I have noticed that 'sometimes' the weather and RSS info will update when the PDA is in the cradle, but sometimes it won't update at all. I have tried everything from clearing the buffer, making sure the base path is correct, taking it out of the today screen (unchecking it) and running the actual program outside of the today screen, soft resets etc and can't figure out why the weather and RSS will not update. I have even tried disabling Norton Internet Security to see if that's what was stopping it from updating. Nothing seems to work.... no weather data and no RSS. This has happened a few times now, and once, I ran the program outside of the today screen it worked and picked up the data... but that wouldn't even work this time. Anyone know soem reasons why this happens?? All of my RSS links (only 4) and my city (just one... Halifax Canada) are in there and correct. I'm stumped....

My understanding is the information will be refreshed if 1) you carry out a "sync" (for instance click the "sync" at PC side or you have set up a sync when your device connected, such as Mobile Favorites) and 2) the last refresh has to be longer than 60 min (or the time you set).

Well what was happening was that my last update that it 'took' was last night at 03:40 in the morning. I didnt have the PDA in the cradle since then. I just put it in at supper time this evening.... well over 12 hours since the last sync. It did not refresh the info in weather or rss. They stayed the same as they were from 03:40. I tried syncing several times, then got fed up and cleared the buffer. So now with the buffer empty, the last sync shouldnt matter time wise (since the buffer fodler was wiped completely) then it wouldn't even update with a fresh clean buffer folder.
The ONLY way that it updated... and I don't understand why.... but I went to 'explore' the PDA to do something else... exploring through XP, it triggered it to download the weather and rss data.... strange!
Yeah, That's strange indeed. But then again, it's still Microsoft! My favorite quote:

As you can see, TP is in notification quene. If you look at the bottom window, you will see "Program......./TodayPlus.exe" and "AppRunAfterSync" (NOTIFICATION_EVENT_SYNC_END). So supposedly, TP should do the job when the ActiveSync finish. But read this statement from Micorsoft Page:
"Note The NOTIFICATION_EVENT_SYNC_END event is only triggered after a manual sync. For example, the NOTIFICATION_EVENT_SYNC_END event is only triggered if the user clicks the Sync button in ActiveSync on the desktop. If the mobile device syncs automatically when it is connected to the PC, this event is not triggered at the end of the sync."
So just like guys said it is Microsoft ActiveSync's problem. The code is there for developer to use but it is not totally functional.
If your device is in the cradle the "refresh" will not happen. However, if you make a change in your calendar in PC then it will trigger the "refreshing" and download the updated information if the last sync was more than one hour ago.
Yup that seems to be it!! Good old Microsoft!!! haha So I know if I want my updated weather all I need to do is a manual sync.
