OSX Complete skin v0.9.8

I've added a lot of the same features I added to my Logika Complete skin.  There is now Tasks and Countdown pages in the Agenda section.  The RSS pages have been updated to use sliders and online/offline links.  Text being updated grays while text not updating remains unchanged.  The whole skin code has been optimized, removing most full refreshes.  This version is definetly "speedier" than its predecessor.  In addition, the Agenda section can be hidden by tapping the up arrow in the top left corner of that section.  Also, commands and shortcuts' names defined in the config file now conform to srs' new standard.

The one I like best so far! But please look at my news pages (I took shots of the first two pages; trust me, all show the same problem). As far as I can see I didn't touch the skin file anywhere it could hurt. And in the config file I just adapted cities and shortcuts.
Hope there's a simple solution to it.

Hi everybody:

I liked your skin a lot rbg08, but i'm from Spain and the date format we use is different from the one you used (English, I believe), so I started to change the date format to spanish and finally traduced all the skin to spanish (I think that I changed every english format and word in the skin...)

I'm posting it here case of something would like to have this stupendous skin translated to Spanish language and formats.

Home weather icon : I do have the image 33 which is a moon, why not the right icon.

Calendar for the Agenda no possibility on the agenda tab to have only the appointment : if we have 5 due task then we only have the tasks and no appointment, the tasks are also in tasks tab, so it is not needed to have the task on the agenda tab : how can we remove them

Agenda : how to have more than Five line : which parameters to modify.

The main page shows the current weather conditions from the last time it was updated.  Try refreshing your data by tapping on the "Last updated" text.

To remove tasks from the Agenda tab, erase the folloing lines from region,2,0 at the bottom of the skin file:

If I want to use the smaller weather icons (e.g. Washington Post) how do I get them located more properly (they are too far up and to the left, so I would like to relocate them 2, 3 or 4 pixels to the right and down to get them centered again)?

Look for the following commands in the skin file:

todayicon,5,8,,t

forecasticon,1,51,8,,t

The 5 in the todayicon command is the x (horizontal position) value & the 8 is the y (vertical position) value.  Likewise, the 51 in the forecasticon = x, 8 = y.  Increase these values to move the weather icon more to the right and down.

qiqi - I presume your bandwidth-stealing post is intended to point out where rbg08's inspiration came from?  rbg08 credited Juni on his very first iteration of this skin and Juni is aware (admittedly, retrospectively) of the use of his intellectual property.

If you wouldn't object, I'd like to remove the graphic, so people on dial-up (like myself) won't have to contend with it?

EDIT:  qiqi - apologies for the tone of my post.  It was intended to be tongue-in-cheek, but ended up just being a demonstration of a stressful afternoon.  Thanks for removing the screenshot, though  :D

My Time with Analog face does not show Hourhand and Minutehand. I don't see anything wrong in the skin. Do you have any advice where to look for.

In your lastest Logika skin. JS has modified the use of separation bar to make them show battery status and memory http://www.dark-mojo.com/TodayPlus/viewtopic.php?t=500&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0.

It is a wonderful idea to apply to this skin, since the separation bars are thick here.

Then perhaps replace the current bars on the main region to put a little calendar as seen here: http://dark-mojo.com/TodayPlus/viewtopic.php?t=307

The Wisbar OSX folder contains images that can be used by Wisbar (http://www.pelmarinc.com/html/pocket_pc.htm), Wisbar Advance (http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/products/wisbar/), or Icbar (http://www.ictinus.com/icbar/) to skin the top & bottom bars of your PPC screen.  These files are not neccessary for TodayPlus.  I just included them for those who use the above mentioned programs and wish to have matching graphics.

I think it all looks pretty good so far:
1) Modified the selected tabs so they don't overlap the mem bar when selected
2) Battery meter seems to work and is updating fine on my iPAQ.

* Have NO idea how to set the paramaters to update the mem/storage area.  I have tried everything, but can't get it working.  If someone can tweak this section (bold lines added by me) to show an updated meter, it should be done.

Thanks for the new update. This is a great skin. I also updated my page to add more space for the calendar and task items as suggested and it is working very well.

I wanted to know how to make the "Main" tab the active tab when i reset the pda or have not been to the today screen in some period of time. Any help appreciated.

Also is it possible to create shortcuts to PI Tasks, PI Calendar or PI Notes? I inserted the shortcut but it only launches the PI program.

Hey, JS good luck in your troubleshooting effort and thank to both of you (Rgb08+JS) to consider my suggestion. Please let me know as soos as you figure it out..Please do not forget to replace the original battery/memory info on the main page with the one-month calendar as seen on Calendar skin. :D .

JS, for the overall balance and esthetic, you might consider to reduce the thickness of the bars a bit. (somewhere between your Logika and OSX)..

Great work, this is still by far my favourite skin.

I have been making a few small modifications to suit my personal taste e.g. changing the timezone settings so that the names are retrived from the config file and giving the apps launcher the same layout (with the text descriptions) as the games section (if I ever need more I will try and add an additional page). However the one thing I haven't worked out how to reimplement in this version is replacing the stocks page with a standard RSS feed can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Arbitrajeu, I tried the initregion command you posted and it doesn't seem to happy about this when TodayPlus is first restarted and hence I assume after a soft reset any ideas?

Also I have been thinking about how to get the SD card displayed and wondered about adding a page button which would flip between the Battery/memory display present now and the SD/CF card values (although currently only my SD slot is in use) is this possible?

Just in case anyone else has been trying to get the  SilverAqua (http://www.dark-mojo.com/TodayPlus/download.php?id=80) skin posted in the origin OS-X skin thread working with Wisbar Advance I have created a WA skin file which combines this with the default WA skin buttons plus a badly photoshoped tap and hold OK and close buttons which works reasonably well. I have not done the custom buttons, connected/disconnected buttons or notification buttons because I do not use these although I have creayted a bad menu button as I did consider having a crack at all of them at one point. Anyway if anyone who is a bit more artistically inclined wants to have a go at this I have attached the skin file and (very rough) buttons.

Well, as I've stated many times, I am NO artist and don't know enough about Today Plus to really make that many changes.

Adding the battery and memory meters to OSX was simple enough, but as I said in an earlier post, I don't know how to get the mem meters to update in the new position.  

I am really just playing and trying to learn.  Since rbg08 did all the Today Plus work on this skin and has already said he will update the OSX skin with some new stuff, I'll leave that to him.  

I will be glad to share the small changes I have already made......but I WON'T be modifying the skin any more than that.

I don't use PI, but it sounds like the shortcut path you have defined in your config file is to the main program and not the individual sub-programs (i.e.: Tasks, Calendar).  Try searching your PPC directory and see if you can find the correct path to open those sub-programs directly.

First off, thank you for this skin, I really like it! Now I have a question. In the spot where it says the time of the last update, is there a way to get that to show the current time? I update mine every morning so would rather see the current time there. Thank you!

rbj08: I have tried without much success to accomplish this:
Put the one-month calendar (as seen in Calendar skin) to OSX main page to replace the battery/memory portion.

I'm a french user of your fabulous Todayplus OSX 0.9.8 skin.
I work every day on it to translate it slowly in french and adapt it for my own work.
What I don't get to work correctly is the use of new french adapted rss feeds instead of them you use.
I did what you ask Morpheus to do , apparently the possibility is here but I've not a great success!!!
For example , I modify in the config File

Nothing else than the Title (Le Monde is written instead of Pocket PC Thoughts)changes.One time I got a feed to work , but it hadn't no interest for me!
The only think I'd noted with this working feed was that it was rss version=2.0 and not version=0.91 like the other one.
What can I do?

Yes, TodayPlus checks the timestamp on the files in the Program Files\TodayPlus\Buffer directory and if it has been updated in the last 60 minutes (as defined by the third parameter in the rss command) it doesn't update.  

If you want to force an update, delete the rss1.txt and rss1.txt.time files in that directory and refresh again.

I really don't think you need to find a 2.0 feed.  I'm pretty sure many of the feeds I've used, including BBC News, are v0.91 and these work fine.

When it's slashed, that tells TodayPlus you are offline, and therefore if you choose to look at the detail of the story it loads the offline html file it downloaded when you refreshed.  Note that not all html files are downloaded - that is controlled by the last parameter in the rss command.  See skin reference for more details.

None at all.  Try to avoid doing it in the middle of an update though.  We are also trying to minimise the number of hits we make on MSNBC.com, so just deleting all the rss files would be preferable.

I thought I might as well share this in case anyone else wanted to display thier SD/CF card space as per my previous post. The only problem so far is that if you don't have a CF card in the slot the bar shows about 50% and you get '?' displayed for the size. If you know how to fix this let me know.

You can now use the arrow to the top left of the battery meter to switch to the SD/CF card page and clicking on either of these will provide more details as per the meters on the main screen.  Clicking on the arrow in the SD/CF Card screen returns you to the Battery/Memory display.

If you use the if,storage,... command you can check for this.  For example:

I'd been going back and forth as to whether to really use TodayPlus, and then I installed this skin and now it has a permanent spot on my 2215.  I do have a question though.  On the Launcher tab, for the "games" the name of the game is listed next to the icon.  However, on the "apps" there are only icons (yes, in the config file, the name is there).  Can someone help me get the names and the icons on the apps?  Thanks.

This does limit you to nine apps, if you want more you will need to add an additional page to the launcher.

Well just gave that a try and it caused my IPAQ to lock up. The only way to unlock it was to do a soft reset and then replace the configuration file with one that didn't contain the if, storage checks before TodayPlus loaded (the password screen).

Below is the section of code I modified from my previous post, the syntax seems correct based on the last posted reference file:

That did it.

Looking at the reference file again it doesn't indicate that the else is optional, I just took it as read that it was, its just habit from programming in C++ all day  :)

Hello Morpheus and everybodu,

I've modified my config and skin files like you said it but got the same problem as you.
As soon as I click on the Button near the charging bar my HP5450 hangs on and I've to soft-reset
On by my skin file

I'm afraid I'm in a bit of a rush at the moment as I am heading off for the weekend so attached is my skin file. Be warned I replaced the stocks feed with another standard RSS feed as per the instructions in this thread, changed the apps to have the name displayed alongside them (meaning only 9 shortcuts available), the timezones displayed are defined in my config file with the first clock always showing local time and of course the storage changes.

This file is working great on my H2210.
