-highlight
The apps-6 it's just a name. In the above syntax it's the place in the config.
In the original HammerSkin manual says, that you should place the group apps-6 on the six place in the shortcuts. In this example it's on the third place with a change in the txt file.
I hope it's clear, succes....!
I will try to provide translated instructions to the Skin next week. It is also to configure detailed instructions like Apps 6 in addition to this. The German users also had problems with that.
A new problem has been confessed at the moment. Icon number 11 (all 4 groups, small icons) is missing respectively in the Launcher (Misspelling when developing the Skin ). I will provide a small update with further improvements at the weekend (Version 1.04a)
Edit: I still will publish a short instructions for the Shortcuts tonight (GMT + 2 Hours)
@JTod: in the config.exe the apps-6-group has to be the 6th group,
so if you didn't configure that, it won't work.
f.ex. you have to create 5 groups first:
1 - apps
2 - games
3 - utilities
4 - and so on
5 - the 5th group
6 - apps-6
The names of the groups are freely configurable and can be as you like.
If they aren't in the right order, you can move them by selecting and
click on the arrows to move it down or up.

Ok, I have found a way to download the radar images from internet without using IE. The idea was "inspired" by LT. I work out the details in next few days and will post here for anyone want to use it. But before doing so, I need to get a permission from author of a "free" program I used. Initially, it might not be very user frendly. If anyone or myself find a better way, then please feel to do so. Here are some outlines.
Once setup,
1) The radar image of each cities will be downloaded from internet (your preferred site) and saved as cityid.png/gif/jpg in a particular folder within TP.
2) The radar image can be called out by user whenever is needed by a button within TP.
3) The refresh button can be used to download the "updated" image for each or all cities if necessary within TP.
Again, the image will be downloaded via HTTP without using IE. If you have any suggestion or thoughts please post here to see I will be able to do it. :wink:

Hi, I got an email from Mr. Nishimura Masataka who is the author of EzDownload. He said there is no problem to use his software for our purpose. So here is my simple instruction to use his program to download radar image for TP to use.
1) If anything is not right, please let me know. I tested it and worked on my IPAQ. I son't know the other device, let me know if it works on yours. I will updated if it is necessary.
2) The zip file include, ReadMe (word Document with some screen shot), city1.exe, the site to download EzDownload is in the ReadMe file, also you need WinHex, again ths site also in there, 4 image files.
3) The city1.exe will download a radar image of Washington,DC from accuweather.com.
4) I also included a simple instruction to change URL and cityid.gif using WinHex. But if anyone has a better way to do it. Please share with us.
5) Since this is just a beginning of idea, a lot of improvement needs to be done. For instance, it is still a lot of work to set up city.exe.
6) At beginning, if you need me to help you with city.exe, please send me th URL address and cityid. I will complier the exe for you and send you back. However, if Jim is willing, I can upload to here and anyone can download it.
7) Just a remindar, since this an exe, I would encourage you to scan with anti-virus program beofre you use them.
8) Again, I will help you if you have any question.

I found a major mistake in the ReadMe. The "EzDownload" should be in "Windows" not in "Program Files". Also, as requested, citi1g.exe will save file in Programme/TodayPlus/Images/Radar. You can find the file in the zip.

The things I've found for The Netherlands are this nice (http://weerkamer.nl/weer/radar/radar.fpl?uur=3) radar pic and
this nice (http://www.weathernews.nl/freedata/radar_blue_16.gif) radar pic. This radar pic (http://www.weer.nl/images/weer/kaarten/nederland/radar/radar2.jpg) is too large, I suppose.
Maybe, these examples can help by forming new ideas.

I totally agree with you guys. I was also trying to find the right radar image for international cities several weeks ago. The image was too "big" interms of size and cover area. I would suggest to see you can find some from local tv station weather site. This will give you more details in your area, however the size might not good for PPC. But maybe there is something we can try to fit it in. An other option is go back to use IE to download and view the radar image.
If anyone can find the useful URL sites, please let me know. Just post url sites here. It will just take me only 1 minute to complier the exe. I will be happy to do it. I also trying to see I can modify the program to get url infromation from a text file. But this is "way above" my limit right now. If anyone is willing to help, please jump in.

It´s worked fine, the basic idea is good. We still will see how we do this definitely. At the moment, I still have noticed two things:
1st If I don't have any current weather data, I cannot have any radar picture shown either. So we must accommodate the button somewhere else. At the moment, but this isn't so important
2nd If I look at the radar picture and update the data, the start strip appears below in the picture. Is this a fault in the Exe? or this is at you also so?

1st: Yes, we can change that one later.
2nd: When you update the radar, yes a part of "EzDownload" will show up at the buttom of task bar, then it will disappear after the file is downloaded. If you "deactivate" wisbar for a moment , you can see it clearer. It is the way of "EzDownload" working.
By the way, do you have some links to your favor German TV station websites? I can try to download some image there.

I got a new idea for viewing radar image. Most likely it is very difficult to get the right size for international cities. If we can download all the required radar or satellite image into Radar folder (or other), then it is possible to call an external image viwer in TP and all the image can be displayed as thumbnail list. Tap on that the particular one will be displayed and even you can move around if the image is too big or you can zoom out to see a borad area. Of course, we need to find a free one to do that. How do you think? I will try to see I can make it work.

I think I have a way to put your home town at the center of display, but I need know where it is. I am also working on the 8-way navigation in the radar image. Problem: Did you test EzDownload alone? If you did, check the url address in the window again. Most likely you did copy/paste and put the extra "http" in there. The "http://" already in the url address window. If you were talking about the citi1NL.exe, I tested and it worked on my device.
As for your curious question, I just stepped in the PPC world this April and discovered the TP program. So, I was never so "active" before. This gives me some opportunity to learn the new things.
Thanks for your complement, I was inspired by so many experts here and there. Great to contribute what I have learned.
The zip file contains 9 image (4 from Hammerskin, 1 from HandyBasic2.1 by LightMan, 4 new-made) and 1 text file. Only region 19 skin codes is in the text file. The image files need to be place in the same folder as your radar image in.
The button will move the map to the pecific direction for 25 pixels. If you wish, you can change that number to give you smaller or bigger movement. The button right next to refresh button is reset button that allows you move back to the defaule position at once.
I am a bad artist, so the 4 new arrows at corners probably not very "professional". So if you do have some better ones, please share with us. This is just prototype and a lot of room can be approved. I still trying to find a way to redraw image after tap the button. Currently, there is a "gap" (probably 2 seconds) between "tap" and "redraw". Anyway, the idea worked, just need to be "tune-up".

On my computer at home everything works fine, but my computer at work refuses to let my pda go on internet for downloading. That's due to one of the settings in the Windows NT network.

Timmy, How does this look to you? You can add a small image indicate that is your home town or add the name of city. Using the same approach you can label other cities on the map too. Ok, here are the codes you need in the region 19. Please notice the position of the codes.

If you and anyone need my help to set it up for other radar or satellite image, just post here. Codes can be writen to customerize each city and label the key cities in the image. And can be moved with the image if you use navigation buttons. Another feature I am looking it is pop-up weather icons for the cities on the image...

Every exe has typed one Url in. This URL isn't difficult to change (Hex editor). The only problem is the number of letters. Make simply more Exe with an increasing number of letters . The user only must the letters in the URL count, takes the Exe with the corresponding number of letters and change her with the editor. You have a lot to do at the moment but after which it then is to do nothing more. What do you think of it?

You must seeing, how many letters being needed (Minimal-Maximal) of course you must produce appropriately many exe . Then You give the exe e.g. the name: 23 letter.exe. The user counts the letters of the URL, sees these are 23, uses the Template with 23 letters and changes the Url.

Go to the site and right click on the image, select property then you should see the url address. If you see the number looks like the date, or time in the url address, then the file's name will be assoicated with the time it is created. At this moment, the exe I generated can not handle this situation. :roll:

• another threads with new to devellop other ideas. I have some wishes I couldn't work out for myself, but with the help of other skinners there will be a solution, I hope.

I don't have a problem with anyone starting a new thread in the New Skins / Graphics (http://www.jhollin1138.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=6) section to discuss the Radar EXE. Also, a new thread could also be started in the HammerSkin (http://www.jhollin1138.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=13) section as well. At this time, I don't find it necessary to designate a new forum section to it.

If you make a shorcut to the radar image and call it from TP. Your default image viewer will open it out. For my IPAQ, it is ipaq image zone and you can zoom and move the image. I think most of people can take this advantage and don't need a region just see the radar image. Also for those "big" radar image, right now you can see without any problem.
I don't think it is necessary at this time either, but in the future it mite be necessary.

This is the jumping point. Of course I have several towns but I just think about two different versions
The 1st solution lasts for little countries like Germany. Since most towns lie within Germany it suggests actually to nothing that the same radar picture is shown 5 times. Another solution will be appropriate here. It makes more sense to set up a region which has a menu. I can select several pictures in this menu (Germany, Europe, etc)
The 2nd solution is for bigger countries like the USA. Absolutely make sense there that the radar pictures are in cover with a town. So how you have represented this already in the code.
In the end will decide be what you both achieve with the exe
I spent about 5 minutes getting it going, so I can't guarantee how stable everything is, you might find this useful.

We could use an developer corner, Becoming only things for the development posted in this one. This Thread is turned into the general chat about the skin. We need a Thread where Newbies can put ask, to koniguration of the Skin(FAQ). I also would like to alter the downloads to the different languages (Motormuis has organized it for the Dutch language very well) . Since I have made some mistakes at the translation of the Skin into English it would suit me fine if swm1605 looks after the English Skin. I then still make one Thread extra for the BASIC downloads as images or weather icons because jhollin1138 has equipped me with a very big upload Quota (Again many thanks in this place) So we would have the whole thing beautifully openly and, if a new comes in the forum, immediately he finds what he searches without, that he must search endless long Threads .
What do you think of it? Please tell your opinions
The bigest problem with most forums is that the skin file is updated but the old file remains on the board. If the Skin writer would replace the old with the new at the top of the first post nobody would have to search hundreds of threads looking for the latest skin. How do you feel about that.

I have few ideas on how to make this easier.
1) The skinners PM me the file they would wish to post. I can upload it directly to the website and then a link could be included in the post to the file. Similar to how these two files (http://www.jhollin1138.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=4#4) are posted. Then when an update is made, as long as the file name hasn't changed, when I re-upload the file the current version would be available. (The downside to this, nothing can be done until I upload the file to the website. This also, means more work for me. :P )
2) All the members of the forum that are in the Skinner Group (http://www.jhollin1138.com/forums/groupcp.php?g=833) could be issued an FTP account to the my web space and manage the file them selves. (The downside to this, I have to now manage the FTP uploads that are being stored on my web space. The skinners could easy use my web space to store their favorite mp3 for access anywhere. :roll:)
3) Probably the best method is that the poster simply starts a new thread with the skin in the first post. The poster then, updates this attachment to the latest version using the "Edit" button on the post. (I have observed that this is the method that Wichtel has been using over at PPC-Welt (http://www.ppc-welt.info/community/showpost.php?p=386668&postcount=2). :approve:)

Who makes a new download thread also should keep it on the newest stand (Edit funktion)
As I have already further said above (http://www.jhollin1138.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=9693#9693)I like to take on the BASIC downloads (Images, Icons and the other stuff) of all languages if it should be necessary you then only must interlink of yours to my Thread so you only must take care of the Skintext.
I also think that the date the skin was modified should be posted. This way you are getting the latest. The top post should have the change log there also. In other words what was changed.

I always have a small Changelog posted from version to version so the users always were able to see what is up-to-date. I have always kept the area current with the Edit function.

I have changed the maximum number of attachments to a post to 20 instead of 2. This is a system wide change, so everyone should be able to do it.
There is still a maximum 256 KB limit for the file size for all attachments. Also, the assigned maximum quotas are unchanged.

now i don't want to see the agenda and news ticker
i tried: defregion,cleararea,clearregion
and eventhough i got rid of the toolbar i still see the appointments and the rss news
how can i make them disappear (but only for one page of region 2)?

I replied your PM for not seeing days letter above the calendar. Did you go into the configure to edit from there? If you did define your abbreviation, then did you change anything in your skin?
I think the easier way to remove "apponitment" and "rss news" is just to comment out the codes, then move the shortcuts up.

You have to define these Abbrivations in the config.exe
(Edit-Button on then General-Page)

i did what you suggested with regions 5,6
however now when i move to the "normal" first page they remain blank
i tried :if,region,2,0
jumpregion,5,0
and the same for region 6
but then there is a two layer text because after a while the regions refresh
so this is not the solution
i also tried that when i use the button to move to the first page those region will be updated however i encountered with same problem
got any other suggestion?

ran: What did you exactly do to region 5 and 6? Since region 5 and 6 are also connected to region 2,0. There are updateregions,5 and updateregions,6 in region,2,0. You really don't need to do extra things.
Let me get a clear picture what you want to do. So when you start the TP, you would like to have start-up page showing your picture. In that case, try region,2,1,0 It should lock your picture.

a little supplement for the chat of this morning: change the size of the buttons (code) in region 2,1 on the size of your Userpic then it will more easily to meet the button. :wink:
Guys, I am using the RSS feature quite heavily & was wondering if there is a way to break the RSS into sections....i.e. A section for PC, PPC, Games...etc..etc...
Not sure if this is possible or could be added to a new version of Hamerskin......
Oh, listens to it difficult, however, must be possible theoretically. If this is worked to configure it, however, very heavily be. I per default won't install something like that into the Skin but one could find an individual solution at occasion for you.
