fishboy

Great, now that I've finally managed to modify Lightman's skin to integrate your launcher you come up with a better version  :D

Just kidding. (Actually I'm glad that I modified the regions in LM's skin rather than the glauncher - it's just cut and paste for me to use your new version). Great work. Thanks for enhancing my PPC.

Thanks srs and ya1950.  Glad I could help.  As requested by srs, here is the original version using a tabbed interface.

I really like these tabs for launcher and was wondering what the instructions were to incorporate this into a skin or config file to get it to work.  Sorry I just don't have a great understanding of all this right now with all the various config files and skin files etc.

Thanks for your help.

What type of applications launcher are you using? Is it "cLaunch"?

Axim,

This is Coleman.  I actually downloaded BlazingWolf's new Calender package which incorporates the tabbed laucher from Fishboy and all is well.  Thanks for your concern and help though.

All of fishboy's skin is achieved with TodayPlus.  You don't need other Today plugins any more.

You only need to download the zip file fishboy attached, put the files in the correct locations and amend the config.txt file to suit yourself and you have a tabbed launcher.

Do let us know if you need any advice/help in doing this.
Title: Launcher too small ??
Post by: caro7372 on November 07, 2003, 04:10:26 PM
Oke,

I've got the launcher added but if I have the launcher and for example the Calender ( Agenda ) there is more space cause it seems like the launcher is to small though it needs the space and maybe that's why the calender doesn't fit just under the launcher ???

Or am I wrong???

Assuming you're happy to hack around in the skin file, you could see the following post (and subsequent 2 or 3) for people dealing with a similar problem:

Thanks Arbitrajeu,

I looked arround but didn't find it while it was there under my nose.
Sorry I had to ask you that question but many thanks and I got it now.

Yes I know how to edit slider.txt so that's no problem.
I have it more and more the way I like it now everyday cause this program is really really great !!

Well I think that I would like to take a stab at this. But I am not sure what to do. Where do I put the files, and after I get them to where they need to go, what next? thank you!

I'm trying to update the tabbed interface so that it doesn't do a full refresh with each page change.  However, when I do that, switching pages causes the plugin to scoot to the top of the screen.  But clicking back to the first region and first page restores it to normal.  Any ideas?

I havent had a chance to look at the skin, but I'm almost positive your problem lies in the defregion command.  Take a look at the sticky at the top of this forum where I have posted some tips on skins, and let me know if you have any further questions

You're 100% right.  I didn't realize that you need a defregion for each page.  Now to tackle my shortcut problem...

not for every page, but for every region.   of course if some pages within one region have different dimensions then you need more defregions.  The thing to keep in mind is that the defregion should always have the correct position / dimension of the region.

of course the quick and dirty way of doing it is not using defregions, and using a full rerender for everything, and this will work fine for small skins, but larger ones will see much better performance doing it the "proper" way.

Here is a version of my glauncher for use with version 0.9.8 (which should be a little faster).  The included config and skin file (glauncher_0.9.8.zip)are not full blow files, but can be pasted into an existing config and skin file (assuming no region conflicts).  Commands will also need to be added to display it.

I have also include a version of the slider skin with the launcher added.
