It's just the time since the last reset that your Pocket PC has spent turned on.  

The other option is only of limited value as most people can work out that if they reset at 11.00 and it's now 14.00, that's been 3 hours...

Thanks, that explains a lot.  I am now tweaking the skin, and changing test colors.
