Doesn't answer your question, but how about just quitting today?  Then you wouldn't need a countdown clock.

You are absolutely right, but this question is not just meant for quit smoking, but I want to use it for different countdown items.

Countdown screen is already available in default skin. All you need to do is define a category named countdown and assign items to this category to list in countdown screen.

Just create a task titled "Quit Smoking" with a Due Date of 1/1/04.  As Itanium mentioned, the default slider skin has a Countdown filter.  I believe that if a Countdown category is not defined in Pocket Outlook then the countdown filter shows coundown info for all appointments/tasks. So no need to define a category "Countdown" and assign appointments and taks to it unless you want to limit the number of items that are displayed.

Thx, I know that filter, but I just wanted that one liner.
