Title: RSS Caching
Post by: PDA_Guy on December 15, 2003, 07:04:21 PM
From what I can gather, it appears that RSS pages must be cached to be viewed.  I sync with a Wi-Fi connection, and I would like to be able to view live RSS pages rather than have them cached.  Is there a way to do this?

Actually, what I would really like is a setting for each link that would allow the link to be cached or used as a live link.

I use the PocketFeed RSS viewer and it caches the descriptions, but it never caches the pages; you always have to connect to them live.  More control over this would be great.

TodayPlus has the ability to view RSS feeds online and offline (caching).  The default skin, slider.txt (0.10.2), has a button in the upper left hand corner of the RSS feed window (the "O" icon)  for toggling between these two modes.  Clicking on the icon will change the icon to a circle with a diagonal (and icon it be red) which I believe is the online mode.  Clicking on it again will put it back into offline mode.

For skinners, this is done with the button command using actions 30 and 31.
