Title: BatteryPlus
Post by: Lordtwisted on November 14, 2003, 07:10:42 PM
Batteryplus specs.

I have created batteryplus. It is a system info region, to be used with any skin from version 0.9.8 on up. I will break down the sections on the main region. I created some new icons and used two from lightman, but modified them some. Here are some information and pics. I will be zipping them up tonight and will post it tonight or tomorrow morning.

           Battery section
1.   The icons will change depending on the battery status: Plug for AC, a grayed out battery for charging, regular battery for 75% to 100%, green battery for 50% to 75%, blue battery for 25% to 50%, and red battery for 0% to 25%. Also the text will change.
2.   If you click on the icons they will open up the battery program of your ppc.
3.   If you click the bar graph it will open up more info region.

Memory section
1.   Two icon change. Once you're memory reaches a certain percentage (chosen by user) it will change to a red memory other wise it is a regular memory.
2.   If you click on the icon it will open up the memory program of you're ppc.
3.   If you click the bar graph it will open up more info region.

SD/iPAQ section
1.   If the SD card is in it will show SD icon and info, otherwise it will show iPAQ icon and info.
2.   If you click either icon it will open explorer with their respectful folder
3.   If you click the bar graph it will open up more info region.

Uptime section
1.   When the ppc is synched the icon will grey out.

CF section
2.   If you tap the icon it will open up explorer with the CF folder open.
3.   If you click the bar graph it will open up more info region.

Reset/EST/Suspend
1.   It has a reset button and a suspend button for the ppc. I will include the small exe files for Reset and Suspend by rhm.
2.   It shows the reset time and the est time.

Post by: Lordtwisted on November 15, 2003, 09:33:50 AM
This version works with the lattest todaypluss version. In the last version i forgot to give you the gradient.bmp for the bars, i icludded them in the one. I includded the whole skin and config, .lnk files, icons, every thing should be in there. Enjoy.

Lordtwisted :lol:

edit: sorry, here is the right zip. And i also forgot to tell you about the est time in battery more info region, I created thet one before srs's est time. Mine is programed to my iPAQ 2215. It is set to my prefrences, backlihght.
On the iPaq 2215 under the battery section it has standby if you click that it will show you approx time left. so i programed it to be exactly down to the last 1%. If you get below 25 minutes it will display warnning... Depending on your settings it won't be exactly the same, unless you are close to my settings.

liopox,

 I fixed the zip in the above post.

Here is a tip/trick, you can use any folder to display it info. I don't have a cf card so i created a folder called CF card, and i can get all the info for that folder, just like a CD card CF card ect. here is a pic.

What are the icons for the sd card and cf card suppossed to link too? I have tried them in several locations and it brings up internet explorer and then says "The page you are looking for cannot be found."

Blazingwolf,

They bring up the SD/CF/IP folders with windows explorer, use my .lnk files that come with the last zip.

If your SD card is not renamed to SD card, then you have to change the shortcut to the correct name (ie storage card for example). You cannot simply rename the shortcut, you have to change it internaly.One tool i know to change them is to use resco explorer and edit the property of the shortcut. Beware, the part past the "?" is for the icon.

Yes you have to change some of the .lnk (shortcut) files to your folders.
And to open a .lnk all you need is note pad, just click all files and open the .lnk thats it. it looks like this:

20#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,4?\Windows\cplmain.cpl,-5067

Thats the one that comes with batteryplus for the memory.

I don't know what it is, but i've got the same problem. Wen i click the sd card icon, it says Error opening the shortcut. I've checked the shortcut and it is there en points to the right folder.

But.... the rest works perfect, you batterplus is awesome.

I think i know the proplem for the sd and cf card links i have this:

58#\windows\fexplore.exe \sd card?\windows\cplicons1.dll,-215

where it is refering to cplicons1.dll. i made this .dll for custom icons, so here it is.

I found a very small problem with the CF card icon. In the skin you have this section:

button,82,26,15,20,-1,0,%work10-highlight
                image,83,26,cf.bmp,t
      //button,161,0,70,24,9,4,300,8
      storage,storagepath3,used,128,23,CF: , MB,c,%.1f

Note that it says work10. It should say work12.

Definetly a great addition to TodayPlus lordtwisted. Thank you for the hard work.

Lordtwisted, I tried the .dll file. It goes in the windows file right? If it does I couldn't get it to work. :(  I had to change the icons themselves. Let me know if you need more info.

I've found the problem with the SD card. In the config.txt file it says:

shortcut,work10,\windows\Start Menu\SD card.lnk

it should be:

shortcut,work10,\windows\SD card.lnk

 Yogiman,
Yes that is where i call my SD card .lnk from. yes if you have your's in the window directory then you would have proplems. So for me it is correct. Thanks.

Thanks, Blazingwolf,

thaks, The shortcuts are made for my setup. I includded them to help poeple out, most of them will work on other ppc. but some you have to change. But since i included them it's easy to change.

If anyone is haveing trouble's with the links you have to make sure you have all your options in the config.txt correctly pointing to the corect folders where you but the .lnk or.exe or.dll depending what you want to use. in my cofig mine look like this:

shortcut,work6,\windows\powerg.exe
shortcut,work7,\windows\Memory.lnk
shortcut,work8,\Program Files\PHM Tools\Reset.exe
shortcut,work9,\Program Files\PHM Tools\Suspend.exe
shortcut,work10,\windows\Start Menu\SD card.lnk
shortcut,work11,\windows\ipaq.lnk
shortcut,work12,\windows\CF card.lnk

You might have to creat or change mine to get a couble to work, All you do is open the.lnk in a txt editor(I use notepad)nd chnge the link to whatever you need. I included these .lnk's for ease of not having to creat all of them you'r self and if you do have to change one, you can open mine and all you have to do is change the path.

LT,

 Thanks for the incredible work you have done. You have every thing rolled up into one. keep up the good work. I hope to see more work from you soon.

Battery+ should be apart of srs's slider skin.

Thanks fishboy,

If you'r interested for you'r skin refrence tip section, i found out that you can display any folder as like a CD card would. you can show all the info on a regular folder. It is verry handy. I am not good at explaining things.
You are verry good at that, as i can see that from the skin refrence.

Thanks, LordTwisted, thats an interesting tip.

You could use a storage command to define a path to something like your temp, temporary internet, or other folder that accumlates junk files.  Then you could display its stats on todayplus for monitoring to detemine when it is time to flush this folder.  You could add a button event to the icon to call a program to flush the contents, of just open it in file explorer for manual deleting.  Then you would have one more feature that I believe BatteryPlus provides.

LT:

Thanks for Battery+ which I am using in Blazingwolf's "calenadar" skin.

I have all the shortcuts working with the ba+icons and access power,mem,sd & cf card.

I have a problem with the cf usage bar.  It shows the amount of space used properly, however when I tap on it it gives me the storage information from my sd card.  I have looked at reg. 8 & 9 and have yet seen where I correct this.

Any help is greatly appreciated.  I will try to attach my skin file.

Thanks in advance.

Edit:
I have tried the Add Attachment, however I can't get the file in this post :?

bearcatx16,

 Your welcome, look for this in you'r skin at the bottom.

//=================================================
// REGION 9 - PAGE 400
// Storage Details
// Subregions:
//=================================================
region,9,400,-1
imagebutton,226,2,back.png,t,9,3,,8

               //if,storage,storagepath1

changefont,tahoma,11,b
text,120,0,CF Card:,c
changefont,tahoma,11,
draw,roundrect,50,14,140,9,-1_6_-1,h
               image,52,16,sdipbackl.bmp,t
storage,storagepath3,bar,52,16,136,5,-1_6_-1
storage,storagepath3,used,10,24,, MB,l
storage,storagepath3,total,55,24,/ , MB,l
storage,storagepath3,usedpercent,110,24,(,%),l,%.0f
storage,storagepath3,free,140,24,(free:, MB,l
storage,storagepath3,freepercent,210,24,,%),l,%.0f

You'rs will say storagepath1.
It should be storagepath3 not storagepath1.

I installed Battery+ and with a few tweaks got most everything working.
I however do not  have a SD card yet.

The gradient for bat. & mem. does not show the blue and is white instead.
I looked for the gradient.bmp in the zip and do not see it.

Also since my ipaq does not have CF ability, can this indicator be removed without having to reformat that entire region of the skin?

Thanks.

jmarcus,

It has to do with color, but this in the beginning of the battery section:

color,font,0_0_0

this will make it black, change the code at the end to what ever color you want.

what would you like in place of it?
