Title: command question
Post by: yasmeene on March 09, 2005, 05:41:37 PM
is there a command that refresh, or reload all plugin (or region)?

I try to make my skin availible to be in both orientation (landscape and normal), but when I reload plugin in normal view and switch to landscape all of lanscape icons doesnt appear. When I reload in landscape and switch to normal (and back) everything is ok..

edit: Btw hi to all members

Hi Yasmeene,

First of all, Welcome to the TP forum !!  :D
With all of the talent here at the forum, we should be able to work out your problems..

First question is, what skin are you using ??  Some of (or most) of the regions in the skins are set up with an "auto-refresh" for that region..  Depending on the skin that you are using, you need to check the region that displays when TP is loaded, and see if there is an auto-refresh setup for that region !  If this is set to "-1", then it can be part of the problem, but not enough info yet to tell..

Second question, are you running TP from main memory, or from a storage card ??  Some storage cards are slower then others, and may not fully load TP when softreset...

Lets start with these, and check back here...  Please provide more details if you can !!!

Ok, I use very own modification of lightman HandyPlus skin (thx man), that show just calendar, my idea is that maximalized agenda will be used for portret view and mimalized for landscape. I tryed to set whoole region on 320x240 size,  Soo here it is:

maxheight,85
height,85

initregion,3,0 // ON POWERON DISPLAY AGENDA

initvar,var18,85        // AGENDA - DEFINE HEIGHT FOR AGENDA SECTION

Your region,3,0 - has a 6minute refresh time, and in region3,1 - the refresh is at -1 (disabled)...

You could try giving each region a short refresh time, (maybe 30) and see if this helps the problem !!

Region 3,1 is refreshed by Region 3,0 with the updateregions command.  :wink:

The defregion in the maximized and minimized for region 3,0
are the same ?

var18 is set to 85 so the defregion defines a hight of 85
the offsetadd for that minimized region is 0,15
should not be the defregion for minimized be set to a height of 15 ?

defregion,3,0,0,320,%var18%,2
.
.
.
offsetadd,0,15

Only a thought ....

Thanx all for helping me! But sadly I must say, that changing of refresh deelay didnt help me.. I ve attached some screenshots first is how it should look - this works only if I reload plugin in landscape. Second is what happen if I reload plugin from portrait and switch to landscape. It is not seen good, but on second image there is a line, where portrait mod ends(highlited).

Sorry, I don't have a device that can switch between landscape and portrait,
but if you switch to portrait, does the device display on positions, that
are over 240 (Max width of QVGA-Device) ?. I assume, the range is
outside that width and therefore you won't get a pic at that position ???

//==========================================
// REGION 3, PAGE 1 - AGENDA  (MINIMIZED)
//==========================================
region,3,1,-1
  defregion,3,0,0,240,%var18%,2
  offset,offset_-1,offset_-1
  color,font,-1_4_-1
  updateregions,3
  if,refresh
     color,font,125_125_125
  else
     color,font,-1_4_-1
  endif
  imagebutton,210,2,arrow_down.png,t,3,4,0,-1       // GO TO PAGE 0 (MAXIMIZE)
  imagebutton,2,1,calendar.png,t,,0,%apps-1-11,      // LAUNCH CALENDAR AT 11th POSITION
  changefont,Tahoma,11,b
  text,170,1,xXx,cs
  changefont,Tahoma,11
offsetadd,0,15
endregion,3,1

The red changes would be my try to look, if the button displays in
portrait-mode.

No, in portrait it doesnt display positions that are outside the portrait range. But it doesnt mind me, I just want to display them in landscape.

If I make your "red" changes, it appear, but in lanscape in the middle of screen.

Well, don't really know, what you want to reach with your commands ?

Do I understand that right, that you want to automatically switch to
minimized when loading landscape mode and switch back to maximized,
when loading portrait-mode ? If so, I think that is not possible, because
TodayPlus does not recognize, if it is loaded in portrait/landscape-mode.

Sorry, no other idea .....

No, no, no. I use agenda in portrait maximalized. And when I switch to landscape and manually minimize agenda I want region to goes long (320). Thats all. I use minimalized agenda just for landscape (I dont mind if the maximalize button will not show in portrait mode)

Clear?

O.K. so I understood that wrong :oops:

Maybe you can try another thing:
When reloading the skin, it allways start maximized (initregion,3,0)

The defregion-command is used twice, in my opinion that does not
work, because it is only executed once, when loading the region.
Eventually it works with the defregion-override-command, wich lets
you redefine a region ?

Example:

//==========================================
// REGION 3, PAGE 1 - AGENDA  (MINIMIZED)
//==========================================
region,3,1,-1
  defregion-override,3,0,0,320,%var18%,2
.
.
.
endregion,3,1

Edit: Maybe one of the mods can move this topic to "help and support" ?

It wont help anyway.. but forget about it, it was just a vision :o) I moved icons to the left, so they appear in LS too. Only region is still short.. but nevermind. Thanx a lot for support.

Even, if it didn't help much, we allways try to help in this forum, but if
we don't have the device to test, it is a little bit difficult.

Thanks for the feedback
