VGA Question...

I was just wondering... does TodayPlus work on the new VGA devices...??? Such as the Asus a730... Loox 720... Hx4700 or the Toshiba E830...

Yes it works. On PPC-Welt we have two Skins supporting VGA.

   Just curious, are you going to make Hammerskin for VGA?  What needs to be done if you want do that?  Make the icons 4 times bigger, re adjust the position of text?

Oh no I not, since I don't have a VGA device. But if I am not mistaken, Geezer63 is employ with that. He has at least asked me once whether he may do this.  Unfortunately, I don't know how far progressed has this by now. I hope, this he reports if he has finished with it.

       Thanks, I don't have any motivation right now.  But if I do get a VGA device, I probably will ask you again (not ask you to do it, just ask you to see anyone done it).  The VGA screen jus looks so nice........

Not to worry if... errr... when I get a VGA device I will translate it for my own use... AGAIN... I will say it... this is the best skin to date.

I have not looked into modifying it much... but I see that you are all continuing to develope it... I applaud you all on the great work. But for now I am happy with the basic skin.

I've been working on a VGA theme for quite some time, along with help from Blazingwolf (God, I hope I got that right)   It's about 80% done.  Unfortunately, everytime I make good progress, these guys come up with some new feature that I just got to throw in.  So, I'm trying to limit that now at least until I get the basics down.  I will say it will be different that Hammerskin.  I started on this before Wichtel released his.  Fortunately,  everyone I've talked to has been gracious enough to allow me to incorporate there code.  But it's not that easy.   That, and the fact my wife has gone thru some bad medical problems.  She's fine, but it has slowed my initial release timeframe.  Sorry, I haven't kept you guys posted but life is moving so fast at the moment.

I am also intersting in VGA skin since I probably will give myself a VGA PPC in near feature.  If you think you want put the radar/satellite image in your skin, just let me know which part I can help you with.  It will be awsome since you get 4x area can display the image....

Yes, that is a feature i want to add.  But before I do that I gotta get the RSS working.  It works in itself but I have some overlapping somewhere and Blazingwolf is helping with finding the error.

The VGA's are nice because you can see so much more.  It's tiny to look at but so much more data.

You got the right person, Blazingwolf covered your back, may be I should say "right wolf"...

Learn a trick from Wichtel, maybe you can try "cleararea,x,y,width, height" to eliminate the "overlaping" problem..

I think we are doing the cleararea.  At least we have on many of the other areas.  It's starting to look really good.  I guess, the next question will be on weather to release this or get the radar stuff working.  I'm leaning more towards getting the bugs out before we release it anyway.  There are a few weird things that happen even though Blazingwolf and I have the same PDA and OS.  So we are trying to iron out a few kinks as well.  Will keep you posted.

Greezer63:  My impression was not a lot of users have VGA device at this moment.  This could change rapidly since hx4700 was shipped already and Dell X50 is expected to users in Nov.  I would suggest you to look around to see the demand of VGA skin for TP.  You can always post what you have right now if someone need it and get the improved one out later.  JUst my suggestions....

I'm scheduling this weekend to finish what I have done and then release it.  I'm hoping to get all the basics ironed out.  I'm sure I'm going to need some help fine tunning it.  But I feel pretty confident that I'll have something to release this weekend.
