Title: What Does Your TP Screen Look Like ?
Post by: ZapMe1 on June 12, 2005, 09:20:04 PM
Ok, all of the other forums have a thread like this, so I thought why not here!!  :roll:

I know that many of you have made your own skins, or customized some of the skins available here..   So, come on, "Show it Off"...... :wink:

Here is one of mine:

Sorry Z, I just keep forgetting to post read to forums while I'm home.  I usually read them after I arrive at work.  :oops:  But I can't upload/download anything from there.  I'll try again soon.

ZapMe1...great looking screen shot.  I'm a complete newbie to TodayPlus.  I have it downloaded to my pc, but haven't yet installed it on my iPAQ.  I run WSA2, iLauncher, WeatherPanel and SPB Pocket Plus on my today screen.  I really like ILauncher and was worried that there would be conflicts running that and TP at the same time.  BUT...it looks like you have the iLauncher icon in your Navigator skin tray at the bottom of the screen.  Is this really true?  Can I run iLauncher from within TP?  Thanks in advance, I know this is a pretty old thread by now and probably a pretty dumb question, but I'm just learning and I just found  this forum recently.  C

Hi chiacchierone,

First of all, Welcome to the TP forum !  :D

Sorry to say, but I know nothing about iLaunch !!  None of the icons in my tray have anything to do with that app..  Which icon did you think was it ?

As far as it working along with TP, I have to assume that it would !  But in order to have it on your today screen at the same time as TP, you would have to use one of the reduced TP skins that give you the room for additional today plugins..  Otherwise, you would have a scroll bar !!

On my skin that you see above, I have used the launcher built into TP, and designed the icons to be available on most screens.. I have 3 categories setup, with 18 available shortcuts each..  This can be expanded to as many as you want with some skin code adjustment..
Also, if you look at Wichtel's Hammerskin, he has a page in his skin where you can have many shortcuts in one place !!

If you need help when you setup your TP, just post here at the forum..  And don't worry about asking "stupid" questions..  We've all been there, done that, and screwed it up a few times !!
All the help you'll ever need for TP is found right here !!!  :wink:

ZapMe1...thank you for the kind words of welcome.  I'm trying to learn as much about TP as I can from this forum before I incorporate it to my PPC.  The icon on your screen that I was referring to is the 3rd from the right on the bottom tray, between the yellow moon and tree with magnifying glass.  I'll attempt to post my Today screen so you can see the icon similarity.  iLauncher's icon is the 2nd from the left on my bottom system tray.  Thanks for all the good posts.  C.

Hi chiacchierone,

I do see what you mean !  The icons do look somewhat alike, except mine is the "soft reset" icon thru PHM Power Toys !!

I see that you already have a scroll bar on your current screen..  I, myself don't like them, and I believe that TP doesn't like them very much also..  However, I believe it still will work !  :wink:

ZapMe1...yes, the icons are very similar.  I also have PHM Power Toys installed, but I always have trouble designating the directory paths when I try to place items on my system tray.  It was just beginner's luck that I got the screen capture program loaded there.  The green plus sign is iLauncher's battery-memory icon and the red bull's eye icon is psShutXP's "shut down" window icon.  Both programs did the work for me and placed them on the tray.  What path did you follow to load "suspend" & "soft reset" on the tray?  So much to learn and so little time to do so.  I'm on my way out the door for work, but I'll look for your response when I get home.  Thanks again.

chiacchierone,

Using PHM TrayLaunch, I set the paths:

Reset = \sd card\phm pocket pc powertoys\reset.exe
Suspend = \sd card\phm pocket pc powertoys\suspend.exe

That's It !

ZapMe1...Thanks again for your help.  I was able to get them both to work, so you can see the similarity of the icons.  Here's a new Today screen image.  I am almost ready to make the move and switch to TP as my main task management program.  I'll post any questions or problems I encounter and also an image of the Today screen once I get it oragnized.  C.

Well, it's late, and it represents a very minor modification of the original Hammerskin. But you asked for it, so here it is. Tapping on the moon phase or zodiac icon will go to the backlight setting. Tapping to the right of the icon will bring up the battery setting, and tapping to the left, the memory setting. Tapping on the date will update from the internet
