I have the tabs higher then normal right now so i don't interfer with my shortcuts on the bottom but once it is running I am going to slide it down to replace the shortcuts on the bottom.

Where in the skin can I adjust how often it updates.  It appears to update about every 30 seconds, and I would like to adjust it to update less often.

Hi brewabel,

Update of the regions is defined by the region-command.

For the Main-section look for:

region,2,0,20

The 20 means region 2 is updated every 20 seconds, so you can change
it to what you like.

First, I coundn't see the rss news

Take a look at your buffer-folder, are there files like rss1.txt, rss2.txt ... .. ?

If not, there is a problem with downloading the feeds.

Second, if I don't want to see the "NEWS TICKET " in the first page,
and I want to see the "AGENDA" to show more than 2 days events,
how will I to modify the "Hammerskin1.05.6 QVGA Eng.txt" ?

Welcome to TP forum.

1)  There has been reported that some RSS site from Taiwan can not be displayed within TP.  At this moment, no solid solution yet.  I do suggest you try any feed from http://news.yahoo.com/rss.  If it display ok, then probably something is not compatible with TP and your rss site.

2) Ok, broesel just answer that question.

welcome aboard.  It's appears you're looking to do a few of the mods I've done, so let me see if I can step you through it.

You'll have to search for and comment out the following code:

   //=======================================
   // Heading for News (RSS) Ticker
   //=======================================

   image,4,187,headline.png
   color,font,0_0_0
   text,5,187,NEWS TICKER,l
   color,font,-1_4_-1

As well as everything after the header titled:

REGION 6 NEWS TICKER MAINPAGE   REGION 4,3-4,6

This is a pretty long section.  First start by just commenting out the sections above (i.e. putting a "//" in front of each line will do that).  Once you verify you haven't commented out to much or too little you can go back and delete it to save on size of file.


To extend the agenda, here are the settings I changed:

Changes are in red:

region,5,0,-1
   defregion,5,0,126,209,125,1

And also changed:

   outlook,4,126,203,125,0,0,228,,,5
   button,4,126,12,64,-1,24,nohighlight,5
   changefont,tahoma,12


This will remove the News Ticker header as well as the News feeds and extend your agenda down to just above the shortcut bar.

associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

The page or channel you requested has been removed. myRSS has a policy of expiring unused channels after 14 days of inactivity

maybe this is the reason ? Please try, what uk_skinner said and test
with another rss-feed
