Ok, here's my problem –
I've followed SRS's TodayPlus thread on BH since day 1.  In fact, it slowly replaced everything on my Today screen except the battery monitor (it doesn't return my Ipaq info correctly).  When the program got up to version .8, I cut & pasted sections from other skins to get exactly the formation I wanted. This was great.
But now, with version .9xx, this is no longer possible for me.  I've tried reading the skin references and tips from the 'skinners' out there, but I can't seem to get the hang of it.  I think my problem started when the default skins started to have collapsible regions.  I would just leave it alone and run v.8, but I like the shadowed text and the quicker refresh options of the newer program.  I also run PI, so it would be great to have TodayPlus tie into that.

That said, can anyone tell me how to have a 3-section display, with only one of the regions changeable?  I mean, I want my launcher to be always on top, with 2 pages, my owner info always in the middle, and then a changeable region for weather, poom and rss.  I have tried re-working the current skins, but everything gets screwy and regions just disappear completely until I do a soft reset.   Please help - just tell me what I need to change or add to get the skin the way I want.   And, for the record, whether my problem gets solved or not, thanks to all of you that have been making skins and icon sets and all the rest to go with this program (and of course, SRS).   I've seen some ppc software change in response to their customer requests, but there's never been anything like this.

post what you got so far and I will see if I fix it.

the most likely problems are the defregions, and setting the offsets correctly.

Oh, you're too good to me...Just promise you won't laugh when you see it.  I've sort of cut & pasted bits and pieces to alter a skin that worked on version 8.  If you can show me the error of my ways, I'd be very grateful.

BTW - are you the same SRS that made the anagrams game for .Net?  If you are, I have to tell you I really like that one, too.  I hope you find some time to update that as well (and still leave time for school work - as a Mom, I have to say that...)  If it's not you, just ignore this.
Thanks again. Dori

srs

yep, the same srs :)  actually I was going to add a bunch of other word games too, but started doing something else instead  :)

anyways I fixed your skin some.  there is still a lot of tweaking need, but this should start you in the right direction

let me know if you need any more help

I'll try this with 9.3 and let you know how it works.  You say it still needs tweaking - I'll see if I can figure out where.

Of course, now you've gone and released v. 9.5!  I hope this will work with the new version (after you re-post it).  Thanks again for all your help.

I'm pleasantly surprised to find out you ARE the same programmer for the anagram game.  So, you have many talents.  I'm glad you are concentrating on perfecting this piece of software, though.  It's the most useful one I've found.  Keep up the good work. Dori
