EDIT: febr. 23, 2005 --> new pic-names and added 'Feels like' pics
@ALL,
In this thread I'll post the Temperature charts. The idea was born on some other threads of this forum. At least uk_skinner and Broesel were the great initiators, maybe more members, but I don't remember their names at this moment. Thank you, guys!
   In this post you can find the Celcius-chart-files.
This is an example of some of the temperature-backgrounds:
Tips:
• The chart is ment for 24 hours-temperature. If you wish, you can (of course!!) make textlines for only 12 hours in your skinfile.
• Write the necessary textlines in your skinfile and put the desired temperature-background somewhere in your skin. You also can add some text around the chart, if you wish, for example "Celcius" or some temmperatures or whatever you like;
• After you've written the textlines necessary to show the temperature background, you can write the textlines for the pointer-pic of the first hour, the pointer-pic for the second hour and so on, untill the 24th hour.
• Do you want the 'Feels like' pics on the foreground?? Then you have to write the skin-textlines after the temperature-pics.
==> You need uk_skinner's .exe to get the temperature of the 24 hours in the registry of your PCC. The thread that tells you more about this, you can find here (http://forums.jhollin1138.com/viewtopic.php?t=1784) .
 The Celsius.zip files for VGA PocketPC's are here (http://todayplus.jhollin1138.com/files/timmy/Thermo-Celcius-VGA.zip)
 And the Celsius.zip files for QVGA PocketPC's are here (http://todayplus.jhollin1138.com/files/timmy/Thermo-Celcius-QVGA.zip)
NOTE:
I've numbered the pointer-pics from -22°C (-22.png) to 40°C (40.png). I'm not sure if this will remain the picture-list in the future, because at the moment we are discussing what's the best numbering-list and what the best and most easy names are. I'll keep you informed.

Again, great work....
Just finished the PHP script for hourly forecast . The data will give you up to 48 hours of hourly forecast. However, iyou also can specify the window. In other words, you can have every 1, or 2, or 3.......47 hour forecast.
Timmy:
Just downloaded your VGA package. The size of background is 233x100 for VGA. And your scale is from -20C to 63C right?
I have something in my mind and I would like to test it. Would it be possible you can send me just dot images no transparency strip? Thanks.

Thanks, Timmy, I did not mean to get you extra work.
I am using the 480 X 300 for temperature chart and so far I only up for 12 hours.

Uk_skinner,
Here are the
pointers (http://todayplus.jhollin1138.com/files/timmy/Uk_skinner-Celcius.zip) without the transparancy strip. They are now 10x10 pixels. I hope you can use them for your plans...
Timmy
@Uk_skinner, @Broesel and @Wichtel,
I'm glad you like the things I've done.
And you all know it: this time I gave you things, another time you gave me things! That's why I like workplaces like this and some other forums!!!
Timmy
Timmy:
Your pointers worked great.
But I need to confess again that I am no good in art. But with Timmy's works I can just try to express the idea. Here it is. I hope some great skinner out there can make it better.
Uk_skinner,
This is what I want to do for my own skin:
While testing, I noticed some points to improve these backgrounds:
• the innerside (blue to yellow) must be somewhat lighter;
• the x-line can remain where it is, but the little graduation-lines must disappear to make the background more universal.
Timmy
@All,
As I wasn't satisfied with the result of my first serie, so I rebuild the backgrounds and the pointers:
• The innerside (blue to yellow) of the backgrounds is more clear now.
• the x-line can remained where it was, but the little graduation-lines are deleted to make the background more universal.
• The demensions of the backgounds are changed to 183x52 pixels (QVGA) and to 276x104 (VGA).
• The demensions of the pointers are changed to 4x42 pixels (QVGA) and to 8x84 (VGA).
Timmy
@All,
I've finished the Fahrenheit-pics. You vcan find them in the second post of this thread.

Hey Timmy,
you named the pics for negative values t=1.png .... and so on.
I think it would be easyier to call them in the skin, if you name them
t-1.png, t-2.png ..... because if you do not so, you have to call them via
if, then ... else commands and with that name you can say t%varx%.png

These are the tips I'm waiting for! Thanks for your good suggestion! Keep in mind that I'm a real dummy (I am honnest!), so I need this kind of help! This is the solution for me: 't%varx%.png' and I'm gonna do it that way.
Tomorrow I'll change the names of the pics like you suggested, and upload them.
Thanks again!

PS
Sorry Uk_skinner, by re-reading your last thread I saw you already gave that tip, too... I didn't see it before...
@All,
I've renamed all the pic-names:
t-23.png ... t40.png for Celcius Temperature
f-23.png ... f40.png for Celcius Feels like
t-9.png ... t104.png for Fahrenheit Temperature
f-9.png ... f104.png for Fahrenheit Feels like
As you can see, I've added 'Feels like' pics. An example ànd the downloads you can find in the first post.

Please check this: http://www.tpfans.com/rss/TpTempchart.php?Citycode=NLXX0019&Para=20,20,360,150&U=C
I "stole" this concept from Weather Panel   . The idea is to generate a chart image using PHP then you can download the image using the radar.exe
This is still a "draft". I will try to:
1) Size adjustable. --> Done Para=x,y,width,height
2) F or C --> Done U=C
3) Day of week in other language
4) Transparency background, then you lay it out on your nice background you created. --> Done
5) temp lable or not lable
6) Hourly temperature chart up to 48 hours? -->Done see below
7) Any other wish?
Yes, you still can use the temp pointers, once the size and position are determined.
Edit: Hourly temp chart:

Uk_skinner,

Two month ago you started to give us a Chrismas present (EZ_download), and you did'n't stop since that time to give us new presents... Where will this stop???
Compliments!
As I said more: I see you have an inventive mind with brilliant ideas! Good, to have you here.

Yes, it is easier :D
Quote• We don't need TpHRForecast.exe, am I right?
We don't need id for the temperaturecharts, if you want to display the
temperatures otherwise, you still need it.
Regards Broesel
broesel and Timmy, thanks. for the good words.
QuoteI have a special place on mu PocketPC screen where I like to have the PHP-temperaturechart. Can you PHP work with certain demensions? Or is ther only one demension?
You can specify the dimensions using "Para=". There are 4 numbers in it. The first two are offsets of (x,y). You need some space to have the "number" for the y-axis. The default is (20,20). The thrid and forth numbers are (width, height) of the chart. The example I gave you was (360x150). The actual size will be a little biger since the space also needs for the time label at x-axis.
The width of the chart: x_offset + width + 25 = 20+360 +25 = 405
The height of the chart:y_offset + height + 25 = 20+150+25 = 195
At this moment, the size of font was fixed. There are only 5 different sizes available in defaul PHP. The ones I used for "hour" t x-axis in hourly chart was the smallest one.
To convert to C, you just need to use "U=C", otherwise the default is "F".
Let me know you wish to add other other parameters.
QuoteWe don't need id for the temperaturecharts, if you want to display the
temperatures otherwise, you still need it.
broesel, again, you were right. If you only need the chart, you only need to use radar.exe to download the image.
Edit:
In temperature chart (not hourly), you can spceify the size of the font for "Day of week". The font size is only 1 - 5. And the format of DOW (Day of week) can be specified as "X", "XX" or "XXX". For example:
http://www.tpfans.com/rss/TpTempchart.php?Citycode=NLXX0015&Para=5,5,150,100&U=C&Font=1&DOW=X
Quote from: uk_skinnerThe idea is to generate a chart image using PHP then you can download the image using the radar.exe
How do we have to store it as an image :?: This is a point, I'm not clear
over. Could you show, how the lines have to be in the radar.txt ?

Well, tested again in the morning and no one of the scripts
weather.com, de.weather.com and yahoo does work. The new
tempchart scripts worked fine. So there maybe a problem with
weather.com or maybe the scripts are being blocked from weather.com
and yahoo ?

As the scripts from your server, the yahoo-script on this forum and

So thanks for your affort again, let's hope, weather.com will work normally
again

Well, you can test the ones I sent to you at your side when this happened again next time. Since I usually went to thc's site and found out his also was not working, I assumed the problem was from weather.com. I also will try to see I can use different urls next time.
hi all,

Hello Uk_skinner,
I've tested and tested again and everything is still OK! Nice! Time for another chart...
My new wish:
Can you make a 48 hours Temperature chart with:
• only the 6, 12, 18 and 24 hours under the bottum line?
• no days of the week under the bottom line?
• let fall together the blue line with the 0° line?
• add the "Feels Like" temperature for the day-temperature (NOT the noight temperature!) in the colour light-grey (30% Black)?
Can you fix that? Would be good for my skin... If not: NO PROBLEM!
BTW: What's the meaning of the blue line?

I can add the "Font=", but the one I used for hourly chart is the smallest one at x-axis right now. You can not get smaller than that. But here it is. Use "YFont=" and "XFont=" to set the size of the fonts. There are only "1-5" and the default of both are "1".

2) New parameters "Ftemp" to switch feel-like on/off. "Ftemp=N" will not show feel-like temp. The default is "Yes".

Hope, you don't mind... but while working to implement this new feature in my own skin, there was a new wish...
While using this url: Timmy's link (http://tpfans.com/rss/TpHourChart.php?Citycode=NLXX0015&Para=15,0,110,40&U=C&Time=0,12&R_Color=150,190,2004&T_Color=196,15,15&La_Color=0,0,0&F_Color=30,160,0&YFont=1&XFont=1)
I am receiving this picture (the picture is within the dark-blue area):
Is it possible to increase the empty space at the lower part and at the right site? Would be nice!
Hope, I don't give you too much wishes...

Why don't use the pic with
image,x,y,xxx.png,t
(Maybe with an other background) The pic is transparent and you won't see the white space.

Odd, how came I miss your post?? I was here almost all the time????
Looks to me you need to increase the space at the top, right? If you can show me exactly what you need (better with image), then I can try to make it for you.
Broesel's idea is good too.
Edit: Timmy, in TpTempchart, you can use "Lang=NL" to display day of week in Dutch.

Uk_skinner,
My point was, that the genetated picture had too much NOT USED space at the bottum and at the right site. I thougt it was better Not to have that useless space.
FYI: Yes, indeed, in the showed picture I had to increase the space at top.
Another question. It's a bit stupid. I know. But I can't get the days of the week at the bottum of the 48 hours temperature chart... Did I forget to put something in the rss-URL ?!?!?
Timmy
Timmy:
I see your points and will try to see I can do something about. At beginning, I set a fixed space at the bottom for "time" display. Also will try to add a parameter allow you to display the day.
Edit: No language support yet in TpHourchart yet. Will try to add it today.
Well, I stated in the German PPC-Welt-Forum, how I implemented the
Temp- and Hourcharts in the skin, so here for all that are interested is an
easy way to call the pictures in the skintext:
Create two new registry-keys under \HKCU\Software\SRSSoft\TodayPlus\image :
Key 1: hourchart with content:
\Program Files\TodayPlus\Buffer\hourchart.png
and
Key 2: tempchart with content:
\Program Files\TodayPlus\Buffer\tempchart.png
where the value is the path, where you saved the pictures with radar.exe
Call the pictures in the skintext with:
image,x,y,%hourchart%,t
and
image,x,y,%tempchart%,t
It's an easy way to display them without changing the imagedir.

Broesel,
I need your help!
I tried several things, but nothing works... Can you, please, give some good textlines for my next wishes:
- a button is on place 39,16
the beginning of the button textline is: button,39,16,12,15,-1,... and the rest I couldn't find.
- clicking on this button must give the 'background_01.pic' on place 45,16
and 'c%var0%hourchart.pic' on place 50,20
Those pictures remain in the same region, region 3, the region of the weather forecast.
Broesel, can you fix those textlines for me?!? Would be very appreciated, cause I can't find the right textlines myself...

Broesel,
I've tried this for my five cities, but then this don't work, isn't it? I think this is only a solution when you have temepraturecharts for only ONE city, right?!?
I tried to find something for five cities, but couldn't find a good solution... I can put the right lines in the Registry, but after that I didn't find any textlines in the skinfile that did work...
Timmy
Timmy:
I never done this but you can try this:
1) Make key for hourchart of each city you have, like this :
Key 1: hourchart of city 1 with content:
\Program Files\TodayPlus\Buffer\hourchart1.png
Key 2: hourchart of city 2 with content:
\Program Files\TodayPlus\Buffer\hourchart2.png
2) in your skin call the image using: the varX is your city ID
image,x,y,%hourchart%varX%%,t

I already used the same textline in my skin, and I already put the same text in the registry, but it don't work...

EDIT:
I forget to say that I've my own solution: Radar.exe copies the pics to my common TodayPlus image file. Then it's not difficult to get the pic on my screen: The textlines in my skin are easy to write.
Timmy:
I just tried, it worked when I added the registry keys. Probably, there are some small bugs in your skin. I would suggest that you send it to broesel to review.

Timmy, if you copy the pics into your Image-Folder, there is no need
to use the registry for this.
You only have to call the images with the normal image-command:
image,x,y,hourchart1.png,t
image,x,y,hourchart2.png,t
and so on.
You only have to be sure, that the pictures are there and the names are right.

2) the highlighted button (button,40,12) is working: when clicking you see the box
3) when clicking on the button (button,40,12), the Tempback-01.png must appear in the background, and the hourchart.png in the foreground: this don't work
4) when clicking again, the original screen has to appear again: this don't work

Next stepMy next step is implementing your TpTempChart in my skinfile. For the TpTempChart (see attachement) I have some wishes:
• the temperaturenumbers in the leftsite, as it is with your TpHourChart
• the colourchange-possibilities for the same items as it is in TpHourChart
• no straight blue line from left to right

Hope you can fix those things! And ehhh... I'll be patience... Take your time!!!

Try this (http://tpfans.com/rss/TpTempchart.php?Citycode=NLXX0015&Para=16,4,122,32&U=C&Time=0,12&R_Color=150,190,2004&T_Color=196,15,15&La_Color=0,0,0&F_Color=30,160,0&YFont=1&XFont=1&YS=4&DOW=X&Lang=NL&FP=N)
"FP=" is the one you specify to show "freeze-poin" line. The default is "Y", so you need "FP=N" if you don't want see it.
Another change is the "Font=" is replaced with "XFont" and "YFont". Broesel, please updated on the German forum. I will try to do it here too.
Uk_skinner,
You're almost full-prof... Everything works fine... The tpfans.com/rss has realy become a TodayPlus
FANS rss-feed!!!
Testresults:
• all the colourchanges are working well
• the Font changes are still OK
• all the colourchanges are working well
• the Y-axis can be in- and decreased well
• the language-change works well
• the dimensions are to change well
• the DOW's (Mon/Mo/M) are doing their work
• the freezepoint-line is there, if you want that
Compliments!!! A great improvement!!! I'm very glad with the things you create!!!
You don't believe it, but I have a wish, again... Yes, ok, shoot at me... Left and right of the temperature-lines there's too much empty space. Can you make the temperaturelines 1) to begin more left, and 2) to end more right???

I have made the old ImageViewer to an AniImageViewer. Just prove the prinicple. The question is how to incorporate into TP. Do you have any animated weather icons? Not in animated gif format, but is serial frame format. If you do, can you just send me one set to test. If you can have the size just like the one in TP (VGA), that will be great.

I have no Problem with that. It says only that we have the leading TodayPlugin :D and all others have to look what we doing

OEPS... You are serious??? So: we don't need very much patience??? Would be nice!!!

Just to be sure: you mean the single pictures, by which the animated gif is build up?!?
Timmy
QuoteOEPS... You are serious??? So: we don't need very much patience??? Would be nice!!!
Well, we still need to be patience. I only can get one right now. I thought I posted it here. Using the same approach that it should be able to display animated images anywhere in the screen. However, there is one major task need to be addressed first. I need to make sure the mutiple animated image can be displayed.
QuoteJust to be sure: you mean the single pictures, by which the animated gif is build up?!?
I will try to see animated gif can be displayed. But this is a long shot. The alternative is to display serial of images in a time loop. So the multiple frames is needed just like cartoon. So if you have, let's say 10 frames for one weather icon, then please send to me. I can let AniImageViewer to show 1 to 10 every 0.5 secs.

Uk_skinner,
I'm seeking for a good serie, end mail it to you as soon as I'm finished.

I have an incomplete set of animated weather icons split into individual frames. I have each frame in a different folder but each file is the same name. I tried animated weather with T+ by changing the wearher icons folder, but as you know T+ does not refresh quickly enough. I had a 3 second gap.
the frames go like this;
weathericonsfolder\animated\1\1.jpg
weathericonsfolder\animated\2\1.jpg
weathericonsfolder\animated\3\1.jpg
weathericonsfolder\animated\4\1.jpg
weathericonsfolder\animated\5\1.jpg
weathericonsfolder\animated\6\1.jpg
etc. etc.
Do you want my icons?
