Hi, I was wondering if anybody knows of a Hammerskin variant that displays properly in 03 SE in landscape? Thanks.
Quote from: bartybotHi, I was wondering if anybody knows of a Hammerskin variant that displays properly in 03 SE in landscape? Thanks.
bartybot:
First, welcome to TP forum.
Second, at this time I don't think any of the Hammerskin variants can be used in WM2003SE landscape mode. In the skin, all the text and image were displayed at specific (x,y). When it switches to landscape, you gain the width but lose the length. All of them will stay the same places just like they would in 240x320. Anything below 240 will be lost and you get around 50 pixels (blank) in the width.
I need to correct my statement.
I tried Hammerskin on hx4705. Without using SE_VGA, the Hammerskin can be displayed as full screen but the quality of "everything" were not good. If I use SE_VGA, then it only showed 1/4 size as expected.
Hi guys...
I'm converting Hammerskin in lanscape for my personnal use, if someone need it just tell me...
In fact, i'm under WM2003 (not SE) and developping the landscape version need Nyditot Virtual display or Dotpocket or anything else... The version will be for a 240x320 display...
If someone know another landscape software that does not need a soft reset for the changing of the display, tell me too...
Bye

Tetsuo: I am interesting. If you need any help that you think I can provide, please let me know.

Yes, I was awaiting for some answer...
I have move all information from bottom to side, the navigation bar (I don't know how to call this bar in english, il France we call it "ascenseur") does not disapear...
I configure the region correctly (I think) but still don't know...
I just make an update of the first page for the moment...
Some idea???

Do you have a screenshot?
The main page looks like this. Something wrong in systemstatus page. 6 icon were missing. But look cool. Keep good working!!!
After several hours attempt, here is what I have for Hammerskin in VGA device. This time I changed the position and used SE_VGA to displayed as in true VGA. The fonts is super-clear but the graphics are not great. You can see the difference if you compare the font in the previous post. It was done in QVGA mode. Becuase I have no talent in art, the best I can do was just resize the graphic and did a little bit sharpening. I will wait until some expert to make great icons to go with it.
What is the size of the "images"?
Maybe there are graphical wonders outthere, who can provide some new..
uk_skinner : as you can see on your screen shot, the bar on the side (still don't know how to call it   ), is still present... How to remove it ?
Do I have to resize all regions ? Actually, I just resize the main page and the maxheight like this :
- for the maxheight :
maxheight,267
height,267
- for the main region :
defregion,2,0,0,210,267,1
Need some help, please
OK, I find the problem :
I replace
offset,0,267 (at the end of the skin) by
offset,0,187
And it works good

It is VGA (480x640 or 640x480 in landscape). I need find a way to make it smaller. As you can see I am no artist. :knownot: Yes we need some graphical wonders.
Grin... I mean the size of the buttons and the weather icons.....
Cool, anyone have a modified SE non-vga version I could download? Thanks.
Quote from: bartybotCool, anyone have a modified SE non-vga version I could download? Thanks.
bartybot: I need to make an apology becuae the title of this thread was not "accurate". The screenshot I posted here was from WM2003SE VGA device. The Hammerskin was not for SE landscape if that is you want. Sorry..
No problem, the fact that you are taking your free time to do this is really appreciated, oh ownage one.
Hello...
The landscape version is in development, I do my best to release it quickly...
Hello...
@ uk_skinner : how do you make your landscape screenshot ? I use GetPDAScreen, and I think that it is not compatible with WM2003 (not SE) and Nyditot Virtual Display (for the landscape)... All I have is :
Tetsuo:
I used the one comes with iPAQ, but here is a free one you can try.

I have an iPaq H2210, do you think I have this software ?
Quote from: TetsuoI have an iPaq H2210, do you think I have this software ?
Possible, do you have iTask?
I have iTask on my PPC, yes...
Quote from: TetsuoI have iTask on my PPC, yes...
Good,
Setting-->System-->iTask Setting
Label: 1:iTask
Icon: iTask
Menu Item: 0: Delay Capture
Replace With: "tap the small triangel and you will see 3 folders show up in the window below. Open "Internal Folder", you will see Capture and Delay Capture". I like Delay Capture"
Press "iTask" button, then tap "hp" image, and the image will be saved as bmp in your root folder. Then look file name like "Captxxxx".
Oh, what's cool !!! Thanks
I finished Landscape version yesterday...
Please let me know any commentary...
PS : I'm french, and I developped a french version, so if someone is motivated for the translation...
Tetsuo:
Bravo, bravo   :approve:
The one for WM2003SE VGA is coming up...
I will try to finish the whole package today and post here. Here is the screenshots.
1) I will call it 1.5 because it is not perfect yet for image. This package will be just like QVGA version of Hammerskin1.04a. The x,y coordinates in the skin were adjusted for 480x640 resolution. Man!! there were a lot  . Hopefully, I covered everything.
2) The images will be just resized 4 times bigger for VGA. As you know, the quality of them will not be great. But this is a start. Once Witchtel releases 1.5, hopefully he has some time to help me to create the high quality of original images.
3) Meanwhile I did some search and found some useful images and resize them. This screenshots of them and the package will be released later.
4) The skin and images were all tested in hx4705. It does require a small adjustment in order to let TP run in VGA. This will be described in a text file.
Edit: Fail to upload the screenshots and probably will have the problem to upload the package of images too since I "overspent" my Quota.. :?  . Jim I guess I need to send you the files...

UK_skinner,
You can email me some of your little pics, and the same ones in VGA (4 times bigger). I'll try to make the little pics of a better quality in VGA then the ones you created.
It's just a trial. I don't know if I good do it better then your's are. Give me a chance to try it. Ok?!?

It is ready, but please read the following statements.
1) To take the advantages of WM2003SE VGA device (such as hx4700), it is necessary to make TP program "VGA-Aware". In that way, the OS will not "qudral-pixels" for the text and images in TP and you don't have to use any hack, such as SE-VGA to run TP. A link to show you how to make this patch is included in the readme.txt. But here is the warning as suggested by Jim. Do it with your own risk. No one will responsible for any damage to your device or software or anything. If you think it is too risky, there is a commercial program ($15.00) can do it for you. A simple instruction to set the skin up is included in the readme.txt too. Please feel free to ask any question.
2) As I posted previously, all the images are from original Hammerskin without any "tune-up" except making them 4 times bigger.
Here is the link

Edit: Thanks for great Timmy, right now we have btter images for VGA skin. The original VGA images made by me will be removed.
Here are some icons I collected from Internet and the resolution and size are made for Hammerskin. There is one blue clock image looks very cool. Got this one from the BlueMind-VGA skin that I downloaded from www.ppc-welt.info.

Since uk took the time to VGA the HammerSkin, I took his work and USAed it (I hope this is okay uk...??)
This involved changing the 24 hour times to 12 hour with am/pm and moving the first vertical calendar bar to the left side of the calendar.
Looks like I can't post my skin.... is there anyone who could do this for me??

Uk_skinner,
In the meantime I received your VGA pics, made from the normal (QVGA) pics. You resized them to 200%, but - indeed - that's not with great results... I agree with you.
I also tried to rezise the pics in three several ways, but still the pcitures are not sharp and clear. So I have to redraw several parts of each picture. But that's a job that needed many, many hours of my free weekly hours I have to spend on this hobby. I'm willing to do this job, but I must be sure that
no-one else also is doing this, cause that's waste of time! Is anybody occupied with this job??? If not: I'm beginning this weekend.

I agree with you. I tried one time and gave up becuase it indeed needs a lot of hours and sense of art. I have none of them. The only thing I know is Wichtel mentioned to me that he will come out something once he finishes 1.05. Maybe he will response your question when he see your post. He is the original creator of the images.

What VGA device your are using? Did you use any hack?
Just replaced my HP 5555 with the 4705. I used the hack you described earlier in the thread to T+ and it worked great. I know my screenshot looked bad I was using GetPDAScreen and it reduces it to QVGA.
here is the screen shoot in all of its VGA glory!

Don't be irritated about the VGA images now. :D
The whole thing is only half as heavy as it looks. Although it absolutely lasts for a couple of hours to make the images however, no great problem represents for me.
I am missing only the testing since I don't have a VGA device. You are in demand there now.
You find the "Pfeilrechts.png" in the attachment. This image is used in the signs of the zodiac. Somebody of you should load the image and make a screenshot that I know whether I am on the right way.
Looks good to me Witchel!

And what is QVGA? :knownot: I think I miss everything by oversleeping once again.

Hello Wichtel,
First of all: English is not your native tongue, and not mine! For that reason I hadn't understood your message well!
But now it's clear to me. Thanks for your second post about this subject!
I'll translate your pics to VGA-pics. So you can do other work. OK?
For your information: On our Dutch pda-board we call 240x320-pixel-screens QVGA screens, and the 480x640-pixel-screens VGA screens.

I am not trying to step on Timmy's toes, so Timmy I apologize if this upsets you, very FAR from my intention!
I uploaded uk's VGA images but discovered 4 missing VGA enhanced icons, Battery charged, Battery status ?, CF card and SD card. I created these four images (the first two modifying uk's VGA). It just bugged me when I went to the status page and my cards looked ugly....
uk,
I also updated the USA versions of the VGA skins to accomodate the zodiacs you found (AWESOME!) and the rest of the fixes that I missed... sorry about that....

Uk_skinner,
Thanks for the upload!
There's a problem in rezising to a bigger format: new pixels are made and other pixels were changed... So you never get what you realy want...
But in the particular case of the weather icon: I can use a part of that icon and put it in the HammerSkin icon. That's no problem.
Uk_skinner, I want you to compare the pics of the two versions I made so far. I'll send a picture by mail to you.

EDIT: Uk_skinner, thanks for placing this example in my post! (I wonder how you did manage to do that... )
Question: Who prefers
set1 and who prefers
set1(new)?!? Wichtel: what do you think?!?
Just my $.02 :D
I've tried to resize icons many times now, and I've found that when you do this, there is a "splash" of color created outside and around the image !!
You can sharpen the image, but this only corrects the problem slightly..
What I've found that works the best (for me), is to first sharpen, then to "zoom-in" on the image as far as it will go.. You can then see the "splash" much more.. Then just trim and erase the extra splash as much as possible !!
When viewed at actual pixels once again, the image seems much clearer !!
Not sure if this was any help, but this has worked for me on most images !!
Nice job on the icons, no matter what you do unless you start with a high res image you will get only a small amout of sharpness increase. And like Zapme1 said that splash or over-splash is common.
@Joelw135 & @ZapMe1 & @other members,
Thank you both for your remarks!
I used a different traject for the set4 icons than for the set4(new) icons. And I'm curious to know what icons you liked best. Please, let me know...

Quote from: ZapMe1I like the (New) set.. They seem much sharper and clearer !! What process did you use to do this ? :?:

ZapMe1,
Here's the process:1) Adjust pic1: Resize pic1 200% and use the Bicubic Resample Method.
2) Make a copy1 of pic1, and work further with copy1.
3) Selct the subject of copy1, for instance a clock.
4) Make a new pic of that clock: pic2.
5) Retouch/sharpen pic2.
6) Select the inner site of copy1, and fill that area with the linear gradient filltool.
7) Put pic2 into copy1.
8) Select the inner site of copy1, and bring the selection back into pic1.
Now pic1 is ready. Pffffffffffff.....
