Since it still isn't posted here and I got some requests for it, here it is.
Here are some of the features included :
- minimizable to 1 row only (18 pixels)
- when maximized, the main area is only 64 pixels high
- quicklaunch scrolls between TodayPlus buttons and 1 row of shortcut launcher
- clicking on any of the digital clocks will bring the system clock panel (thanks to oguime's tip )
- 2 city weather feeds
- 2 shorcut launcher pages in the main area
- 5 news feeds
- 9 headlines per each news feed
- change from offline to online rss links by cliking in the site name
- rss details expand by 25 pixels to provide more reading space
I've tested/used this skin quite a bit, so it should be pretty stable, but if anyone using it encounters any issues, please do let me know.
Installation instructions :
- Place the LM_XPSet directory under TodayPlus\Images
- Place the lm_minimize.txt under TodayPlus\Skins
- Place the config.txt in TodayPlus main dir
- Place clock.lnk in TodayPlus main dir

I really love this skin. I thought you might like to see what other's can do with it - a very slight modification using glaunch from fishboy (and your icon for handy menu!) Thanks for your hard work and to you and the others here who helped me figure how to modify it.

Very nice mod ya1950 :)
btw, I've now replaced the "TodayPlus" text with the current battery uptime :D (v0.9.5 only)
I'm making some changes and may release an updated version soon :)
... btw, Juni's excellent skin+theme also helps for eyecandy ;)
I'm going to look at the battery uptime now and cut and paste it. Nice idea. Can't wait to see what you come up with next :D

Lightman, In you skin, Timezon shows LOCAL, Amsterdam, Cairo, etc.
I'd like to change the cities. How do I do.
I saw in the config.txt you refer to Timezone. Where Can I find the infos (for each city)? Thanks!

The timezone reference paper can be found here. (http://dark-mojo.com/TodayPlus/viewtopic.php?t=3) It is in the general forum under the sticky thread of reference. Hope this helps.
Ya1950: I like very much your modification of Lightman skin. Is there anyway you can share yours?
I am intersted in the top part. As far as TodayPlus GLaunch. I applause your effort but I would use a separate free program called CLaunch instead ( !), which offers easier user interface (add, order, icon, size, tab, etc.)http://pachome1.pacific.net.sg/~welic/claunch.html

I am sure the the CLaunch is a nice application, but I believe the goal here is to do as much as possible within the TodayPlus plugins, which has the benifit of saving memory and decreasing the number of installed plugins. The one thing that CLaunch can't do is to be easly shown/hidden as or be swapped with other "pages" of information to save Today screen real estate share.
This is something that can be done within TodayPlus skins with the proper skin file configuration (albiet a manual one). By using all the features with TodayPlus, you can create a more integrated look.

Yes, I'm aware of claunch. That's why fishboy's launcher appealed to me. I like having as few plugins running as possible. As for the posting the modification I feel kind of funny since a. It's LM's skin and b. I probably messed up something in the code
As for the top part I simply modified the code as follows to add the date and time and to refresh the clock every minute:
//region,17,0,-1
region,17,0,60
//offsetadd,0,1
defregion,17,0,0,240,18,2 // DEFINITION OF PAGE 2 REGION
changefont,tahoma,13,b
time,5,0,-1,5,l,"dddd, MMMM d, yyyy "
changefont,tahoma,12,b
time,185,0,-1,5,l,," h:mm tt"
offsetadd,0,18
//offset,offset_-1,offset_-1
Hope this helps,
ya1950

I'm really looking forward to this update! Nice work already but with the battery uptime, it will be even better!
Keep on going!

Awesome work.
One request. I use "12-hour" time formats on my iPAQ and the little time indicator in brackets next to the refresh button isn't justified. Basically, the time reads [2:46 PM] and the left side number 2 is unreadable.
You can check it out by changing your PPC format to the 12-hour type.
Thanks again for the great work.

Hmmm I see, I will have that in account when I release the next version ;)

dhpss, can you clarify please how to create such a calendar as you have on the right of your date region?
I saw this in other screenshots, but didn't quite get if it's a special "square" font or some small bitmaps are used for digits and letters.
Thanks.

This calendar is not from TodayPlus. It is from My!Calendar plug-in http://www.jgui.net/today/index.html
However, see in the New Skins/ Graphics section you wll fine the Calendar Skin, which accomplishes this with TodayPlus.

Thanks, I've figured that out already. TodayPlus simulates the same look quite well, that's why I was confused :)

Yes, I already use it, I just liked the font used in My|Calendar - it looks much better than Tahoma (regardless of ClearType settings). And I also like to have another color for weekends and selection for the current day as it's done in My|Calendar. But that's probably just a feature request to
srs :)
Hey guys,
just a quick update on my side :
I haven't stopped skinning, just been really busy (and seems like it won't stop so soon :( )
Anyway, I've added some new stuff to my Minimize skin, namely a battery/memory/storage section and a poom section as well.
I'm just seeing if I can get some free time in order to check the new commands of the latest versions and update my skin accordingly by tweaking it, especially the issues related with the new IF commands.
Anyway, I've got rid of almost all full refreshes and basically, I left only 2 of them (1 for minimize, 1 for maximize) The skin is blazing fast now :D
You may ask why the system metters are so "fat"? Well personally I don't like to display percentages inside the metters, but I've seen that many people like it so there is a line per each bar in the skin that you only need to uncoment and it will display the percentages in the metters, that's why I've kept the metters a bit thicker ;)
I plan to release v2.0 of this skin next weekend :)

Looking good! A quick question if you have the time. How do you get the icons from Battery Bar to show without an ugly black box around them? I extracted the icons from BatteryPack, used the t variable to try to get a transparent background but I still get a box around them and not the pretty icons that you get. I'm sure I'm missing something but what :?

Personally, I edited them with MS Paint and replaced the areas I wanted transparent with (255,0,255), then used following command in my skin:
color,transparent,255_0_255

Exactly ;)
LightMan or arbitrajeu,
Would you mind posting the Battery Pack icons with transparent backgrounds? I could probably get them myself, but it would me much easier if you could post what you already have (I know, I'm lazy :D ). I promise I won't use them in my skins until after you release yours, LightMan.
rbg08,
It only takes a couble of minutes to creat you'r own like i did. And plus made some for charging,75%,50%,25&, mem, memlow,sd,cf,filestore, uptime,AC. And they all change depends on what the battery region is displaying at the time.
Lordtwisted

Here are the battery pack icons. Feel free to use them when you want, they're not mine anyway ;)
I've already begun making my own (although slowly)
EDIT: I'm having problems in adding an attachment (zip), is it just me?
arbitrajeu or lightman
Pardon me for being so dense but I don't understand "... replaced the areas I wanted transparent with (255,0,255)" I'm using the freebe paint program that came with XP and I don't see any way to use those numbers with the program. Do I need to get MS Paint to do this or am I missing something. Thanks
ya1950
EDIT: OK, so I am dense. Just checked the help file and now I see what you guys are talking about. Thanks for putting up with a non-graphical newbe :)

Glad you sorted it out, I was hitting the reply button when I noticed you had edited your post in the meantime ;)
Are going to add a calendar section to the next update of the skin by chance? I am going to start working on this if not. I figure I will finish about the time that you update the skin to 0.10 and will need to start over
Thanks for the Great Work.

Well, I wasn't planning to add a calendar, but I guess I can use the same space that I use for the Agenda to include also a calendar accesible through a simple button...
Anyway, I've been having some major problems converting this from v0.9.8 to v0.10.0 so that's why I've had to postpone the release :(
Lightman,
What are you using for the agenda and tasks? It looks like the roll up/down. Thanks.

Lightman,
I think that your skin is one of the best here, but I'm trying to add cities to the weather section and just couldn't find a way.
I've tried the "var, numcities," on the config.txt file with the "calcvar,var29,fromconfig,numcities" on the skin file, but it does not work.
Could you please give some advice ont it?
P.S. By the way, I'm from Brazil and I travel a lot to your country, so continue com o ótimo trabalho!!

Have you tried this FAQ (http://dark-mojo.com/TodayPlus/viewtopic.php?p=212#212)?
If you're trying to add extra cities to the config.txt, rather than just changing the ones that are there you need to add extra city,... commands and increment the var,numcities... accordingly.
Thanks for your answer, Arbitrajeu, but this is just what I did, and nothing happens.
The Lightman Minimize was originally:
city,1,30,POXX0016,Lisboa,c
city,2,30,POXX0022,Porto,c
//city,2,30,POXX0020,P.Delgada,c
//city,3,30,POXX0032,Sta.Maria,c
with no "var, numcities," on the skin file.
I did the following:
var,numcities,4
city,1,60,BRXX0186,POA,c
city,2,60,10001,New York,c
city,3,60,BRXX0232,São Paulo,c
city,4,60,UYXX0006,Montevideo,c
and on the skin file:
calcvar,var29,fromconfig,numcities
I would aprecciate any help.
Quote from: RobertoThanks for your answer, Arbitrajeu, but this is just what I did, and nothing happens.
You will need to clear the buffer and refresh, and you should now see at least the first two of your cities' weather.
However, in the absence of a numcities variable, it is likely that Lightman has hardcoded the number of weather cities his skin deals with. You will need to check the skin to see how it handles switching cities and may need more extensive changes. I don't have time to look at it right now, but should get a chance in a few hours time.
Anyone else have bandwidth?
The thing is that the version posted here was made for v0.9.8, so if you want to add 2 more cities (notice that I only had 2 active) you'll have to make the necessary changes in the weather section of the skin as well (add the load commands as many times as the cities you want, etc)
Sorry, but I don't have much time now to get into more details or take a look at it myself.
btw, as I referred previously, a MAJOR (and I mean major) update to this skin is being made and is now about 80% done.
Thank both of you for answering.
As I'm new to the skin developing I will wait for your major update Lightman.
I'm closing this topic, since this skin will be released under a new name and I'm opening a new topic for it afterwards.
