How to set second region to newsfeed, set up apps...

I'm a newb and have tried trolling for answers.  I would be grateful for your help.  How do you:

1. Set up the second region to display newsfeed.  Mine are set up 1. Weather, 2. Agenda, 3. apps.  I want 1.weather 2.news 3.agenda 4.apps.

2. I have been able to customize the apps in the app bar only when I use the .exe file.  I have many apps installed in Built-in Storage and I have been unsuccessful to having those apps show up in the app bar?  What to do?

3. I have been unable to get the storage card to show used space on my SD card.  I don't use CF.  

4. How do I change the picture on the start up?  I'm not familiar with .png?

OK. I figured out how to add apps in storage on the app bar and I also figured out the storage card problem.  Will someone help address setting the newsfeed permanently in the second region. It has something to do with initregion, but I don't understand how the variable works.
