rss feeds dissapear

Often times when I get to my office and sync my PDA, the rss feeds will refresh and update, however subsequent refreshes will occur and the rss feed will dissapear for either one or more often multiple rss feeds.  They will just be blank.  If I clear the buffer and then force it to update, sometimes the feeds will update and there will be news items, other times they will remain blank/empty.  

Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so how do you resolve it?

To me this seems like because of slow net connection. May be the connection is timing out while fetching data from certain resources. Can you be sure that is not an issue?

Well, I know we have a pretty fat pipe to the Internet, and I get worst case scenario 571kbs.  That should be plenty.  We aren't using a proxy server but we do have a firewall.
