I thought it about time I posted something. This is the latest incarnation of my skin, consisting of clocks, weather, RSS and launcher. It's only 97 pixels high, but obviously needs some POOM and battery stuff, which is on its way.
A brief overview. It minimises very small, showing just date an a scrollable set of launcher icons (currently 3 sets, easily extendible).

As I mentioned, it has clocks and weather, very similar to the standard skin, but you can scroll either way through the weather locations and click on the location name to go back to the nominated Home location.

The RSS allows you to scroll both ways thru the feeds (only 2, but easily extendible), I mocked up a scroll bar for moving thru the headlines, and you can get to the detail via the description page. Note the different icons for online/offline - thanks to srs for making that work.

Anyway, I hope you find it useful, or at least interesting. I've attached the config.txt, minimal.txt (skin file) and the graphics I modified to make it appear the way you see it above.
very nice :)
I just love the scrollbar idea. and this skin gave me an idea for "sliding" sections (maybe I saw it earlier in one of your screenshots ?) that I managed to implement easily into the skin. I will post my modifications later.
One suggestion I would have is to call the shortcuts something generic like quick1, quick2, etc. That way it is much easier for others to configure the config for their shortcuts.

I also have it on the screenshot of my upcoming skin, I think it can be a very handy idea :)

I'll definitely be doing that going forward - as much to let me use others skins as anything. I
thought there was some logic in naming them in my config file, but have seen nothing but downsides so far. Will rectify before posting the next version.
Look forward to your modifications, too.
@arbitrajeu: When do you plan to release the next version of your wonderfull skin? Do you need some "beta"testers ;-)
Regards
Garak
I would love to see this with Calendar options. I have tried to add the default without much luck.
Hi,
You've made a great skin. I love it.
Can you tell me how i can adjust the height of the text on the weather screen ? I'm using another set of weather icons (washington post) instead of the ones you used and now the text of the days is to close to the weathericons.
tnx, Özkan

I'm slowly working on this "skin", but it's really just a collection of concepts as I test out this great product. I'm working on replacing the BatteryPack 2003 you see in the screenshot with a full-featured TodayPlus version.
I'm afraid it's unlikely I can finish work on it until early next week, due to work pressures this weekend.

I'll see about including a calendar and POOM options. I don't like to half-do things so might just bundle in the standard POOM section from srs default skin until I get time to play with it properly - it's one of those things I keep meaning to do.

Can you be a little more specific, or possibly include a screenshot? Due to the way the region is set up it's not a trivial thing to describe, so I want to make sure I'm dealing with the right problem. Do you mean the text above, below, or to the left/right of the images?

It's the text above en beside the weather icons.
Yogiman, you can move the text, But I think you should probably
move the icons instead. change the x,y locations of the any statments that look like this:
forecasticon,1,54,11,,t
button,51,0,46,54,3,4,200,1
button,51,0,46,54,-1,6,var1=1
I have bolded the x,y locations. Just change those numbers until you get the icons where you want. If you would still like to move the text change these lines:
forecast,date_ddd,1,69,0,,,c Moves the day heading.
forecast,high,1,97,16,,,r
forecast,low,1,97,28,,,r these lines will move the high and low temps.
forecast,precipitation,1,74,40,R: ,%,c will change the location of the % rain.
These items are located in the main weather region. Hope this helps.
Thanks for replying on my behalf, Blazingwolf - we make a good team :D
Yogiman - looking at your screenshot I'd suggest adding 3 to each of the x/y coordinates BW highlighted.

No problem. You have done the same for me on several occasions. I was just suprised that I was able to answer before you. :D
Thanks you guys, that did the trick, I also had to play with the todayicon values. I looks great now! Me happy :)

At the top of the screen with the other little icons you should see a red icon with a line through it. If you click that icon it puts you into "online" mode, which makes the refresh button visible to the right of it.

I don't have an owner region built into this skin, I'm afraid. If you particularly want one, let me know what you would like to see and I'll do what I can.
 hy have you got the minimal skin for ver 11? does ythis one work
thanks
