Title: Brightness not working in 0.10.2 skin
Post by: rfrench on December 13, 2003, 11:54:47 PM
Hey all
I'm enjoying Today+ and have a few nights to tweak the settings (got My SD Card reading, RSS Feeds set, droped quick start tabs from opening window and 3 weather reports). Now what is troubling me is what to do with the backlight in the System Information section (region 9 page 0) as is just a little graphic with dashes above. I uncommented several lines below the graphic entry that seemed to be calculations and graphic selection, but always get -1 and no bar change when I adjust the brightness and cause the program to reload (start/settings/system/items/OK). Any ideas or pointers or if nothing else can I just comment out the rest of the entries and just have a blank spot.
Thanks

It works for me with an iPaq 5450. Look at the code in my MvR skin.

I also remember reading somewhere that it was designed with an iPaq 3900 in mind, as it only has 4 settings. Which is pretty dark on the 5400 which has about 60 settings I think. So it may not work at all with other PPC's.

Cheers
Mark

At this time, I do not believe the brightness feature is fully supported (as of version 0.10.2) because of the differences in brightness levels across PDA's.  srs may be implementing a command to detect the PDA type in the future so that the brightness command will work correctly.

I tried it w/ my 2215.  It works but the max brightness parameter for button command is 4, which is too dark for my machine.   Anyone knows a way to bypass this limitation and let me set something like 60?

Thanks.
