I dont mean to hurt anyones feelings, but i'd like to have TodayPlus ONLY display the weather, and nothing else. No toolbars or anything. Is there any way to do this throught eh config file? Thanks

Not with the config file. You would need to make a weather only skin file. I believe you can use the standard slider skin, just delete all other regions except for the weather region. It might take a little tinkering, but you should be able to get it to work fine.
I used to think the same thing, a weather only region. But then again, it probable want take long before you want to do everything that TodayPlus offers.
got it, thanks, works great....now, how do I get rid of that annoying selection box that goes around the first weather entry? Also, does anyone have a defualt slider.txt lying around, I want to add a link to activesync somewhere. Thanks

As far as having a link to ActiveSync, just place a shortcut wherever you find room. It should look something like this, assuming you have apps-1-1 set to ActiveSync in your config file:
shortcut,4,0,apps1-1,s
button,<x>,<y>,16,16,-1,0,%apps-1-1
(Where <x> and <y> is the position you would like in pixels.)
ok, I added it, and I can see the activesync icon, but it stays in the upper lefthand section of today plus, and no matter what I do, it stays there....ive posted the zip files in case anywent thinks they know how to fix it. Thanks again

Here you go, a boring Weather only region with a signal shortcut. :D
I had to use the "Washington Post" icons in the below screen capture, the BBC icons don't show up on a dark background.

To follow the excepted standards for shortcut naming, in the version I release, it will be for apps-1-1 and not quick1.

Well between Christmas shopping and wrapping, I was able to find the time to add the "refresh" button and do some minor format tweaking. I also changed the single shortcut so that it is now for "apps-1-1" and not "quick1".
There seems to be some type of bug that I can't seem to nail down. If you are viewing the forecast for the last day, tapping the screen doesn't seem to take you back. I'll try to find some time today and figure out what is causing that, unless some else can figure out first.

It looks like a variable not properly initilalized.
I fixed it.
Just remove the two lines
button,189,18,46,20,3,4,200,1
button,189,18,46,20,-1,6,var1=4
AND
Change the 36 value in to 46 in the two lines above these ones.
in the weather.txt file.

That is odd? Those lines were all ready in the standard slider skin, I just adjusted the sizes. It is an interesting clue. I'll look into it some more and see if I can figure out why now it is a problem.

You have scrapped too many lines from the original slider skin and that's probably the reason why the skin you've made is not working 100% properly.
I did the same than you from scratch and I have now a fully functional weather only skin.
I can share it of course but it has been completely localized to French.

I am currently in the middle of a move, so I haven't had the time. I have looked compared the changes TransFXB to the ones I had made, if I have time I might be able to get my version posted earlier in this thread fixed.
sublime, the idea came first from jhollin1138. I only took it and made it work.
I should have kept the original English file, but I didn't.
If you are patient, I am sure that jhollin1138 will come to a fix soon for the English version.
I have also added some cosmetics : low's are displayed in blue and high's in red. That's a simple change that has to be made everywhere temperature is displayed.

Not entirely answering your question but this is something I do when making changes. Whether I am changing fonts, colors, size or anything; I like to localize any changes that I am making to the item with the change.
For example, if I was adding wind-speed and wind-direction to the forecast section and I wanted to change to a bold font. I would make the change to the bold font, output the data and change back to the standard font right after. It would look something like this:

is this skin working with 0.11? guess not....

Ok, I wound up retrying to enter the French skin, but noticed that no icons show up. Anyone else have that problem?
edit: I found the problem two seconds after this post. The skin asked for weather icons from "Weather.com" when I had the "Washington Post" icons. Oops

Well, here is an improved 'Weather only' English version for 0.11.0
I call it 'Weather Only - version 1.3.1 for 0.11.0'
It now displays the time (minutes, hours or days) since last update.
Includes also some minor cosmetics.
I will maintain both English and French versions in the future.
Please check if some translations are missing.

TransFXB, wonderful job on the skin. I found no translation errors, but I found two really teeny tiny bugs:
1) the amount of minutes since last update is put in the word "minutes," so that the word is on top of the amount.
2) press any day, press right twice, and I'll get a screen with blank info. It's really not that big of a deal, but you seem to be a perfectionist, so I thought I'd let you know.
I also encountered a "Unknown Code: 181" and have no clue how to fix it myself.

Unfortunately I connected to Active Sync and got a new weather update, and lost the 181 code. Sorry bro. I went to MSNBC just to look for it, but lost it upon syncing.
I noticed another small thing, though I'm not sure whether it's just my PPC, where the top of the words are cut off. For example, what should be "Tue" is really "lue" and such.

Right Sublime. Height of this region is not properly set. In French, we don't use capitals for the first letter of the days of the week. That's why I didn't notice that.

replace 'offsetadd,0,54' by 'offsetadd,0,56' just before the command
'endregion,3,0'.

As a "non-programmer" and a complete newbie to this I have to say that this skin is simply great. But I have a small suggestion to this:
is it possible to include the sunrise/sunset and the moonphase to this skin? This would be very great!!! Can you implement this?

Just move the file 'slider.txt' located on your pocket PC to your desktop and open it with any notepad or wordpad.
Then remove the // that are placed at the begining of the lines related to sunset/sunrise.
Then replace the existing slider.txt file by the one you've just edited.

i modified the slider skin:
1) removed box around first listed weather
2) converted celsius to farinhiet
3) cosmetic changes : last update time moved closer, format on current conditions tightened up.

Thanks to some ideas from LightMan. Tapping the city name will take you to the next city and, tapping the dates will do a refresh.
As before, all I did was strip down the the standard slider skin. I didn't spend much time running it so I can't guarantee it is 100% bug free. Feel free to let me know if there are any.
