Title: City codes?
Post by: dbr on January 08, 2004, 10:00:43 AM
:?  Is there anywhere else that we can get the city codes for the weather if we can't use the Search option in config.exe?

Thanks,
Dave

Go to http://www.weather.com/ and search for the weather there. Once found, go to the current weather and then look in the URL in the browser. It'll be something like

http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/local/PKXX0011?from=search_current

here you can see the code PKXX0011. You can use this code directly in TodayPlus.

Hey Thanks!

I'm looking for the town of Avezzano east of Rome, Italy.  It doesn't come up  :(  and Rome works but I kinda wanted to zero in a little closer.  Guess I'll have to check out a map for another good sized town.

Thanks again Itanium!  :D

well ya. not every little town has an entry in this system, so you have to go for the closest one.

Hey dbr,

if you look into my translation of ver 0.10.0, I also included the complete list of the available locations in Italy  :D

Thank you very much for the list!

It appears after going through your list that Rome may still be the closest for weather info.

I appreciate your help!  :)
