Title: Wheater delay on V0.10.2
Post by: fedleo on December 17, 2003, 01:13:54 PM
Don't know if anyone had notice this before but...
I have a strange problem with the meteo: there's an obvious delay between the real date showed on the top of T+ and the first day of wheater. If the date says Tuesday, sometimes  when I look at the wheater icons I can see Monday for the first icon, Tuesday for the second and so on.  In the morning I still see the night icon.... If the first icon is for the current day...  :?
So I have about 3-4 hours delay. I'm in Italy.
Any help?

Today is Sunday the 21th December... right?
I think the pic that follow can explain better my problem...

If the first icon to the left is for the current day why the second display "SUN" on the top?  :?:

Now in Italy the time is 17.14.

I see what you mean, my home icon shows sunny, today is Sunday, and the next icon is Sunday and shows partly cloudy.

I put a request in as a Bug report. My home icon shows Sunny, and the one next to it (Sunday) shows partialy cloudy.  The conditions now should be the same unless it is the conditions at the minute.

Here is a response, which is like I had said:

No. The most left icon indicates current conditions.
Icon to the right of most left icon indicates forecast for the same day.
They could be different by the way.

Thanks for your help joelw135 but I don't think so, look to the following image. If what they say it's true,  why the second icon now shows Monday on the top??

Please post it in the bugs section.  I already started a link.

This is not a bug. When the box is around the icon it represents the weather at the moment you updated. The next icon shows you the projected forcast for the day. Example: When you update it might be sunny, so that will  be shown in the first icon, but the forcast for today is rain. So the next icon will show rain. Now, after an hour or so has passed and before you update again the first weather icon will become the projected forcast for the day. The next icon will become the next day and so on. Does this help?

Look at his first post it refers to seeing the night icon when it is day. That is the only problem.

That is a problem with MSNBC calling certain icons. For some reason they use some of the icons for both. I have been trying to create a more accurate weather icon set but MSNBC will call for a day icon for both day and night and vice versa. Also, for the international members, MSNBC seems to have a problem with updating the weather with  your time in consideration. The are usually behind by a few hours. At least, that seems to be the consensus in other posts at these forums.

The display will show the current conditions for the last connection to the internet, so if you rlast sync with the internet was at night, then the next morning it will still show the current weather conditions for that time.  After a certian period of time, either several hours, or 24 hours (defined by the skin), the day forcast will shift into the current forcast slot if no sync has been performed (this maybe similar to what blazingwolf said).

This may be what is happening.[/quote]
