Hi,
I have just tried out Version 0.11.0 and made it work after some initial difficulties. I really like the new features and think the config-application will be some help for newbies.
So far I have not found another way to integrate my old config-settings but to enter them in the config-app. Did I miss something? How will this be in future release updates? It ist ok to do this once but it would be uncomfortable if it had to be done after each update. Maybe it would be a nice idea to save these settings in an editable file.
I couldn't even get it to show up on the today screen. It installed but wouldn't load. Any ideas how to get it loaded. I have the compact net framework on the PPC.
When I installed the .net framework on the PC it automatically installed some DLLs on my ppc. After that I could start the config.exe. It is just that I had to enter all my settings again before TP showed anything.
What about your skin file were you able to use that? I had the net frame work on my PPC before the Today+ install, but didn't see a thing on the screen. Do you have to edit the config just to see today+?

Yes. You need to tell it what skin to use. you will also need to set up all weather and any other info that you use.
I got it to load and show the slider skin although I'm still having problems with another skin. Make sure you select the skin(DLL) on the first screen. After a fresh install there was no skin selected on my machine. After selecting the skin it worked for me. And, yes, I had to retype all the configuration settings to get it to work. No way to cut and paste that I could figure out.

What do you have to use for the waether ? Do i use the city name or the weather.com code ?
@Yogiman
You cannot enter cities or citycodes for weather forecasts directly. You need an internet connection with the ppc. the tp-config.exe will then search for the correct city-code after you have entered a cityname.
city name worked for me
Zipcode also works.
I found that now, the city search will work by typing the city name, the zip code or the actual city code. Much better now IMO, since there's no need to go to weather.com to look for the city code. :cool2:
You can cut and paste with the keyboard. CTRL-c, CTRL-v, and CTRL-x.
When i type a city name i get the following error:
Exception:System.Net.Webexception:Source-Assembly could not be found.
I can connect to the internet, without a problem.

Did you click on the "Search" button? I believe this button will not work correctly (and give you an error) until you install the latest .NET Compact Framework, which now at 1.0 SP2. I have not upgraded yet and get this same error, so I am just assuming that this will fix it.
As stated by srs "with this fix [.NET SP2] - Fixed erroneous parsing of HttpWebRequest response stream. this should make the config programs weather lookup much more reliable"

First i've installed the .NET SP2 after that TD+.... numerous times. Uninstalled everything, installed it again, but no luck. :(
Stupid question but hey, it may be the case.
Are you behind a proxy?

There are no stupid questions :)
I was behind the company Firewall, that was the problem. At home i have no problem :)
Thanks, for the tip Eitel.
The process would have been easier if Copy and paste would work. I had no luck. But all done, had a few crashes durying config mods.
