OSX Complete skin

I've had the idea for this skin since seeing fishboy's tab launcher.  But I've been busy for the past week and didn't get time to finish up with it until now.  Much of the graphics for TodayPlus, the matching Wisbar/Icbar skin, and the TSK are borrowed from Juni's excellent Dashboard skin (http://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=14&SkinID=358).  The tabs at top are used for navigation amongst the different pages.  The title on the tab changes depending on which subpage is currently being displayed.  This skin has the following functions:

- Weather for 3 cities
- 9 RSS feeds including Stocks
- 2 Month Calendar with Agenda Advance function
- Applications and Games launch pages.
- 2 QuickLaunch pages
- Analog and regular Timezones
- A new "Main" page which displays the date, today's weather icon, and battery and memory bars

This skin also matches nicely with another Wisbar/Icbar theme I modified from a skin posted on Icbar's webpage:

I thought I'd try it now that I've got the default working properly.  Everything seems to be funcional-BUT I don't have any weather icons displaying at all.  Are you using a different set of icons here other than the default that came with 9.5?  Or am I doing something else wrong.  Any help is  definitely appreciated.

Mach5 - in OSX complete skin.txt you need to replace the line:

options,weathericondir,Weather Icons\Weather.com,bmp

with:

options,weathericondir,Weather Icons\snaggle3d,png

This will use the icons that came with 0.9.5.  You can download the weather.com icons from the weather icons thread on this board (somewhere).

Great work!  

I'm not sure what I've done wrong, but the calendar section at the bottom in your screenshot shows up as a garbled mess on my screen.  Everything else seems to work fine.

Could you take a look at my capture and let me know how I can correct this?

Sorry, posprg, I use Icbar so I've never created a Wisbar Advance skin file for it.  I've included lots of variations for the background and so forth so you can customize it to your liking.

JS, OSX Complete skin was designed for TodayPlus v0.9.5.  The POOM section (agenda) has been updated to better display all day events and will not work properly with earlier versions of TodayPlus.

posprg - In the interests of sharing, perhaps you could post your Wisbar Advance skin file once you've worked one up?

2. On the pic you can see, that the quicklanch pages are missing ?!?

It should work fine.  I have not tested it with V0.9.6, but I don't believe there were any changes made to the syntax of the code I use.

This is OT, but what is "hrmpf" short for?  I have tried and tried to figure it out, even consulted a Chat Abbreviation (http://www.namastecafe.com/computer/abbreviation.htm) dictionary.

Just a last question before I install this skin. The agenda I see on the bottom part is part of this skin, right? Can we limit to number of days ahead (1,2, etc.)

I'll wait until the memory leaks are fixed, but it looks like it is going to be the ultimate today-plugin.

I don't mind at all people using my skin ideas and images for their own personal use but when they get uploaded I'd like to know about it. And I did get credit. ;)

This is great. I've been using TodayPlus as a dashboard plugin (using Juni's OS X skin) and have been hoping he'd apply that skin to Today Plus. Thanks for the conversion!

I had been using the complete logika with some mods. Now I'll have to start working with this  :D

The skin looks great alas until the next version comes out or 0.95 is re-released it looks like I will have to continue hacking the default skin for 0.93 but I suspect this may become my default.

I was going to start making a tabbed one myself (liked the concept after seeing the 1st tabbed launcher skin) and since your skin has many elements that I intend to incorporate, I will probably use it as a base for my new skin which will have graphics to match my Attraction Wisbar Advance skin.

I also intend to incorporate some new ideas, especially in the rss area, clocks and maybe launcher ;)

Comments & Suggestions:

1-The Font quality is real bad (V0.9.6/ClearType off or on) - This is probably due to this new version. Since the V0.9.5 has been withdrawn there is no alternative - (POOM & Png support required V.0.9.5 and above)

2-The RSS BBC feed and PocketThoughts seem to be swapped (Title and contents)

3-Perhaps change the font color to theme color?

4-The contour of batterybar does not show (transparent)?

My apologies, Juni, I should have contacted you before releasing this skin publicly.  :oops:  I have been using an OSX Icbar theme for over 6 months that was compiled from many different skinners' themes.  I just came accross your Dashboard skin a couple weeks ago.  I really liked your graphics, which went perfect with my idea for this skin.  I'm not much of a graphics guy myself, so I've always modified others' work for my own use.  This is the first forum I've begun publicly sharing my modified skins/themes.  Didn't mean to take credit for your hard work. :wink:

Thank you.  Without looking at your skin, I'd say the problem is one of the following: the code for the quicklaunch pages has been deleted, you have region 4 and/or 5 redefined to something else somewhere in your skin, or the offsetadd has been deleted for those regions.

Yea, not much can be done about it until v0.9.5 is reposted or a newer version comes out.

Adjust the config.txt file to your liking, erase the buffer files, & resync.  You will also have to rename each rss page's tab title in the skin file to reflect which feed you are using for that page.

I assume you are referring to the text on the tabs?  I originally had the font color set to match the current theme's text color.  But on certain themes the font color either didn't match or was unreadable, so I decided to set it to blue to match the background images.

Sorry, I didn't have time to test all the newer images borrowed from Juni's theme with Wisbar since I'm using Icbar.  You may want to download Juni's original Wisbar files.  There's a link in the first post of this thread.

Now the TDP version 0.9.7 is out offering faster performance and additional functionalities. RGB08, did you try your skin yet?
In the new version SRS re-arrange the directory for default skin and images, etc. It is not really easy to switch skin back and forth to try out.
My first attempt to apply your skin, did not show anything...I might have made a mistake somewhere.

If sombody tries, could you post instruction, what goes where and what need to be remove to save place. Thx!  :D

BTW, I absolutely prefer the TAB format over small buttons...

Does this skin work with 0.98?Also Does anyone know what needs to be done to convert the wisbar skin posted earlier for ise in Wisbar Advance?

I am not running this skin, but I would guess it weather is the tab that says "Weather."  I would also guess that news is the tab that says "News."

I am not running this skin myself, either, but a quick peek at the code reveals the following:

It appears that clicking on the update time in the bottom-left corner of the weather section will cause a refresh to occur.

Well I have just had a quick play with this skin to get it working under .98 and I think he is correct when he says that it doesn't refresh when clicking on the time in the weather section.

To refresh weather & news manually, tapp on "last updated" on the Main page, the update time on the Weather Forcast page, or on any rss title (i.e.: Pocket PC Thoughts).  It will update, even though the text dosen't grey.  I will be releasing an update to this skin, hopefully before the end of the week, to take advantage of the new features of TP v098 & add some more enhancements.

Well I just tried that and nothing seems to be updating including the last updated time. Not a biggie, I look foprward to the new version. Rgb08, are you going to include a meter for the SD/CF storage space in the new version?
That is the only other bit of info I like I'd like to see displayed if possible.
Maybe even put a line of Owners info on the main tab although I'm still not entirely sure if that is useful on the Today screen.

I originally had a storage card meter beneath the memory meter.  But it extended the height of the page and looked unbalanced.  Plus, I don't check up on storage space very often since it changes infrequently and I usually have a good idea how much I have left without looking.

By the way, now that I've finished updating my Logika skin, I will be starting to update this skin.  I have a little time today and may even post it as early as tonight. :)
