Hi Joel,
I have the days of the week as "written code" in the skin..   It sounds like you have it also set up in the config, which would give you double type !!
Let me know !!   :)

Hey ZapMe1;
Love the HammerSkin it is my fav. and I think I have just about all of the TodayPlus skins. I especially like your twist on the skin. I have a couple of questions though.
I have downloaded EzDownloadand placed it in program files, Radar exe. and Radar .txt are in My Documents. Where should they be? also do they work  or how do I config. it so it will work from the radar button on the weather page?
I would also like to say that Wichtel you and everyone working on skins and keeping TodayPlus alive are to be congratulated for all of your fine work ,time spent , and new ideas that keep this going. A special thanks to jhollin for the site where it all takes place. Im glad to see that the idea for a free today screen program started by SRS has not died, it lives on and benefits all even if you dont have the knowledge to contribute.

For one thing the EZ-Download should be in the Windows directory. And depending on which exe file you have it is either in the My Documents along with the text file. If you have the newest it can be in any folder as long as the text file is with it. Then point your shortcut to the proper folder.

Remember to have the correct path in the text file to where the images will be stored. I think Zapme1 is using Storage Card 2 which can be changed.
Here is an example of the path, but not the one you need.

\Storage Card\corbcut ET2 (pocket pc) Everything Today\images\Radar\radar1.gif

Here is the link to the version of exe I am using. It is at bottom of page. http://www.jhollin1138.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1579&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=20
I hope I didn't confuse you.

Hi Hollywood,
I'm glad you like my modifications to HammerSkin !!   It's my favorite skin that I use all the time now !
I haven't tried EZDownload or Radar.exe yet, so I wouldn't be any help in that area..   Wichtel, UK_Skinner, and Rotlaus are the experts in this area, and also Joelw135 is great at detailed help !!
The Radar button that I have in HammerSkin is linked to weather maps made from Accuweather.com...   It's simple !  You find your area's/city radar map at the site, modify and save it using M$ Word..   Joel is right, I saved the map on my SD card, and then simply enter the path in the skin !!
Thats it !!   When online, you'll get the current updated radar image, and when opened offline, the most recient updated map will be there..  :D
It's simple, and has worked very well for me !!!

hollywood:

As Zapme1 pointed out, using a modified html and IE is very simple and effective way to get radar image.  It does not require too much set-up work.  It works even better if you are after USA city since the websites from accuweather.com are meant for PDA.

Using EzDownload to download just weather image from the site offers more flexible in terms of "image manipulation".  You also can label your image if you wish, add pop-up weather forecast window when you tap on the city, group different images from different sites.  You also can use your image viewer where you can move around, zoom and pan the image.  This becomes very useful since most images are large.  By just downloading the image is much faster than open the site.  Also, a simple tap will update all your images.   However, here is the price you have to pay.  It will require you to do some set-up work.

I think both ways work great and we are expecting LT will release his own way pretty soon.  Depend on your preference, you can choose the one you feel comfortable and I believe there are a lot of help on this forum if you do run into the problems.

hollywood

Thank you for all the replies and info I will try both ways and see which will work best for me. I'm sorry I did not reply sooner but I'm running off of my laptop battery and it dies quickly. I still have no power due to the last hurricane and so I have to conserve battery power. If I have any more questions you will be hearing from me. THANK YOU ALL!

ZapMe,

I downloaded the skin and image files from your first post, but I am still seeing the blue colored icons along the right side of the screen as in teh first set of screen caputures instead of the tan colored ones in the 2nd screen caputures.  The colors for various headings are the same as in the first capturestoo.  I don't have the same weather icons as you either.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

ZapMe1

Hi aodaniel,
The HammerSkin Theme can be changed from Blue to the Yellow/Tan color by going to the "System" tab (ppc icon), and tapping on the "change theme" tab on the bottom left !!

The Weather Icons are defined within the skin..  Depending on which set you have, you simply store them in the "images" folder, and enter the name of the set within the skin !!

Let me know if you need more help !!   :D
