Does anybody have a clue form where does TodayPlus gets its weather data?

The weather data comes from MSNBC.com which gets it from the weather channel.

But how does it get it from MSN or Weather channel? Is there a place where you can download raw weather data for use in your own apps?

The web address used to retrieve the data is:

http://www.msnbc.com/m/chnk/d/weather_d_src.asp?acid=XXXXX

where XXXXX is the zipcode of the location to retrieve weather information.

The html page can be parsed to retrieve the data for each element.

It would be nice if we could get it directly from Weather Channel, since MSNBC is down atleast twice a week. Well we discused this before! Talking to myself again.

I believe that I read a post from srs that they are calculated inside TodayPlus.  I will try and find the post.

Edit: Check out this thread.
