has anyone tried this? i changed the date forward to beyond 29.feb.2004 and then soft reset. obviously tp+ doesn't show up on today page, but then using total commander to navigate to the todayplus.exe file, i double tapped and viola tp+ runs again - but this time as a 'program' and not as a today page plugin. you can close it, minimize it, etc.
what you do lose is the background and the weather icons. haven't really tried any of the other features extensively, but went through them quickly and they all seem to work except as mentioned, the weather icons for the 5-day forecast.
any body else tried this? at least you can still have tp+ after the expiration date, but won't have it as a plugin...
check and let me know if this is also the case with yours?
Hmmmm. It seems to run with a white background, that obscures whatever is behind it. My weather icons worked fine at first - maybe yours didn't work because MSNBC weather was down for a while today. BUT, I decided to test the "refresh" function, so I deleted all the files in the Buffer. When I tried to refresh -- it refused to do so. It behaved the same way that it does when (run as a plugin) you try to refresh too soon - it tries briefly, then gives up. So, it looks to me that running it as an exe, rather than as a plugin, would prevent you from ever being able to use the weather & rss functions. The POOM region still works fine (with AgendaFusion, in my case), as do the world clock, system, and launcher regions......
All the best........Scotty
