Scrolling News

Like the Calendar+ and LTwisted skins but neither of them have scrolling news stories. How would I configure these to have scrolling news items or what other skins have this that are as good as these skins?

I've got scrolling news in two of my skins. I have 3 lines and 6 lines scrolling news. I can post the skins if you like, then you can cut and past the rss section into your own skin.

The two skins are in the zip file, you need the scroll1.png for the 6 lines scrolling rss. You can put it in your image folder (colors-3d).

RSS is the last region in both skins.

*NOTE*: The scrolling news is not my idea, i believe it was RBG08 or Lordtwisted, but i'm not sure. I just adjusted it to my needs.

Installed - but there's no icons, all I have is three bars for the charge / memory etc, the weather with no icons and the news with no icons - also no icons at the top to switch each thing on or off??

Oh, i'm sorry. I thougt you where just goint to use the rss section of my skin. Here are the images you need. Copy the folder to you images folder.

Almost there - for some reason I don't have an icon for the weather in the top-left corner, in fact it's not showing any weather icons.
Also the news has stopped scrolling!

Change the line near the top of the skin that looks like this:

ok now I have general weather icons - but nothing still in the top left box (only says Edinburgh 4C - no graphic). And the news still isn't scrolling.

Try clearing your buffer and then try refreshing the data.

Sorry, for the weather icons. I changed the name of the Lordtwisted weather icons to LT, because i change the weather icons very often and them Lordtwisted is too long to type

As for your news not scrolling. i don't know why it does not work. It works perfect on my ipaq. Just remember to tap the online/offline button.  The news only scrolls when you tap offline.

How do you refresh the weather without a refresh icon?  Nice work on the skins.

Tapping the date refreshes the weather and rss.

Doh! I thought the news only scrolled when you were online! Fixed now.
Now what would be great and unique would be if it could scroll to the end of one rss and then continue onto the next. For instance I have BBC news tech, BBC news uk and pocketpcthoughts.com. If you put it to scrolling when it gets to the end of the tech it jumps to the beginning of the uk news, then when gets to the end of uk news it jumps to pocketpc then back to tech news etc - like Journal Bar.
Can you or anyone do that?

I 'wanted to do that to, but i'm not that good with skinning. Maybe someone else (or SRS) can do that for us.

I wanted to add even more lines, so I pasted the RSS lines from 2004_2.txt into my copy of slider.txt and added another 6 lines of news headlines. Unfortunately, I now have 6 more copies of the first headline.

Since I'm not a programmer, if fixing this isn't simple, please just say so. On the other hand, I figured I should ask, in case if there's a simple place to make a small edit and fix this problem.
