Hello,

I am a french user and I found this software very good, but unfortunately
I can not get weather or news data when I put my ppc on my desk support.
Activesync is working well and I can also use IE when my pocket pc is on the support.
Please help me ???

My first question will be,
is your PC behind a proxy?  TodayPlus won't work if it is.

Slight correction Eitel :
if you use Windows Mobile 2003, it DOES sync behind a proxy (I do it all the time)
You just have to configure your proxy on start>settings>system>connections" and it works perfectly.

Since on PPC2002 the connection didn't have a similar place to configure the proxy, maybe that's what causes the problems for PPC2002 users who are behind proxy servers.

I do have the 2003 OS (HP 4155).  The problem is that I need to enter a user/pass to get pass the proxy, and while PIE prompts me for this info, TodayPlus won't.  :(

Can't you check "remember my password" checkbox?  I think that stops the problem on my iPAQ.

Nope.  Even doing that it won't work.   :(

Exactly, that's what I did and from there on, TodayPlus always syncs ok.

What's the error message you get in debug.txt?

Get URL fail (183)Get URL fail (183)Get URL fail (183)Get URL fail (183)

and

GetHostName fail: (183)

I have similar problems behind my proxy server and so use Wingate as a proxy forwarder, I believe version 2.1d is free for single user personal use.

And this is what I get on the rss files, while actually browsing fine with PIE:

<HTML>
<HEAD><TITLE>407 Proxy Authentication Required</TITLE></HEAD>
<BODY>
<H1>Proxy Authentication Required</H1>
<H4>
Unable to complete request:<P>
Access denied due to authentication failure.

I face the same problem at work. Can use internet (via cradle) and use activesync, but no update of TD+. At home I do not have any problem.

At work system is behind a proxyserver.
Debug.txt gives GetHostName fail: (183)

using system IPAQ 2210 with latest version of TD+ (0.10.2)

:(

Eddy

same as bobm,

I am using Toshiba e750 with WM2003.

at work, I can use Internet in Pocket IE through Cradle, activeSync works fine, but no update for weather or RSS. I tried to clear up the buffer directory, tried refresh button, nothing will update. the last update time (I am using Cleandar skin) still shows the last update before I leave home this morning.

when I click on one of the rss link, my IE was able to go to the bbc site (for example) to view the detail contents, so I know my Internet connection is working.

when I am at home, connection to internet through cradle is fine, and I do get weather and rss update, no problem at all.

Thanks! ~Eddy

I had the same issue at work.  I could browse the internet through my PPC, but the weather and RSS would not update.  I checked the "remember password" box and everything is running fine now.

But does anyone know where I can remove the password and userID that it is remembering?  Where is this information stored?  I don't think I want my PPC going out to the internet every three hours without my permission....Not sure if the IT guys at work can track that.  If they could, I would be in trouble....

Thanks,
lsucat

I've pretty much given up using this program from behind my work proxy.  outside, at home, or using a wireless connection no issues, but there's nothing in the program that lets me set my internet proxy server information.

ho hum, it's a nice program any way.

If you are using Pocket PC 2003, it is really easy to set up a proxy.

1) Start->Settings->Connections Tab->Connections->Advanced Tab->Select Networks

2) Edit existing connection or create a new one

3) Select Proxy Settings Tab
a) Check 'This network connects to the Internet'
b) Check 'This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet'
c) Enter your proxy server (without the http://).
Example: www.myproxy.com
d) Press the Advanced... button
e) For HTTP, verify that your server and port (usually 80) are correct

Today Plus works fine this way.

Once set up, you can easily switch between Home (non-proxy) and work (proxy).

Note: Unlike what others have noted, I have found that as long as I can access the internet, Today Plus will update fine.

Free programs such as vxIPConfig and vxUtil can verify your actual connection (http://www.cam.com/windowsce.html).
