Logika Complete skin v0.9.8
I'm really satisfied with this version of my Logika skin. I optimized the whole code, eliminating about 95% of full refreshes. This has sped up the skin considerably. I also rewrote the whole RSS section to be similar to srs' slider skin. Thanks to the new if/else commands, I was able to customize the rss section to look different for the Stocks page. This is what had kept me from adopting the newer RSS style in past versions of my skins. I also replaced the Local analog clock on my Big Clock page with an Analog Memory meter. Tapping on the analog memory and battery meters now brings up more detailed information. I also added the feature to make text that is updating gray, while leaving other text that isn't being updated normal. All other features are the same as my last version.
*Edit: this version is no longer available. Please download my latest version of Logika Complete skin. :)

Love what you;ve done with the skin. One question, one suggestion.
on the quick launch bar, the right arrow button doesn't advance to the second quick launch page. I took a quick look, but I seem to miss what's doing it.
Suggestion: In the clock region you have the home clock set to Cedar. Instead why not use a variable ( eg hometown_clock ) in the region then in the top of the skin have a set variable area where the value can be changed, making it easier to set.
Small quibles though, VERY nice job!
Cheers -David
Thanks for another awesome skin to use with Today Plus. It's great to have choices;).
Agreed on the comment above about the clock section. It took some doing, but I got them changed more to my liking.
BTW for others - the clock codes in the config are not actually "ordered". From what I can tell, time 2 is actually LOCAL and the display order for the five analog clocks is time 2,1,3,4,8 (left to right).

Hmm, not sure why it isn't working for you. I copied the skin included in the zip directly from the one I'm using and it works fine for me. I made sure to test everything thoroughly before posting. If others experience this problem, let me know and I'll repost the file.

That is a good idea. I intended for it to be a static time, so it wouldn't change when I'm traveling. But I do agree it makes it hard for the average user to quickly change. I create these skins with my own personal use in mind, but it never hurts to include a few simple enhancements to make it more "user friendly". :)

I'm glad you like it ;) . I too like trying/using different skins, depending on my mood. In addition to the several excellent TodayPlus skins posted in this forum, I have about 6 different Icbar skins I've modified, and well over 100 Today themes I've made (http://www.pocketthemes.com/download.php?op=search&query=rbg08&orderby=hitsD) or downloaded that I rotate through. Variety is what keeps me addicted to the PPC.

This is almost all correct. Time "2" in the config file is set to MST (Mountain Standard Time). By changing the timezone code to your own timezone, the first analog clock will display your local time (but you will have to manually change the name "Cedar" to your hometown name in the skin file under Timezones>Analog Clocks).
Is it possible to temporarily hide a section with agenda items in this skin ? I did't find any special button :(
How I can make a refresh of the weather and of the rss whithout delete the cache?
Quote from: xbrunoxHow I can make a refresh of the weather and of the rss whithout delete the cache?
The config.txt file contains the minimum update frequency (60 mins in most cases, 20 mins in the case of three of the feeds in this skin). TodayPlus will not refresh this data if it's less than 60/20 mins old.
With the Logika Complete skin you can ask TodayPlus to refresh the data (assuming it's older than the minumum refresh time) by pressing the time on the weather region or the title of the RSS feed (eg BBC News).

Just double checked that my screen alignment was correct. I can click on the right arrow button and see it depress, just no change to quicklaunch.
No urgency, as 99% of what I use I can have in the first quicklaunch bar.
Thanks rbg! -David
David,
I just downloaded the posted file and tried using the included skin. The QuickLaunch section is working the way it's suppose to on my PPC. Have you edited the skin file? I changed a lot of things in this skin version, including parts of the QuickLaunch section. So far, I haven't been able to reproduce your problem. :(
in this skin is possible insert a sound in a global mode avery time that i click a button?

That is a very good idea! I do not believe srs has included this feature in TodayPlus yet. You may want to post this idea in the "Request" forum.

I should have thought of doing that. I ran the default config.txt with no alterations and it indeed ran fine. I had been copying and pasting the quicklaunch area, must have mucked it up. I went in and edited by hand instead of copy/paste, and it is working fine now.
Thanks for your patience  ! -David

After using this great skin for a few days, I have a few request (or help if there is an easy change).
1) Highlighted buttons - change to red when region is opened as in the default 0.9.8 skin. Possible?
2) I saw in another post how to make the Calendar skin by blazingwolf open with the weather region opened. Possible with Logika?
Thanks again!

Unfortunately not without a lot of editing. :( You can have the buttons change red momentarily when pressed by copying the buttons from Colors-3D to Logika Complete-3D and changing the image names in the skin file from *.bmp to *.png.
Quote2) I saw in another post how to make the Calendar skin by blazingwolf open with the weather region opened. Possible with Logika?
Not sure what you're asking. If you mean start-up with the weather displayed instead of collapsed, it is possible, but would require some minor tweaking of page jumps in the skin.
Thanks for the reply.
Minor requests - I can live with what you have done :D.

Quote from: xbrunoxI'v change a bit the look of this great skin but I'v some problem with the text is possible to set the alignment of the text always on the left side?
You can change the justification of most text to left by finding the command line that writes the text, such as:
text,51,12,Temperature:,land making sure "l" (left) is selected and not "c" (center) or "r" (right). There's no global command to left justify all text in a skin.
I'm not sure if this is even possible, but how about adding the battery & mem/sto meters to the launcher bar since it is always visible?
It would be great to see those meters at a glance without having to open the main big clock region.
Just a thought.
BTW - I sent a few pm's on the same subject, but I'm not sure if they are going through.

Never able to resist a challenge, I thought I'd see if I could work this out. As ever, I didn't bother to try it out before I let you test it ;)
Find the following:
region,5,0,-1and replace it with
region,5,0,10to ensure that your bars get updated.
Then, find the line:
image,0,0,background_quicklaunch.bmp,tand replace it with:
image,0,0,background_quicklaunch.bmp,t
battery,bar,26,1,189,1,gradient_red-green gradient.png
memory,barused,26,21,189,1,gradient_green-red gradient.pngThat should put a 1 pixel bar at top (battery) and bottom (prog/storage memory) of your quicklauncher. If it's too narrow, you
could make it 2 pixels by using:
image,0,0,background_quicklaunch.bmp,t
battery,bar,26,0,189,2,gradient_red-green gradient.png
memory,barused,26,21,189,2,gradient_green-red gradient.pngbut that would somewhat mess with the shadows.
Let me know if it works
Gotta love this forum and program. The help here is wonderful :P.
arbitrajeu -
The suggestions worked great! I made a few modifications:
1) Switched battery line to bottom of launcher and memory to top
2) Used the 2 pixel height as you suggested
3) Modified the launcher bar - made top bar wider to match bottom
4) Needed to move the top memory image up so I used 26,0,189,1 (vs. 26,1,189,1) --> complete guess there but it seems to have worked!
5) I modified the Wisbar background image as well (more like hacked it up) to make it fill out the left screen (vs. black).
* One other request? Notice in the screenshot that PI Today is right up against the bottom of the launcher. What changes can I make to add a couple pixels there so I have a small gap after Today Plus?
Anyway, here is my current screen - Today Plus Logika Complete, Wisbar Advance w/Logika Skin & PI Today by Deje.
Thanks for the assistance.
JS. Great modification. Could you share your Skin file? Thx!
Quote from: dhpssJS. Great modification. Could you share your Skin file? Thx!
Well, if there were extensive changes to rbg08's original skin, I guess I could, but really I only made a few lines of changes as arbitrajeu suggested and it works well.
To modify the original skin, simply cut/copy the bold portions below into the QUICK LAUNCHER section (toward bottom of skin file) of the original skin:
//region,5,0,-1 --> I left this in and commented it out (//), delete if you want
region,5,0,10defregion,5,0,0,240,23,1
offset,offset_-1,offset_-1
updateregions,4,7
image,0,0,background_quicklaunch(2).bmp,t
memory,barused,26,0,189,2,gradient_green-red gradient.png
battery,bar,26,21,189,2,gradient_red-green gradient.png* You can change the #2's above (next to gradient) to 1 if you like a thinner meter.
You will also need to place the 2 png files (zip attached) into the Logika Complete-3D folder for the meters to show.
Hope that helps
JS, I like your idea! :) I got your PM's late last night, but didn't get a chance to respond. Thanks, arbitrajeu, for your help on this subject. I had already toyed with the idea of adding battery and memory meters into the QuickLaunch area, but couldn't figure how to make them fit and look good at the same time. Good work.

For those interested, I updated the Logika Complete skin to allow the agenda section to be hidden by rotating through the agenda screens (now numbered 1-3) until "/" is displayed. I also made a few minor adjustments including only displaying 1 decimal space for memory used:

Like I said, fun stuff!! I really don't have a handle on much of Today Plus - just enough to be dangerous. Just thanks again for all here who are willing to help me "hack" up your great work .
BTW - rbg08, do you have a quick fix for me to add a few pixels of blank space right under the Quick Launcher section? I have tried changing/deleting about everything I can and haven't figured it out. I would truly feel Logika "COMPLETE" if you could help me with this one :D.
Thanks!

rbg08: Did you include the battery/memory bar like JS idea in this new skin?
Quote from: dhpssrbg08: Did you include the battery/memory bar like JS idea in this new skin?
No, I didn't. This update was completed a couple days ago and so it dosen't include JS' battery/memory bars. His idea is easy enough to implement for those who want it. The next version of this skin may include a similar idea.

Sure thing. Just add the amount you want added under the QuickLauncher to "maxheight", "height", and the following bolded code:
//////////////////////////////////////////
//////// QUICK LAUNCHER
//////////////////////////////////////////
region,5,0,-1
defregion,5,0,0,240,
23,1
...
offsetadd,0,
23endregion,5,0
//////////////////////////////////////////
//////// END QUICK LAUNCHER
//////////////////////////////////////////
Thanks rbg08!
I was missing the last offsetadd line change, but this works great.
The help is appreciated.
JS, rgb08:
I took your advise and implement to my "modified" calendar skin. I'd like to use only 1 thin line for battery bar. The result shows 1 purple line. Please tell me what is wrong!

defregion,5,0,0,240,2,1
offset,offset_-1,offset_-1

I forgot a little detail: I am still running with V9.8. I am afraid that with V10, I have to re-customize everything again (POM,etc.) is it true?
Many thanks for your tremendous work and advise!... :D
Quote from: dhpssI forgot a little detail: I am still running with V9.8. I am afraid that with V10, I have to re-customize everything again (POM,etc.) is it true?
Yes, be VERY careful when upgrading your skin to v0.10...due to some of the changes in the poom sections and even after I made the changes I that seemed necessary for the new version, I kept getting successive soft-resets and the only way to stop it was to hard reset. This happened to me 6 times.
So, my advice for a safe (but time consuming) upgrade:
- take a good long look to the new default skin and config file to be aware of some changes.
- comment all of your poom info and change your refresh commands according to the new sintax.
- assign your poom regions to buttons (if you have these regions loading automatically) and test the changes to your poom areas from these buttons.
Don't make those regions default on your skin until you have it stable on v0.10, otherwise if you have a problem with the poom section and TP soft resets, when it starts your ppc again, it will load the poom section and soft-reset again, and again -> hard reset.

I would advise
not upgrading to v0.10.0 at this time, if you have a POOM section in your skin. A further release is due shortly which corrects the bugs which cause the symptoms Lightman experienced.

Thanks Arbitrajeu. The gradient_red-green gradient.png is just the name of the file, right? I did rename this to red-green gradient.png in my image dir. Does this matter to have this exact name or I just match them.
I agree, I will stay with V98. I've run in to so much trouble with V10 using previous skins..
Quote from: dhpssThanks Arbitrajeu. The gradient_red-green gradient.png is just the name of the file, right?
Actually, no. The name of the file is
red-green gradient.png, whilst the
gradient_ part tells it to treat it as a gradient file.
THANKS Arbitrajeu..It did it! :D :D
Hey RBG08,
Because version 10 is not working properly, I use this skin, it's great, I've made a few modifications, launcher section etc. and it works great, no bugs or what so ever at all.
Thanks for making such a great skin!
Great skin, will you be posting the up to date files?
Hello Rbg08.
I do have one question.
I want the agenda in 24 hrs clock.
Now it shows for example:
Nov 23 zo: 5:00-5:30 Appointment.... etc.
And what I want:
Nov 23 zo: 17:00-17:30 Appointment.... etc.
Is that possible, if so, what do I need to change in the skin/config file.
Thanks

I believe you need to find the section in your Poom region that says: hh:mm and you need to change it to HH:mm
Hey Yogiman, you were right, I found two times: h:mm and I changed it to HH:mm and it works! Thanks a lot :P
Greetings:
I am checking to see if this skin might be changed to work with the upgraded 0.10.0 TD+ program.
I would be more than glad to do it, however, I am lucky I can get the weather changed to my are.
Thanks again to all "skinners" helping us that are ppc challenged.
