Basic (very basic)info please

Hi I'm new to PPC ownership and been looking for freeware to put on my ipaq

A lot of people are recommending Today plus, but can anyone tell me exactly what it can do - looking at some of the threads on here it may be too comlicated for my needs.  (is it the same as wisbar advance)


a basic expanation of what it is and can do is all I need oh and alos how reliable is it (i have some IT knowledge but am no programmer)

Well, first of all welcome to the forum.

TodayPlus is different from WisBar Advanced.  WBA basically "skins" the Menu and Task Bar (the top and bottom bar on your PPC).  TP skins the area between by allowing you to include any of the following.

• Weather Section
  
• RSS Section
  
• System Information
  
• POOM Information (Task & Calender Information)

You can either use the default skin or one of the skins found here.  Although, the TP Skin coding can be overwhelming at first, it gets easier the more you work with it.

Just remember while this forum was at one time the official TP forum, we no longer host the program.  You should be able to find it elsewhere easy enough.  Just remember TodayPlus is one word and not two.

Hi there, thanks for the warm welcome

I've managed to get ver11 and decided to give it a go

I am following reading the quick start guide and have downloadloaded the netcompact frame work as per instruction

first problem encountered  (but definately not the last I guess)

when i try to install netcompactframework to my ppc, I select browse off the install meunu but my ipaq does not appear in the list of drives to install to

However I can sync the ipaq  with activsync Ver 3.8 and my ipaq shows as  'mobile device' shows in the 'my computer listing'  why isnt it being recognised as a drive to install to ??

or am I jsut being thick

What version of PPC do you have on your PPC?  You only need to install it on PPC 2002.

If I have this right understood: there is no Problem to install the Netcompactframework on a WM 2003 Device.
