Title: Question about RSS Feed
Post by: q1n on January 28, 2004, 03:33:00 PM
Okay, when I go to the news section, I get all these headlines. When I click on one, there is about 3 lines of indepth text, but then it cuts off with no scrollbar...how do I see the full story?

You will need to cache the page to get the whole story. what you are getting is just a synopsis to get you interested. To do this ope n up the config app and go to the weather/RSS tab. Then tap on the link you wish to cache pages for, then tap edit. Enter how many pages you want to cache. 1 news story is 1 cache page. Be careful, there is a bug with regard to this section of TodayPlus. People have had problems of running out of memory because a page does not cache correctly. Not all web sites can be cached with TodayPlus.

What you need to do will vary a little depending on the skin that you're using. I attach a graphic of my screen. You'll see the RSS section, with 3 headlines showing. If I click on the text of the headline, it opens the "detail summary", as you said. But on my graphic you'll also see that the top headline has a red button to the right side of the scrollbar. The way I have my skin set up, that red button appears only if the web page related to the particular headline has been successfully cached by TP. (I'm showing you a situation in which I've scrolled down through this particular rss site, and have reached a point where the top page is cached, but the others are not). And if I click on the red button, it opens the cached web page.....
