As a newbie PDA user (e800) and a non-programmer, I am overwhelmed by the skill and patience of you guys - loads of really amazing capabilities that make the PDA screen - well, cool and interesting, I guess.
I will never see these things on my screen. I am old and have never learned programming, and I'm not going to start now (not through laziness - i just don't get it).
I may seem as I browse around here to be the only one, but I'm assuming there are lots of people who own PDAs but aren't programmers. So my question is - are you planning on a commercial version of this wonderful tool? If so I'm in the market - otherwise I'm out in the cold with my nose pressed up against the window!!
I'm looking at some basic functions - weather for where I live and places I go, time zone clocks, news feeds maybe - pretty basic stuff to you guys I would imagine. Any plans?
athelstan, I suggest taking a look at the quick start guide I made, which is now a sticky at the top of these boards. I know a bit of entry level programming, but did not have to do anything special to get this tool to work. The biggest issue I found was just following the steps in a peticular order. If you do not put in the information in the setup boxes, you usually run into problems which you've seen people post about. Take a look at my post and see if that helps you out. I'd be more than happy to try and help others on a non-technical level, just reply to my original post , and i'll try to help. If it's a good question i'll try to edit it into my original guide.

Though maestro has already answered your post very well, I would like to say a few words too.
One need not be a programmer, or even an expert PPC user for that matter, to use TodayPlus. All the difficulties are taken care of. Most part by the developer srs and rest by the skinners. Take a look in the Skins sections of the board and see which one do you like most (even the default one provided by srs himself has all the things you need and more).
Then ofcourse just spend 15 or so minutes reading meastro's post and following the directions.
And I (we) offer you a commercial version here :). Follow the instructions and ask whatever you want to ask after that (there is no such thing as a foolish question). And you have to pay with thanks and appreciation to those who help you here. How does that deal sound to you? :D
I'm also not a programer. I remember the 'old' days when TodayPlus was a thread at Brighthand and I couldn't figure out what was going on with all this. To second Itanium, install the program, chose a skin you like, and then post away either in the help section or in the section where the skin is posted. Folks here are very, very helpful. Enjoy!
I second (? third :D ) those comments. Load it, try it, and if you get stuck, just ask. People on this board are very helpful.

One thing I would also like to mention:
At the beginning, keep it simple.
*RESIST* the urge to add new skins and functionality "out of the gate" until you are familiar with the default skin.
The more you change, the more "points" of failure you potentially create for yourself, particularly in a Beta product.
BTW, commercial doesn't necessarily mean better. Unfortunately however projects such as these have a tendency to "lose" focus from time to time.
Once the feature set stabilizes, it will become *a lot* easier to document and use. Until then, I would not use this in *ANY* production environment (i.e. use it at your own risk).
Luckily however, there is certainly no shortage abled bodied talent here......
