Installing TodayPlus without .NET Compact Framework

I understand I need to run config.exe to configure TodayPlus on my PDA.
config.exe needs .NET Compact Framework only to write a register entry.

Is it possible to modify the register manually? Can you tell us the details?

This way I do not need to load the .NET Compact Framework. This saves me a couple of MB in my main memory of the PDA.

I am using a HP iPAQ 2210 with WM2003.
I understand WM2003 already contains the .NET Compact Framework in ROM?
So I do not need to load Microsoft .NET Framework SP2?

Marc, that's quite correc, WM 2003 has .NET already included in the program.

This is true...as I have 0.11 running without the separate .NET application installed.

Manner of fact I have 2003 and I installed net, then removed it and TP+ runs fine.

So that only proves that 2003 already has it installed.

I'm running the same IPAQ model and haven't bothered installed SP2 and it doesn't seem to cause a problem.

I believe that most Windows Mobile 2003 PPCs have .NET 1.0 SP1 installed in Flash memory with the OS, so the config appliction will work without installing .NET 1.0 SP2.  However, as srs pointed out, SP2 appears to fix, among other things, a problem with internet connections/downloading, which would affect the city search for the weather settings (of course it also apperantly introduces a bug where cut & paste does not work).

So, in my opinion, if you are not having any other problems with the config app, then there is probably no reason to upgrade to SP2 at this time, unless the TodayPlus application itself would benefit from .NET SP2.
