Title: [WEATHER] Weather headings (not a bug)
Post by: arbitrajeu on October 29, 2003, 09:51:20 AM
Don't think this is a bug, but wanted to capture somewhere the codes I'd found the weather.com names for which aren't in the current version of TodayPlus:

Unknown code 47 : Rain / Wind
Unknown code 81 : PM Light Rain

That's all I've seen so far.  Would be good to have a full set, eventually, unless someone manages to source the official list from weather.com - couldn't find it on their site.

I also have a few ones I hadn't posted yet :
Unknown code 18 : Rain
Unknown code 142 : Rain / Thunder / Wind

They are hardcoded in the soft.
srs has allready told us that he will put them in a separate config file.
By the way, this will help for loacalization :)

Posting these codes is useful so that srs can incorporate them in the next build of TodayPlus, in the event that he doesn't incorporate the config file yet.

The code alone doesn't help, you have to check the page in weather.com at the time you see the unknown code in TodayPlus and see what weather condition the program was supposed to report.

Here's another one :

Code 118 : T-Storms / Wind

Unknown code 41: Showers / Wind

srs - I've attached my forecasttext.txt file which includes all the codes posted on here to date.

EDIT: Don't be alarmed.  Despite what the forum tells us, the file is 1KB in size, not 339KB!  Odd.

arbitrajeu,

How do you make the link between a 'unknown code'/code  and the weather conditions it refers to?

I am also trying on my side to find missing codes.

Other basic question : how srs has established the primary list?

All I do is that when I see an unknown code on my TP weather forecast I go to weather.com, and see what the text they're using is for the same location on the same day.

to be absolutely sure that the code you're adding is the right one, you will have to check msnbc.com weather to get the forecast text for that particular day and you have to make sure that the msnbc.com weather update time is the same as the update time on the TodayPlus weather feed.

Be careful of adding codes too quickly, as once they are added, incorrect codes will be very difficult to find and fix.
Title: Unkown Code 256

Unknown Code 256 - Should be Wintry Mix to Rain according to msnbc.com weather.
