Configuring Clocks and Weather

Two questions, one quick, one maybe not so quick:

1.) How can I set the default clock to analog. Unlike most other settings, Hammerskin doesn't seem to remember my preference and defaults back to digital each time.
2.) For the weather, it gets my sunrise and sunset really wrong. It lists it as
Rise 22:40
Set: 10:47
Length: 12:6

Any way to fix this?

1)  I think someone ask this before, let me see I can remember the answer..

Find the codes near the bottom of skin (under region 1) :

change to

 imagebutton,422,238,zeitbutton.png,tr,11,4,1,1

2) Did you set up the city#1 as your home town in configure file?

I'm not entirely sure I understand this. The first city in the weather settings is my home town. Is that what you mean?

Yes, that is what I meant. Bad English!!
Two possible situations here.

1)How about the Lat. and Long. in your owner information?

2)The suntime will be based on which city you are looking at in TP.  In other words, if you are looking the weather of your home city, then you should see the right suntime.  But if you look another city that is located in the other time zone (some times is half earth away), then your suntime will be your "local" time of the sun rise.  For example, if you are at East coast of USA, let's say your sun rise is 7:00AM.  If you are checking Los Angeles's weather then you will see the sunrise is 10:00AM.

If you have filled in the correct latitude and longitude on the Owner Info tab in the config you may just be misinterpreting "sunset". TP+ uses Civil, Nautical, Astronomical and Official sunrise and sunset times - these can vary quite widely but each is a valid definition for sunrise/sunset. Check out fishboy's Skin Reference for the "suntime" abd "moontime" commands.

Okay, I realized when I reinstalled my device, I forgot to set the correct long and lat. So, when I fixed that, the rise and set times were fixed. But it now shows a length of -13:56. Anything I can do about that?

And thanks for all the help so far. :)

Sometimes unload the TP and reload it will help.  Try it...

Do you mean to uninstall it altogether?

No, go to Today Plug-in, then close it.  You don't need to "de-select" and "re-select" TodayPlus.  Once you close the Today Plug-in window, the TodayPlus will "unload" and "reload" again.

It reset all the variables in the TP.

You also can try softrest.

wasgo

Ah. I tried that and it still lists a negative value for day length.

  :wall:

That is odd!!!  The only thing I can suggest you is to to double check
1) Check you have the right lon and lat (49.250, -123.133 )
2) Your first city in weather is your home city

Since I know your city, I will try my device....

wasgo

Yup, that is approximately my long and lat. I entered the exact value for my house, but it only changes by well under a degree.

wasgo:

  Bad news.
If I switched to your time zone (GMT-8) and used your city coordinates.  I saw the same thing: negative day length.  I wonder other person had the same problem before.

Anyone out there has any idea?????

Do skins support any sort of basic calculations? Maybe I could subtract from 23:60.

wasgo:  Again, I think you will be dispointed about my answer.  Based on my understanding, the output of time is in text format (sort of "print" or "echo") and you can not assign a variable to it.   Therefore, you can not do the calculation.

What I have not tried yet is to set as Seattle or San Francisco since they are in the same time zone as your home town.
