I just installed TP but I couldn't get any sort of preference screen to set it up. It looks pretty cool and I'd like to try it out. Can anyone help...

There isn't a setup screen. all preferences are done by basic modifications to the config file and the skin file.  You can change the city you are in for the time zone and weather.  There are add-on launchers, and there are member created skins that mite suit you.  All you would probably have to do is change the time and city information, and possibly some links to applications you use.  Check out the help section on the forum or ask questions.  You don't have to be a programmer to change the basic things.
