When I attempt to download radar/stocks images, I get the error message "Could not find resource assembly." The first image loads, but nothing else. Help would be appreciated.
demele:
Could you please upload your radar.txt here? Some of error can not be seen if you just post them here.
Will add zip file. Thanks.
dgmele:
Did you upload the file? I don't see it. If you have problem to do it, just email to me uk_skinner@comcast.net.
demele:
Got your email. This forum only will accept .zip so if you zip your file then you should be able to upload.
I could not see any error in your radar.txt and I also got the same error as you did. The url address looked fine and EzDownload can get image without problem. This happened once before. :wall: :knownot:
Try to upload your radar.txt (after zip) here. Perhpas, some other users can take a look. If you still can not upload it, let me know I can do it for you.
Meanwhile, if this is really the case, we can use EzDownload to download the image you wish.
UK_Skinner,
Thanks for the quick response.
Here's the zip file.
dgmele:
I will prepare a package tomorrow for you if you are willing to try EzDownload approach.
Thanks. Don't know anything about EZ Download, but I'm eager to learn and willing to try.

Here it is. I always recommand user to backup the system before they do anything.
1) EzDownload is a free software to download file via http. This is official link. http://masataka.mailbbs.com/ez/en/
2) Unzip the file and you should find 3 files in the folder, EzDownload.exe, RadarTest.exe and RadarTest.txt.
3) Copy EzDownload.exe to /Window. At this moment, that is the only place it can go.
4) You can put RadarTest in any folder but both .exe and .txt has to be the same folder.
5) As you can see when you open RadarTest.txt in Notepad, there are only two lines for each downloading. The first one is "url" and the second one is the file pathway fo downloaded file.
6) You probably noticed that the last 3 url address were little different than your oriinal ones. That is becuase there are certain characters ("&", "=", "%", " ") need to be replaced with %XX. See (in Japanese)http://masataka.mailbbs.com/ez/jp/spec.txt
After that, please try run RadarTest.exe under file explorer and you should see something happened at your bottom task bar. It probably will take less than 10s to finish the downloading. At this point, there will be no "sign" to tell you dowloading is finished or not. If you wish to have a pop-up window, I can add it. Please let me know. Check the folder (Radar, Radar1 and Stocks) to see your files are downloaded.
Once everything is ok, then you can wither goto TP configure to assign a shortcut for RadarTest.exe or call it out direct from the skin using "button" or "imagebutton" code.
Thanks. Will try this and let you know the result.
Wow. Works fine. Thanks so much. However, I did have to move my TodayPlus folder from the My Documents to the Program Files folder, which is inconvenient for transferring files on my PC. But having it work is worth the trade-off.
I like having no announcement window, at least for now. Thanks for your offer, though.
I went to the EZDownload page to determine which symbols had to be changed (for future URLs) but could not read the text. Any help here?
dgmele
The my documents folder is very convenient. It makes it easy to transfer files from PC to PPC. For more options I use software called MobSync. You can set up any folder or file on the PPC to sync with the PC. It can be scheduled to sync when the PPC is first connected and then on a time interval or you can do it manually. The biggest convenience is not having to drill down into nested folders so often.
It is freeware and available here:
http://www.interq.or.jp/punk/doino/home/software.htm
When I make skin changes I edit the skins on the PC with a full screen, keyboard and mouse. I used to have a windows explorer window open to the skins folder on the PPC and used drag and copy to change the file. This caused some errors when I saved the canged skin file, I think it was a sharing violation. MobSync solved the problem. I save the file to the skins folder on the PC and perform a sync.

Thanks once again. I'll take a closer look at all of this tonight when I get home. Looks like another wee hours of the morning for me. :D
I've the same problem as DGMele. I get the error message "Could not find resource assembly."
I've tried the EzDownload packages with the radartest.exe, but nothing works. When I trie to use EzDownload by putting in the url, it "hangs".
Can somebody help? I'dd like to download the dutch version:
QuoteDURL=http://www.weer.nl/images/weer/kaarten/nederland/radar/radar1.jpg
STOR=\Program Files\TodayPlus\Images\Radar\1.jpg
FORM=
(By the way, I can put the url in my browser on my PDA and the images loads fine!)
Motormuis:
I checked the website, the whole url is : http://www.weer.nl/images/weer/kaarten/nederland/radar/radar1.jpg?&number=548309
There is extra things after radar1.jpg. It is tricky. I will see what I can do about it.
Timmy:
Have you tried downloaded this? Maybe you have some trick?
Edit: I can download the image just use the url without the extra thing after radar1.jpg using the EzDwonload.
By the way, the text you posted here was for radar.exe not for any other thing. That configuration only can be used with radar.exe not EzDwonload or radartest.exe
To get radar.exe see here:
http://www.jhollin1138.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=10118#10118
Note, your radar.exe and radar.txt has to be in the same folder .
Motormuis:
Try this one. Unzip and you should find radar.exe and radar.txt. Put them in the same folder and tap .exe to see it can download the fiie.
When I try (second post, zipfile) I get this error:
When I use EzDownload I put in:
http://www.weer.nl/images/weer/kaarten/nederland/radar/radar1.jpg
This causes my PDA to 'hang'.
:wall: :wall: :wall:
It works perfect on my device and I see you also running WM2003.
However, I did see almost identical error message if I disconnected my internet. What internet connection you were using?
I'm behind a corporate firewall, Isa2004.
But I can download / update TodayPlus / etc...
Can you try use EzDownload with this url:
http://image.de.weather.com/web/maps/satellite/regions/europesat_277x187.jpg
I believed this probably will be due to your internet connection or fire wall configuration. My knowledge is very limited ragrading this. The only thing I can think about is to try radar.exe when you go home tonight. Anyone out there has any idea??
Trying the specific URL with EzDownload: (http://www.spoit11.nl/TodayPlus/EzDownload1.png)
Trying the specific URL with MSN Explorer: (http://www.spoit11.nl/TodayPlus/MSN1.png)
Ok, so I am pretty sure that was due to the set-up of the internet connection. Does your company allow employee to download file from the internet? Do you have any PC software that can download the file via http, such as flashget? The two softwares (radar and EZDownload) are made to "download" file and PIE is to browsing the image. That is the difference I am seeing.. :?: :?: :!:
Yip, we're allowed to download files, but only through the normal ports, ftp and http (20/21 & 80). So I don't see any problem.
I've tried FlashGet and with the correct Proxy settings (HTTP, Username, Password) I can download the files.
I ran out of the idea...

Wow, dutch Smilies! Nice!
What I will do, is I'll try this at home in a few hours (it's 17:10 now in Holland). There I have a ADSL connection. I let you all know!

Motormuis & UK_skinner,
Just for your information:• When I'm at home (adsl connection) there is no problem in using Radar.exe or EZdownload.exe.
• When I'm at work (also adsl, but with some proxy-server protections that I don't understand...) Radar.exe still works, but EZdownload.exe blocks everything on my pda and I had to softreset my PPC.
Timmy
Sorry for the late reply, but some other (private) things had to go first.
At home it works fine, so I realy think it has something to do with the Corporate FireWall.
If I know more, I'll let you know.
