Title: Trouble using config
Post by: comp-time on January 17, 2004, 03:35:26 PM
Hello all.  I need help on the config please.  I have an IPAQ 2215 w/PPC2003.  I am new to Pocket PC.  I installed Today Plus according to directions without .NET SP2.  I could enter information into the owner info screen and tap OK to save, however, when I selected city in weather/RSS screen and tapped OK the information was not saved.  I then installed .NET SP2 and tried again.  Same problem.  I then used "remove programs" to remove .NET SP2 and Today Plus thinking I had to install .NET SP2 first and then install Today Plus. Then I followed the Quick Start Guide installing .NET SP2 and then Today Plus as instructed.  I did soft resets in between.
When I opened Config, I was surprised to see that information was still there in the owner info screen that I put in prior to the uninstall.  The time and storage path information was there also.  When checking my Lat and Long, I noticed it was wrong and I tried to correct it.  When I put in the new Lat and Long and tapped OK, it did not save the new Lat and Long.  I then went to weather/RSS screen and put in zip, got city fine and then tapped OK to save but same problem as before, nothing was saved.
Now, I can not change anything that was entered prior to the uninstall and I can not save anything new I enter by tapping OK.  Do I need to delete a file and start config over?  Why won't it save information I put in the config screens by tapping OK?  I have spent several hours on this and am very frustrated.  This is such a great program; I would really like to get it to work.  I sure would appreciate some help on this.  Thank you for taking your time to help me out.

After the city info comes up you need to highlight the city for it to save. To do this tap on the city name. It should now be a blue line and white lettering. For the long and lat I believe that there is a bug here that will be fixed later. To save the long and lat enter them and then tap on another entry point in the screen and then save. That should get you up and working.
