Attached is a new version of the combined moon_phases.png that can be used with the imagemeter function to display a moon icon with the phase determined by the return value from moonphase.

These icons are all new ones that I worked up from high res photos that NASA provided from the clementine satellite.  Granted that scaling them down to a 25X25 pixel image steals away detail, but they still look very nice.

Just copy this file to the folder on your PPC where the old moon_phases.PNG resided and on the next refresh, you moon phase will use the new image.

BTW, If SRS will enhance moonphase to allow either the classic phase (0-7) or the actual lunar day (0-28.5), I have shots for each day of the lunar month and I will assemble them into a new combined file.  I have requested this enhancement in the New Feature forum.

I loaded it into the base ROM code when I cooked my last WM2003 for my PPC.  You can get it as a seperate application as a free download from
http://home.comcast.net/~jonsachs/.  It is really a neat program.

Maybe it's a bit off-topic but it seems that the "solar system thing" is very important in the new skins.
There is a wonderful program that is very very complete.
I posted it in the Off-Topic area, but I thought it might be useful for a couple of you guys

Looks very nice, but one little detail: The pink color you use for transperancy isn''t the same pink on the edges. When u use it in a skin there is a little pink color on the edges of the moon.

Other then that the moons are very nice. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, I just caught the problem with the pink halo.  I think I know what happened.  The images have "soft" edges and when I brought them onto the pink background the soft edge modified the pink every so slightly.  I will correct and repost.

Sorry, I checked it using a lighter background and the pink halo did not showup, but when I changed to a darker background, it was readily apparent.

 verry nice really like the pic's, Use a alpha chanel instead of transperancy, Thats the trick with .png full transperances, shadows, ect.

Okay, I am curious.  On your individual moon phases, you created them on a transparent background, then using the image statement, selected the "t" option.  That worked perfectly.

Now I am wanting to avoid that whole color replacement mess (ie the pink background).  I am using JASC PaintShopPro v8.  When I open one of your moon images, PSP8 shows it to be on a transparent background.  So I create a new image with a transparent background and then move my images into it.  But when I try to display the image I just created in T+ using the image statement with the "t" option, I get a WHITE box containing my image.  Share you wisdom as to what I might be doing wrong.  My goal is to use the "t" option on the imagemeter statement to have the appropriate moonphase (which is on a transparent background) to display.

No i didn't use transperant, i used a alpha chanel and for shadows i use a mask. The t dosen't even need to be there. If you use a alpa chanel you will not get the pink, only whats in th alpha chanel.


And i to use paintshop, I do 90% of my graphics with it, i love it.

 Tina yes It is setup up for version 12. but you can use this:

Hi, Lord, for some reason, I suddenly lost the values of lat. & long. from the "Owner Info," and I cannot re-load them. Everytime I do, they simply disappear after I close the config.exe. Appreciate if you, or anybody else, could help.
