Hi All

Can someone tell me how I can edit the config data  other than in the config.exe. I am trying to avoid typing those long lines using the small ppc keyboard. Ideally I would  like to be able to edit
it on my pc and then transfer it back to my pocketpc

Thanks for any and all replies.

Hi Bubba

You're right - in the "old" days (pre-TP11) you could transfer config.txt to your PC, edit it there, and transfer it back onto the PPC. In fact, that's still how I work with my skin files.....

Anyway, I don't think you can easily edit the config data on your PC, then transfer it to the iPaq. However, there are ways to enter data directly into the PPC much more easily than using the PPC keyboard (which is really what you want, I think)..... I can think of at least two ways to do it.

1. Buy a folding HP iPaq keyboard - unfolds to almost full-size, easy to use (the iPaq plugs onto the top of the board). Costs a bit, though (about $100 if I recall correctly). I have one, but rarely use it, because.....

2. Buy a product named Pocket Controller (www.soti.net). When you cradle the iPaq, the software automatically recognises it, and the iPaq appears on your regular monitor - and you can mouse-click on it, use your regular keyboard to enter text, and so on.... great product, i use it ALL the time. I attach a screen shot below, showing my iPaq on my computer screen. You'll see my TP launcher. The 8th icon from the left (blue T, red Plus) is a shortcut to TP config. If I click on that icon, it opens config - I attach a screen for that, too. Again, I can use the mouse to do stuff, or type directly using my regular PC keyboard.......terrific  :D !!

All the best.................Scotty

Thanks, I download the program and seems to work pretty well. Just like Remote Desktop/PC Anywhere.

BTW, where did you find the skin you are using?

Thanks.

It's an amalgam of pieces copied from various skins made by Lordtwisted, Blazingwolf, and others......
