Title: Help moving TP to SD card
Post by: pcweenie on February 08, 2005, 12:58:56 PM
Hi - I've never been able to get this to work.  Can someone walk me through the steps in moving TP to the SD card?  I know how to set the base path, but I think I forgot to hit the reload button after that.  Also, which files can be moved - all of them, or only some?
I know I'll have to edit the skin file (Uniskin 1.01) and some of the others, too.  I'd appreciate any help I can get on this.  Thanks.

Just beware that once you do get this moved, depending on the speed of your SD card, it may not load after a soft reset.  It seems to load slower when not in the Main Memory.  I tried it recently with my skin and all I got was a blank screen.  I found out that I needed to do a refresh.  I ended up moving everything back to the main memory.  :-(  But it works fine now.

Now to move it.  You can move everything but a copy of TP and the TP.dll file.  It's that simple.  REALLY!

Hi pcweenie,

You need to make a folder on the SD card called "TodayPlus"..  You can then move all other folders into it..  The TodayPlus.exe, and TodayPlus.dll, need to remain in the TodayPlus folder in main memory..

Thanks Geezer...  This is correct..  Some SD cards are slow, and sometimes the images will not load until after a screen refresh...  I haven't had much of a problem !!

Try this and see how it works !!   Don't forget to change the paths in the skin !!!   8)

Hi Zapme,

I have installed TP but moved all the image folder to the SD. My exe , dll and config files are in the main memory. However, as I check , I notice my Forcast.txt is in the SD as well. can I just move the forcast file back to the main memory>???

Thank you  :)

Hi again,

I tried to move the forecast file to memory. TP end up saying unknow weather code. So i think for my case, I need to leave my forecast in the SD folder.

Title: One small problem...
Post by: pcweenie on February 09, 2005, 04:11:56 PM
Ok, I moved things to the SD card, changed the path in the skin and imv files, radar txt, etc.  So far almost everything works ok, even after a reset.  The only thing I'm having a problem with is the System Info page (uniskin).  Any button I select, I get the shortcut target error message:

error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename.

I've looked at the skin, in the system info section - I can't find anything in there that I should change.  Help!

Did you check the shortcut in configure, apps8?

Well, I guess then that the problem was that I never created an apps8 shortcut folder!  Don't ask me how those shortcuts used to work, but they did.  Anyway, I moved the app8 folder back into the program files and now they work again.  Thanks for the help. Dori
