Babelfish does not do a good job translating this!  It seems that you have written some sort of date changer batch file. Can you please elaborate.

I folowed the directions as close as I could and found that this batch works great. The only stipulation is that you must reset with TP.exe.  Everyone can now use TodayPlus as long as they want (And I didnt even have to patch it... yet)  =)

Yea I got the directions down. Installation seems ok. Everything is working except it is not changing my date back to 2004. It stays on 2003 after the reset. I will experiment with it.

You made these modifications ?

For WM2003 OS English user:
Please correct the TodayPlus.ns + TodayPlus2.ns with an text editor
from
copyfile("\\Script\\TodayPlus2.lnk","\\Windows\\Autostart\\TodayPlus2.lnk");
to
copyfile("\\Script\\TodayPlus2.lnk","\\Windows\\Startup\\TodayPlus2.lnk");

from
DeleteFile("\\Windows\\Autostart\\TodayPlus2.lnk");
to
DeleteFile("\\Windows\\Startup\\TodayPlus2.lnk");

The problem is in the first script, TodayPlus.ns.

On the english version there is no AutoStart directory. It is called StartUp.

Edit: I have attached a version with directories already included and the autostart's changed to startup's. All you have to do is extract the three directories to your desktop, turn on activesync and expore your device, double-click on "my pocket pc" and drag the three folders into there. Then you can run TP.exe from  the startmenu programs listing.


I have moved the file download to the thread entitled TodayPlus date change workaround because this thread is cluttered with confusion and needs to die IMO

What will this do for you? Does it allow total use of TodayPlus, Including weather and rss? Where on the pocket PC do you put the files? And does it work as a plugin or as a regular program?

First, before placing the folders in ppc what I have to make?

And later the folders goes for where? Program Files/scriptM goes for it program Files?

The Script Folder where I place?

The Windows folder goes it to windows/star menu/ programs and there I place only the TP.exe? Forgives my ignorance LOL! :oops:

Thanks for the English instructions but it doesn't work here (WM2003 iPAQ 5555):

Update:  ahhh, Cratos, the folder structure you have made is incorrect.  Under Program Files, the folder SHOULD be named NScriptm (NOT scriptm).  TP.exe works fine with this change, but it's hard to tell if TP actually still works after a date change to April '04, since it has no data (loses all with the date change).  I think it is working though because I briefly saw the main buttons and date before it went blank again.  Also, you may have to use the TP.exe to soft reset when using the RELOAD PLUGIN option in the config.exe?  Small price to pay if it all works in a few weeks.

You're right, I have fixed the file. All should be ok now.

Wow, thx CharlyV for the excellent work-around!  I tested the program by setting my date a month ahead, reloading TodatPlus, then running TP.exe.  It worked perfectly!  Only drawback is having to dismiss 100+ reminders each time I run TP ;) .

This is an excellent way to keep TodayPlus alive.  It avoids altering srs's original code.  Good job! :D

Download the zip from this forum and follow the directions there. You shouldnt have to move any files around to any folders. I installed following the instructions, tap in todayplus.exe not of the o error. I change the date for April, I give to one soft reset and when todayplus comes back it does not appear. With me it did not function. :cry:

I find that I am making something made a mistake! I unpacked zip in my PC has 3 folders (they program Files/ Script/ Windows) dragging the 3 folders for the root of ppc goes to ask if I want to change to the existing folder windows for the new... what I made: April the folder Program Files and I took off the NscriptM folder for it program Files of ppc, the folder script I took off the 3 archives and I placed in the root and in the folder windows I copied and I placed in windows, to star menu, programs, the result is: tap in today.exe functions giving one, but not dumb date none and changing the date for April and giving to one softreset todayplus adds does not appear!

It should ask you if you want to overwrite the contents of those directories if the information is the same. For example, this will NOT remove your windows directory and replace it with the one you are dragging to it. It will only add the contents to what is already in your windows directory.

I am not sure what the rest of your post says. I don't understand.

All you have to do is follow the directions by copying the folders to root. Then reset your device using the new program called "TP", which has an icon of the world. It is located in your programs listing.

I moved the three directories to the route of Pocket PC. When I tap on the globe icon in the programs menu I get the following error "Error 2 trying to start"\Program\nScriptM\NscriptM.exe" Any ideas?

Hi all,
To be more precise, I'm trying a step by step guide here. So please feel free to update it as I haven't carried it out yet personally. This is how I understand the process to go from the previous posts. Many thanks to cratos for his input.

If you downloaded the zip (Cratos zip) from this thread, all you have to do is:-

1. Extract the three directories from the zip to your desktop. (They program Files/ Script/ Windows)
2. Turn on Activesync and expore your device,
3. Double-click on "my pocket pc" icon. This will put you at the root directory of your device.
4. Drag the three folders(program Files/ Script/ Windows)  into there.
5. Open your PocketPC and go to Start/Programs. There will be a new program called TP (which has an icon of the world) in your programs listing.
6.  Click to run it and it should ask you if you want to overwrite the contents of those directories if the information is the same
7. Click Yes.
8. It will change your date to 2003
9. Then reset your device using the new program called "TP" (I take it the option will be obvious).
10. Restart your device, then change your date back to today's date from your clock ( Start/Settings – System tab).
That way TodayPlus will think it is 2003 when it gets loaded and that's it. Hopefully! :wink:

Starting from step 5 you are wrong. When you copy the three folders in the root of your device it will ask you if you want to overwrite the windows and program files directories if their contents is the same. Theoretically, it doesnt matter what you say here because nothing should be the same so if you say yes, nothing will be overwritten and if you say no, also nothing will be over written. This is the thing alot of people dont understand, which i dont get because it is the same as windows.

Anyway, after you've copied the three folders, the program is installed. You're done. Now the other thing people dont get is this: The new program called TP maybe should be called RESTART. This program will do three things for  you.
1. set your date to 2003
2. restart your device
3. set your date to 2004

So once you have copied the three folders into the root of your device, you need to restart your device using TP from now on. Any other restart utility will only restart your device and not do the date switching.

Here are the steps I would use:
1. Extract the three directories from the zip to your desktop. ("program Files", "Script", and "Windows")
2. Turn on Activesync and expore your device,
3. Double-click on "my pocket pc" icon. This will put you at the root directory of your device.
4. Drag the three folders (program Files, Script, and Windows) into there. The install is now complete.
5. Uninstall whatever restart utility you were previously using.
6. From now on restart your device with Start->Programs->TP (Unless you make a shortcut to it in say... TodayPlus =)


Here are the steps to TEST to make sure you've installed it correctly:
1. Set your date to sometime in march, 2004.
2. Start ->Settings ->Today ->Items ; Remove the checkmark from TodayPlus, then tap OK.
3. Today ->Items ; Put the check back on TodayPlus, then tap OK.
4. Tap OK/X until you are at the today screen.
5. Notice that your today screen is blank.
6. Start ->Programs ->TP ; Your device will restart.
7. Notice that your today screen is NOT blank.


I hope this clears up any further confusion. The process really is very easy. Just follow the directions.
