Logika Complete skin v0.9.8

I'm really satisfied with this version of my Logika skin.  I optimized the whole code, eliminating about 95% of full refreshes.  This has sped up the skin considerably.  I also rewrote the whole RSS section to be similar to srs' slider skin.  Thanks to the new if/else commands, I was able to customize the rss section to look different for the Stocks page.  This is what had kept me from adopting the newer RSS style in past versions of my skins.  I also replaced the Local analog clock on my Big Clock page with an Analog Memory meter.  Tapping on the analog memory and battery meters now brings up more detailed information.  I also added the feature to make text that is updating gray, while leaving other text that isn't being updated normal.  All other features are the same as my last version.

*Edit: this version is no longer available. Please download my latest version of Logika Complete skin. :)

Love what you;ve done with the skin. One question, one suggestion.

on the quick launch bar, the right arrow button doesn't advance to the second quick launch page. I took a quick look, but I seem to miss what's doing it.

Suggestion: In the clock region you have the home clock set to Cedar. Instead why not use a variable ( eg hometown_clock ) in the region then in the top of the skin have a set variable area where the value can be changed, making it easier to set.

Small quibles though, VERY nice job!

Thanks for another awesome skin to use with Today Plus.  It's great to have choices;).

Agreed on the comment above about the clock section. It took some doing, but I got them changed more to my liking.

BTW for others - the clock codes in the config are not actually "ordered".  From what I can tell, time 2 is actually LOCAL and the display order for the five analog clocks is time 2,1,3,4,8 (left to right).
Take care,

Hmm, not sure why it isn't working for you.  I copied the skin included in the zip directly from the one I'm using and it works fine for me.  I made sure to test everything thoroughly before posting.  If others experience this problem, let me know and I'll repost the file.

That is a good idea.  I intended for it to be a static time, so it wouldn't change when I'm traveling.  But I do agree it makes it hard for the average user to quickly change.  I create these skins with my own personal use in mind, but it never hurts to include a few simple enhancements to make it more "user friendly". :)

I'm glad you like it ;) .  I too like trying/using different skins, depending on my mood.  In addition to the several excellent TodayPlus skins posted in this forum, I have about 6 different Icbar skins I've modified, and well over 100 Today themes I've made or downloaded that I rotate through.  Variety is what keeps me addicted to the PPC.

This is almost all correct.  Time "2" in the config file is set to MST (Mountain Standard Time).  By changing the timezone code to your own timezone, the first analog clock will display your local time (but you will have to manually change the name "Cedar" to your hometown name in the skin file under Timezones>Analog Clocks).

How I can make a refresh of the weather and of the rss whithout delete the cache?

The config.txt file contains the minimum update frequency (60 mins in most cases, 20 mins in the case of three of the feeds in this skin).  TodayPlus will not refresh this data if it's less than 60/20 mins old.

With the Logika Complete skin you can ask TodayPlus to refresh the data (assuming it's older than the minumum refresh time) by pressing the time on the weather region or the title of the RSS feed (eg BBC News).

Just double checked that my screen alignment was correct. I can click on the right arrow button and see it depress, just no change to quicklaunch.

No urgency, as 99% of what I use I can have in the first quicklaunch bar.

David,

I just downloaded the posted file and tried using the included skin.  The QuickLaunch section is working the way it's suppose to on my PPC.  Have you edited the skin file?  I changed a lot of things in this skin version, including parts of the QuickLaunch section.  So far, I haven't been able to reproduce your problem. :(

That is a very good idea!  I do not believe srs has included this feature in TodayPlus yet.  You may want to post this idea in the "Request" forum.

I should have thought of doing that. I ran the default config.txt with no alterations and it indeed ran fine. I had been copying and pasting the quicklaunch area, must have mucked it up. I went in and edited by hand instead of copy/paste, and it is working fine now.

Thanks for your patience  ! -David

rbg08 -

After using this great skin for a few days, I have a few request (or help if there is an easy change).

1)  Highlighted buttons - change to red when region is opened as in the default 0.9.8 skin.  Possible?

2)  I saw in another post how to make the Calendar skin by blazingwolf open with the weather region opened.  Possible with Logika?

Thanks again!
Take care,

Unfortunately not without a lot of editing. :( You can have the buttons change red momentarily when pressed by copying the buttons from Colors-3D to Logika Complete-3D and changing the image names in the skin file from *.bmp to *.png.

Not sure what you're asking.  If you mean start-up with the weather displayed instead of collapsed, it is possible, but would require some minor tweaking of page jumps in the skin.
