I'd like to see a TodayPlus logo or graphic that srs can use to brand TodayPlus. I think someone mentioned a logo contest, but that sounds like an activity that someone has to manage, and I think we are all pretty much slackers at heart! :lol:

I would love to set up a contest to create a logo for TodayPlus and the boards. The sad part is that since TodayPlus is free, we have no price to give for the winner aside from a big :cup: and our thanks.
That said, if anyone wants to make a logo for the site, by all means, go ahead. :D
You could give the winner a free update to the next version. Wait, they get a free update to the next version already. Ok how about a month a free access to the TodayPlus forum? That won't work, they get that anyways.
I know, I will personal give the winner a picture of daughter! :D
I've suggested a skin contest for XMas, and I can understand producing the graphic
arts might take a while. Nevermind, I'm sure it'll come back sometime :D
But branding T+ is key : a logo is likely to end up being the only common
point behind all those skins, maybe the only thing that will tell users that
srs is at the origine of all this.
As for the prize, forget money, I believe no one here is expecting to make money out this.
BTW, real fun is (still) free !
I can tip in a genuine picture of the Eiffel Tower glowing at night as taken from my window :D

Should we forward all the proposed logos to srs and let him choose, or post them all in a forum (this thread) and set up a community poll?
We can require that all proposed logo's contain 'srs' or 'SRSoft' to ensure that the logo directly credit the TodayPlus developer.
As far as a prize, I like (1) a TodayPlus Forum Lifetime Membership, and (2) the acceptance and glowing appreciation on behalf of the international TodayPlus community.
Oh, and I have an old tin of potted sandwich spread that I'd be willing to donate: the 100% original American SPAM(http://www.spam.com/). I received it as a prize myself a few years ago and kept it just in case I could find it a good home. :shock: :lol:
Here's a thought I had last night. I used the today page icon in the start menu to start, and incorporated the idea of a turning page. The diamond shape looked good with the little roof on the house and was initially an accident but I kept it. I kept the "plus" reference simple. The whole usual icon set has been done to death, so I figure blending elements of more than one icon would be more unique and demonstrate the multi-faceted uses of this app.
Anyway, feel free to flame, critique, post your own, etc.
I think starting off with a color set would be nice...not married to this example by any means. I used #cccc99 and #336699...this is just a comp of course. I am going for something that can be worked into a logo for the site as well as a program icon and that's what I think we should be going for here. Logo is all about establishing identity, and that identity needs to work throughout...on the website, colors, the program icon, etc... Once the "look" is established by a logo or an icon, then it can be repurposed into a webpage header graphic or whatever....
Good start. I might consider making the turning of the page a little smaller so that more of the today icon can be seen. Just a thought,

I am no web-designer, but I seem to like the idea of playing around with t's and +'s. So here are a few more pics. I'd really like to see some other pics from you talented guys out there.
Just a note: be careful about your combination of "T" and "+". There's a thumbnail program called "ThumbsPlus" that uses that. Just stay away from anything too close.

Good advice. It will be better to use TD+, IMO.
All the logo look great. So far I would have to say I like snaggle's the most.
I am going to try to flesh out some more tonight...some alternative ideas and some incorporating the use of "T" and "+". I have a few more things running around in my head.

Motivated by MadTxn's thought above, I spent some time trolling around the web in search of items (sites, products, and images) referencing "Today Plus". If another logo existed for the same title, I wanted to make sure that we were aware of it. I am sure srs did this before he got started as I was not able to find any other 'Today Plus' PPC application other then this shareware version in Germany: http://www.toshiba.mobile2day.de/produkt.php?pid=7125.
Maybe someone conversant in Deutsch can track down a logo if it has one?

okay...what are feelings on the square with the turned corner? I thought it could be a good "container" for the thing. I like it better in the one I did above. I like the slightly slanted look too. I haven't paid any attention to color either, so I'd love some ideas.

I really like the blue and orange icon. I made a small, quick tweak to offer a suggestion. Lining up the d in today and the p in plus helps the readability of the icon. The colors still need to be adjusted.

I find that one icon that represent today plus is a suiço penknife, given the enormous utilities that if have with this program.

My personal preference is actually have capital 'T' and 'P', as I'm not too big a fan of the '+'

this last set looks very nice, snaggle. The only thing I would change is capitalize the 't' and the 'p', and I think it will be perfect.
I can make the "t" capitalized, it might alter the image a little. I had wanted to keep the wrench image. Perhaps I can just lop off the top part of the "t" to make a "T"
I can capitalize the "p" easily and provide 32x32 and 16x16 icons of the "T+/wrench image" tonight. I forget, do they have to be 8 or 16 bit bitmaps? What is the Pocket PC OS standard?

I like the blue/orange logo. But I think a real T vs a + would look even better (The plus is already there in name, no need to be redundant with the symbol).

Yeah, I see what you mean. The graphic is actually more of a banner. As far as the logo part, I would drop the text altogether.
