Title: Date Issues & Sunrise/Sunset
Post by: MJ on June 16, 2005, 01:45:13 PM
Hello All,

I am hoping someone can lend some insight into resolving two problems I am having.  I am fairly new to TodayPlus so I am hopeful that it is just a novice user situation.

I am running v 11 and also have HammerSkin.  The problems occur if I am using either the default or hammer skin.

Problem One:
I have very bizarre things happening with my calendar/agenda.  My current view first shows Tomorrow with an all day event I have.  Then it shows today with an appointment for this afternoon and an all day event for today.  Then it shows tomorrows date but for next year and under that a second all day event I have for tomorrow (note that it is a annual recurring all day event).  Then it shows tomorrows date again with an appointment I have.

I am trying to understand why it did not just show today first and the appropriate appointments and events.  Then show tomorrow with the appropriate events and appointments instead of breaking it up into 4 sections.  I noticed that all annual recurring all day events such as birthdays seem to have this problem of showing the right date, but next year.

Problem Two:
Sunrise/Sunset, I have two cities in my weather setup, Santiago Chile and Atlanta GA.  The sunrise/sunset information shows the same for both and is completely incorrect.  It shows a rise at about 2 am and a set at about 2 pm.

Not sure if these are just setting issues, bugs, or gremlins, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi, and welcome ....

don't have a clue, what causes your problem one
How did you set up your poom-filters ?

Problem two:
You have to enter the values for lat / lon in the config.exe for your
first city. You can find the values at http://www.heavens-above.com/. Put the values in the boxes
and if you have done this, tap in another field on the page (there is a bug
on that part of the program, so it won't save the values, if you do not do
that). For a second or more cities, the only way to get the values for lat / lon
into the program is editing the registry with a registry-editor. Take a look
at this thread, to see, how it works: http://forums.jhollin1138.com/viewtopic.php?t=1687&highlight=lat

Hope, that helps

Title: Update

Broesel, thanks for the suggestion on the sunrise/sunset.  It worked part way.  The sunrise and sunset times are now there for my second city, but it shows a negative time in the length, it thoughts on solving that?

Regarding the first issue I seem to have found two things that trigger the problem.   On the recurrance it needs to be set to 'no end date', I had them at 100 years.  That solves the problem for annually recurring all day events.  For just regular all day events, they need to be set to tentative or busy.  This one is a bit more annoying in that sometimes I put events in related to other family members, but don't want it to show me as unavailable.  Oh well, if that is the worst thing...

If you have put the lat/lon values correct, the sunrise/sunset should show
right for your first city, so I assume, there went anything wrong.

It is possible, that you get negative values for the daylength (a bug that
only is for some locations. See this thread: http://forums.jhollin1138.com/viewtopic.php?t=1874
but please check, if the values are stored correctly in the registry first.
