TodayPlus Boards v2

Hi.

I've downloaded the latest Hammerskin 1.05.2 QVGA, but when I select and reloade the new skin nothing appears in the Today Screen. If I use the 1.04 it displays perfect, the slider.txt skin works ok too.

I've checked all the settings, but I can't find why it doesn't work, it's configured in a Axim X30 (wifi+BT).

Anybody can tell me a solution?

Have you tried the old Today setting fix?  Just go to:

1) "Settings" -> "Today"
2) Goto "Items" tab
3) Change nothing
4) Close "Today"

That should force a true "Reload" and might clear up your problem.

Yes,  I've installed all the new images and tried several softresets with no luck.

Which OS you have installed ppc2002 or Wm2003?

Can you post a screenshot after you select 1.05.02?  Did you see a complete empty page or only image did not show up?

That is strange.
The Hammerskin 1.04a worked, right?  There is no reason why 1.05 can be loaded.   :think:

Usually, you only need to get out TP when you load a new skin. (like the ones posted by jhollin1138).

The only thing I can suggest you right now (perhpas you done it already) is to deselect TP from the Today Plug-ing menu, do a softreset, then go to configure file, make sure the new skin 1.05.04 is selected, reselect TP from Today Plug-in menu.

I know it's so strange. I tried to change the skin without reloading the plugin and I can see some of the new features but with time it disappears, that's because it starts to refresh the zones.

I'm thinking it's something related to the language, the skin is in english and my Axim X30 with WM2003SE in spanish.

I tested it with two XDAII(WM2003 Spanish) and it doesn't work too.

But, didn't you say 1.04 worked?  Can 1.04 work again?

Do you have some other TodayPlugins installed? If yes, deinstall the other Plugins and try it again

Sorry, I forget to say that the 1.04a it's working perfect, and I have no other Todayplugins installed/running.

That is even strange since 1.04a worked just fine and I really don't think it is the problem of Spainish OS.  Did you change anything in the skin?  If you did, please download the original one then try it or uploaded the one you changed, we can take a look.

If not, this is a "hard way" I would suggest.


1) Make a copy of 1.04a in case something goes wrong, you still have original one.

2) Let's call this 1.04.5, start to compare the two versions and copy/paste the code from 1.05.04 to 1.04.5.  I would suggest to do the the section before the region,2,0 first, becuase there are some initial setting for the skin.  Load 1.04.5 to see it works or not.

3) Next should be region,1,0  then region,2,0.

Step by step, you probably will find where the problem might be.

have you tried out Version 1.05.X with TD+ V0.12. Perhaps one of the variables higher var 29 doesn´t work with TD+ V0.12.

I am running 0.11 and never tested the variable on 0.12.   :think:

That is a good point.  I really don't know how the variables will impact v.12

I've found the url, too. It has to do with Corbut (EDIT: Corbcut), a well known name in the skinners world. (.....)

But I'm so very sorry for us all: it's totally forbidden to use 0.12. Sorry, sorry, sorry, what a pity..... The great, but mysterious mr. SRS gave that version only to a specific little group of beta testers, and they aren't allowed to give it to the public. Isn't it jhollin1138?!? But I seriously hope I'm wrong...

I followed the instructions of uk_skinner and now the skin works, I don't know if it works 100% but now appears.

I attach the skin I'm currently using that works, if someone whants to see the changes... I added a // to the changed lines and copied from 1.04a skin those lines.

I'm still looking for bugs to my skin "conversion".

 Did you command out the "if,var,var25,,=,1" right under the region,1,0?

  That is the code from 1.05.04.  I think you better remove "//" becuase you need that code to make all "buttons" disappeared when you jump to radar page.

If I don't command out that line "if,var,var25,,=,1" all buttons disappear. It's something strange.

I'm still investigating, but I don't know so much about "skinning" in TodayPlus, I'm merging code between 1.04a and 1.05.4.

     Go to the almost top of the skin, you have this:

// initvar,var25,1    //Sat & Radar

    You need to remove the first "//", like this

initvar,var25,1    //Sat & Radar


   Then remove the command "//" out from "//if,var,var25,,=,1"

Since you did not "initvar" var25=1, so you don't see the buttons.  I hope this is clear.  


I saw you commentted a lot of codes out, your skin will not work properly.  Especially the codes above region,2,o are very important since TP will set up the parameters when the skin is loaded.  

If you want to find the bug, I would suggest you this way:

1)  Try to load hammerskin 1.05.04 again, to see it will work.

2) If not, then let's comment out the "initvar" one-by-one.  

3) Comment out the var that you did not see in 1.04 first.  

4) Load the skin to see where the problems might be.

5) As Witchtel indicated that the new var might be the issue.

Since you did not see the skin loaded at all, I would suspect something happened when TP tried to set these var.

I'll try it later, because now I can't.

I'll follow all the instructions to try to find the bug.

I think I have found the problem. If I comment out the line "initvar,var51,1   //Sat & Radar Albumansicht" the skin loads perfect, but I cannot use the option "Satellite & Radar" on the Weather page because the screen stays without nothing and I have to reload the plugin, if I use the radar icon it works ok.

One more thing, how can I make by default which weather Icons appears, because the plugin changes it whenever it wants, but this is the less important thing now.

Good, so var51 is a bad var for you.  I can try to find a var for you.  Could you upload the skin here, the one you comment out "initvar,var51,1   //Sat & Radar Albumansicht" and I will try to find a var for you.

The weather icon should only change when you tap "Change Icons" uner the "Menu" in weather page.  I can take a look when you upload your skin here.

I can answer this one. Look for the following line

"initvar,var10,2   //Wetter Icon Change"

The number 2 above corresponds with the icons set below that is a set of  "if,else,endif".  Just change the "2" above to match the icons you like.
For example: I like the weather.com icons. So I found the following

"if,var,var10,,=,2
   options,weathericondir,Weather Icons\weather.com,png
else
endif
"

 Try this.

  I changed all var51 to var2.  var 2 used in RSS section.  Since the RSS section is not activated when you are at radar section, so it is ok to use it. Whenever you jump out from radar section, the var2 will be resetted to 1.   I tried this "trick" before.

 For your information, I added comement "var51-->var2" to where I did the change.

 Let me know if you encounter any problem.

You're right, I'm in Spain. By now I tried to use the USA url supplied with the original radar.txt and works, but if you know any url for spain it will be great, because I don't know which use.

  Again, I would suggest to look your local TV or newspaper website and post link here.  A lot of users here can figure out what the url for you, especially when it is dynamic ones.
