I was wondering, besides the ones in the config.txt (BBC/Yahoo/TD+/PCThoughts) which nice rss url's everbody is using?

(Also the dutch ones  :) )

Thnx

arbitrajeu

I use PDACorps.com feed for my PocketPC information, as they don't have the CDATA tags that PocketPCThoughts.com use.  I'm still having dialogue with PPC Thoughts on this subject.

I noticed the same tags with a Dutch site: portal.omroep.nl.

Is this something what srs can take care off?

Hi Lordtwisted:

I tried the Yahoo World rss a few weeks back, but it didn't work for me.  :(

When I saw your post above, I copied / pasted the code you gave into my config.txt file, copied it to my PPC, cleared the TP+ buffer, and (just in case it was needed) I "reset" TP+ (via today / items). Then I did a refresh, TP+ updated everything just fine, and the Yahoo World headlines showed up. So fr, so good. BUT when I clicked on the zoom (to read the detail behind the headline) I got the Yahoo "document not found" page. This is exactly what happened a few weeks back (so obviously I stopped using that feed). I don't have this problem with 8 other rss feeds (BBC, Newsisfree, etc.), on all of which clicking on the zoom will bring up the detail page...... Can you give me any idea why your feed to Yahoo World works, but not mine? Do I need an account there, or something weird?

Thanks  :D............Scotty

Lordtwisted

Scotty,
thats weird, i do have an account but i don't think that would matter, let me look into to this.

Oh dear, the feeds I posted above (for movie reviews, soccer, & sports) all were working just fine when I posted them......you could "drill down" to get the full stories under the headlines.

Sadly, since yesterday, only the headlines are updating - when you try to drill down, you get a page saying "Headline functionality has been disabled from your intranet".  :(

My guess is that the providers (moreover.com, and newsisfree, both commerical operations so far as I know) have been inundated with requests for feeds, and so have shut them out.

Sorry.......Scotty

Scotty

Quick follow-up.

Well, the newsisfree site I mentioned above just worked again when I refreshed, but the moreover.com sites still refuse to give me details.....

Anyway, here's a link to the NewsIsFree master list of rss sites....

I'm suprised no one has mentioned Slashdot (/.) yet. "News for nerds, stuff that matters". No joke, they actually have some good articles there.
